This is not an aquarium! It's the Guangdong Provincial Museum! A perfect place to escape the heat and the rain
Visiting Guangzhou without going to the Provincial Museum is a huge mistake.
Unlock both the aquarium and the museum at the same time, and enjoy the dual experience of taking beautiful photos and appreciating the exhibits!
The weather has started to heat up recently, and it's also been raining, so the Provincial Museum is simply the perfect place to avoid both the heat and the rain.
And it's free!
Travel Tips:
V For photo opportunities, head first to the Marine Life Specimen Hall on the 3rd floor, where the lighting is dim, so it's recommended to wear light-colored clothes.
Right below the aquarium is Dinosaur World, complete with dinosaur fossils! Finally, you don't have to look at pictures in books, you can see the real thing! It's a great place to bring kids for learning.
V The most famous jade carving, "White Cut Chicken," is located in the Natural Resources Museum on the 4th floor. I think it's the treasure of the museum! 29
There's also a special exhibition on the Bronze Civilization (separate tickets required) that runs until June 2nd V
The 2nd floor has a restaurant, coffee shop, and a cultural and creative area. It's a good place to rest

The exhibition area here is divided into a history hall, a nature hall, an art hall, and a temporary exhibition. I highly recommend taking pictures of the ocean exhibition (next to the temporary exhibition). You'll be amazed by the sea creatures swimming overhead as you walk in. In addition to ocean and dinosaur exhibits, you'll also find a wide range of permanent exhibitions. What's more, Canton Tower is just a stone's throw away.

🏯Guangdong Museum is a place that houses a large number of treasures and contains a wealth of knowledge. It is a great place for study tours, where you can feast your eyes and gain knowledge to enrich your "memory"😍.
The exhibits are different from the long history of other museums. Guangdong Museum has more rich and diverse elements, which is another kind of "museum" in a sense. It even gives people the illusion of being in an aquarium, and the gems in the Natural Resources Hall are also super beautiful💞.

Free admission! If you have a foreign passport, make sure to go to the ticket office on the left side when facing the museum entrance. I mistakenly walked to the far-right entrance, which is for people who booked in advance using the app. You can simply show up on the day of your visit and head to the ticket office. Show them your passport, and they’ll let you in for free.
Overall, the museum features a variety of exhibits covering history, nature, culture, and the arts. There are about four floors, and you can probably spend roughly two hours here if you’re interested.#china

📍Address: Guangdong Museum
🏖️Environment/Facilities:
The Guangdong Museum officially opened on October 1, 1959. It is one of the first national first-class museums and an important cultural and tourist landmark in the Greater Bay Area. The architectural design of the Zhujiang New Town branch is inspired by traditional lacquer boxes, with spatial concepts borrowed from Guangdong's traditional ivory ball crafts. The overall creative design resembles a green ribbon filled with treasures.😍
💞Recommended Reasons:
The most popular attractions in the museum are the marine life and dinosaur specimens, making visitors feel as if they are in an underwater world or the Jurassic period. The museum's treasures include jade-carved white-cut chicken, Duan inkstones, and Chaozhou wood carvings. The aquarium section, which is the most popular, is located on the mezzanine of the third floor. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a beautiful blue 'ocean' scene. It feels mysterious, grand, and serene, as if looking up from the seabed at countless fish swimming above. The photo opportunities are stunning.🔥😎
There is also a paleontology hall where you can see dinosaur specimens and fossils from different periods, giving a sense of the mystery of nature and the origins of life.🤩
🗓️Itinerary:
1. The Guangdong Museum requires all visitors to make a real-name reservation for specific time slots. Please make reservations through official channels. Tickets are released daily at 22:00.
2. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday: 9:00-17:00, with the last entry at 16:00. The museum is closed on Mondays, with special announcements for other circumstances.
Transportation: Take Metro Line 3 to Zhujiang New Town Station.

Guangdong Provincial Museum "Art of the Roman Empire"
This exhibition is a collaboration between the Provincial Museum and the National Archaeological Museum of Naples.
On the third floor, the special exhibition requires a ticket of 60 yuan, and there is a free audio guide at the entrance.
It's quite crowded on weekends and during summer vacation, with crowd control in place, so you have to queue for a while to get in.
As the name suggests, the exhibits are all related to various aspects of the ancient Roman Empire.
There are plenty of dramatic Roman myths, including Cupid, Apollo, Daphne, Zeus, and so on.
There are also exhibits of Roman emperors like Marcus Aurelius, as well as some artifacts related to daily life in the Roman Empire.
The collection is not particularly extensive, mostly featuring well-known stories, but it's still decent.
More than what you see, the significance probably lies in the fact that it's a six-star gathering and an opportunity to see a European exhibition, hahaha.

