Giza Complex - a childhood dream
Giza Pyramid is located in Giza, a suburb of Cairo. If you rent a hotel around the Pyramid area, you can walk here. If you come from Cairo International Airport or in the city center, you should hire Uber because it is transparent, the price is always displayed for you to know, cheaper and more convenient than a taxi. There are three types of taxis in Cairo: old black-and-white taxis with no meter and no air conditioning; More modern white taxis have air conditioning and a meter, but you must remind the driver to turn on the meter to avoid arguments later; Yellow taxis are the most expensive and can be booked in advance by phone. You can also travel by bus, microbus and subway, but it will take a bit of time.
You can also buy a half-day or one-day tour with a guide from travel companies.
When you arrive at the Pyramid, you can walk or rent a camel to ride to famous viewpoints to take photos of the Pyramid. However, you should negotiate the price and terms in advance to avoid arguments later. All horse, camel and carriage rides) have a government-set fee of 100LE per animal (not per person) for 30 minutes.

The Great Pyramid of Giza
The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It served as the tomb of pharaoh Khufu, who ruled during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom.
One of the most interesting fun facts about the Great Pyramid of Giza is that it's the oldest and last remaining of the original seven world wonders.
Initially standing at 146.6 metres (481 feet), the Great Pyramid was the world's tallest human-made structure for more than 3,800 years.

#100WaysOfTravel Riding camels at the Pyramids of Giza was a surreal experience that felt like stepping back in time. As I approached the towering structures, their grandeur was even more breathtaking from the vantage point atop my gentle, swaying camel. The sun cast a golden hue over the sands, illuminating the ancient monuments that had stood for millennia. My guide shared fascinating stories about the history and construction of the pyramids, enhancing the adventure with a depth of understanding about this incredible civilization. The rhythmic movement of the camel added a unique charm to the journey, and as we trekked across the desert, I could feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and the cool breeze of the evening beginning to settle in. The landscape was vast and awe-inspiring, with the Great Sphinx looming mysteriously in the distance, and I felt a sense of connection to the countless travelers who had come before me to witness these wonders. As we rode into the sunset, the sight of the pyramids against the fiery sky was nothing short of magical, creating a memory that I will cherish forever.

A must visit at least once in a lifetime. If you can schedule a private tour with an Egyptologist and private car, I highly recommend doing so. Booking the tour and private car allowed us to bypass lines and made the experience more comfortable overall.
Standing next to the Great Pyramid of Giza, the last remaining wonder of the ancient world, I felt humbled by the achievement of the ancient Egyptians who built these masterpieces over 4,500 years ago.
Being at Giza is more than just seeing a famous landmark; it's a journey into humanity’s past. The feeling of awe and connection to ancient history is something I’ll never forget.

Most famous wonder of the ancient world
The Pyramids of Giza are among the most iconic and enduring symbols of ancient Egypt. The largest and most famous of the three pyramids is the Great Pyramid of Khufu (also known as Cheops), built over 4,500 years ago as a tomb for the Pharaoh Khufu. Standing at approximately 481 feet tall, it was the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years.
Entering the chambers inside the Great Pyramid of Khufu is a captivating experience. Descending through narrow passageways, you enter the heart of the pyramid, where you encounter the King's Chamber and the Queen's Chamber. The King's Chamber, constructed with immense precision and skill, contains the granite sarcophagus believed to have once held the remains of Pharaoh Khufu. The chamber's architectural brilliance and the sense of history within its walls are truly awe-inspiring.
Exploring the chambers inside the Great Pyramid offers a glimpse into the ancient Egyptian civilization's advanced engineering and architectural prowess. It's a profound and humbling experience to stand in the presence of such an enduring testament to human ingenuity and ambition.

The pyramids of Egypt fascinated travellers and conquerors in ancient times and continue to inspire wonder in the tourists, mathematicians, and archeologists who visit, explore, measure, and describe them.
Tombs of early Egyptian kings were bench-shaped mounds called mastabas. Around 2780 BCE, King Djoser's architect, Imhotep, built the first pyramid by placing six mastabas, each smaller than the one beneath, in a stack to form a pyramid rising in steps. This Step Pyramid stands on the west bank of the Nile River at Sakkara near Memphis. Like later pyramids, it contains various rooms and passages, including the burial chamber of the king

[Egypt] The three great pyramids of Giza!
I went to see the three great pyramids of Egypt!
The gates usually open at 7:00, so it's best to go early in the morning before the tour groups arrive⭕️
(Currently, tickets can be purchased from 8:00 during Ramadan)
In particular, the Pyramid of Khufu is the first place many people go to after entering, so be careful if you want to see inside the pyramid.
When you enter the area, there are many people soliciting you to ride camels and horses.
If you want to ride, be sure to negotiate the price, and the government has set a certain price, so if they ask you for more than that, refuse!

Most beautiful sunset in Egypt
I spent 6 days in Giza with the most incredible views of the pyramids. Every night was the most amazing sunset that you can see from every rooftop restaurant. If you time your dinner right, you can watch the sunset and then catch the light and sound show at 7:30 most nights. The free walking tour has the best guide and I highly recommend it.

Adventure at the PYRAMIDS of GIZA!
With 1 full day in Cairo, of course the pyramids are my first stop. Oh & picture or it didn’t happen!
The pyramids are located 15km from the city center of Cairo. If you think they look impressive in photographs, wait till you’re standing at the foot of one of the pyramids!
Business Hours: 7:00 - 18:00
Arrive early to purchase your ticket (starting at $10)
Be prepared to spend at least 3 hours inside.
Recommended visiting time: October to March (Winter)
Once inside you can see the Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Khafre, The Great Sphinx, Pyramid of Menkaure, Cemeteries, Tombs and Temples. There is A LOT to see, learn and photograph.
Activities available inside are quad biking, horse riding, Camel rides, guided tours etc.. carry some $1 notes for tipping if that’s your thing.
There are many souvenir stores all around the place but you will need to know how to bargain because the prices are hiked up as it is a tourist spot.
Recommendation: go inside (walk) see all you need to see then save the activities for the end. Wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses for your own health and safety.
Once done, we went over to a local family restaurant and tried some local cuisine namely: Koshary. It’s a must try!

The only Wonder of the Ancient World 🇪🇬
The Giza Pyramids Plateau is a historical and cultural site in Egypt, where the ancient Egyptians built several monumental pyramids and a giant sphinx.
The main pyramids belong to the pharaohs Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, who ruled during the 4th Dynasty (around 2600-2500 BC).
The pyramids were originally covered with limestone blocks, which gave them a smooth and shiny appearance.
The sphinx is a mythical creature with a human head and a lion body, which faces east and guards the pyramids.
The Giza Pyramids Plateau is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Memphis and its Necropolis.
It is one of the most famous and visited tourist attractions in the world, and the only remaining Wonder of the Ancient World.