There are only two days left to see the genuine Sanxingdui artifacts in Guangzhou
⚠️ The last two days of the exhibition are here, with the final day on June 2nd.
⚠️ Purchase tickets and enter directly, no need to queue for reservations.
⚠️ Free audio guides are available at the entrance of the exhibition, with both Cantonese and Mandarin options. Listening in Cantonese allows you to hear the pronunciation of certain artifacts in Cantonese for the first time, which is quite fascinating.
⚠️ There are volunteer guides available at half past the hour, and those who like to interact and follow group explanations can wait a bit. The volunteers are all cultural relics enthusiasts and are very willing to exchange and learn, but using the audio guide alone is also sufficient.
💚 Exciting Highlights 🤎
1⃣️ Right at the entrance is the first chapter of the Sanxingdui artifacts collection! In addition to presenting the genuine representatives of various aspects of the Sanxingdui culture, it also displays graphics and texts about the excavation process, allowing even beginners to gain a detailed preliminary understanding.
2⃣️ As the exhibition goes deeper, it displays bronze artifacts from different periods such as the Xia, Shang, Zhou, Spring and Autumn, and Warring States periods in a hierarchical manner. Although each section only selects the essence, there is no problem with the basic sorting, so the audio guide is very useful at this time, providing progressive explanations that cover a wide range.
3⃣️ The interactive setups are also very cute, such as the chime bells section, where you can interactively perform with the projected chime bells on the wall, making it clear what sound each bell makes.
The overall exhibition is a basic sorting of the bronze culture of the Yangtze River basin, friendly to beginners, with many genuine artifacts. The exhibition is closing soon, so hurry up and catch it while you can~
QuantumSailor_234
Little cuties in the museum, have you received this message?
The Guangdong Provincial Museum has designed an exhibition of bronze cultural relics from the Yangtze River basin, based on the concept of 'drinking from the same river'. The cuteness of these relics is not something that can be appreciated just ordinarily. The exhibition brings together bronze artifacts from the Sanxingdui site in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the bronze sites in the Jingchu area, and the bronze weapons from the Wu-Yue region in the lower reaches, allowing us to see the cultural characteristics of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. You can make a reservation to view it!

The Guangdong Provincial Museum's special exhibition 'Sharing the Waters of One River' has finally come to me to see the Sanxingdui artifacts
The Yangtze River, originating from the Roof of the World
Traverses high mountains and deep gorges, gathering hundreds of rivers into the sea
It has nurtured the Ba-Shu culture, Jing-Chu culture, and Wu-Yue culture
The bronze civilization of the Yangtze River basin with its multicultural integration

·
137 precious cultural relics from 18 national cultural institutions are on display, including 54 first-class cultural relics, which would normally require visiting several museums to see, are now available all at once, but I still feel it's not enough~ It's simply not sufficient to appreciate

You can now see Sanxingdui artifacts in Guangzhou
You don't have to leave Guangzhou to see the Sanxingdui artifacts up close.
The special exhibition "Drinking from the Same River" at the Guangdong Provincial Museum
Although there are Sanxingdui artifacts, it's not exclusively Sanxingdui's.
I think it's quite worth a visit,
Especially for those interested in the culture of the ancient Shu kingdom.
Constantly imagining the world more than 3000 years ago.
Remember you can rent an audio guide before entering the special exhibition hall‼️
Little tip🔔With the special exhibition ticket, you don't need to make an additional reservation for the museum or queue up, I went on the weekend and the entry was very smooth👏

Their Finery and Bridal Attire
"Their Finery and Bridal Attire - Exhibition of Women's Ethnic Costumes from the Pearl River Basin" is on display on the third floor of the Guangdong Provincial Museum. The exhibition showcases the finery and bridal attire of women from 23 ethnic groups that have historically resided in the Pearl River Basin.
The exhibition is divided into three parts:
The first part, "Why Dress Up," displays a variety of clothing-making tools, raw materials for traditional ethnic costumes, accessories with ethnic characteristics, and unique printing, dyeing, weaving, and decorative crafts;
The second part, "Beauty in Diversity," mainly features costumes from ethnic groups such as the Miao, Zhuang, Yi, and Yao, supplemented by photos, audio-visual materials, and multimedia interactive devices;
The third part, "Fusion and Innovation," showcases fashion dresses that incorporate elements of ethnic costumes.
The different finery and bridal attire of each ethnic group reflect their history, character, and aesthetic preferences, while also preserving many ancient Chinese costume traditions. The clothes are exquisite and each has its own characteristics,
The exhibition will continue until March 24, 2024, and is free to visit by appointment. Just make a reservation in advance through the official WeChat account of the Guangdong Provincial Museum.

The Guangdong Provincial Museum is really comprehensive
The Guangdong Provincial Museum is a bit different from other provincial museums. Firstly, the exterior of the museum doesn't look very big, but there is really a lot to see inside. In addition to ancient and modern history, there are also natural, marine, and geological exhibition areas, making it a comprehensive museum.
I followed a volunteer guide for the explanation at the museum, and I found the quality to be quite high.
Surprisingly, the so-called treasures in the Guangdong Museum were not as numerous as I imagined. The Xinyi bronze hu is one of the few bronze artifacts, and the guide informed us that this is because Guangdong does not produce copper, so there are fewer bronze artifacts unearthed, and even this one is likely to have been passed down from someone's private collection.
There are not many bronze artifacts, nor is there a lot of gold. One of the museum's treasures, a gold necklace, comes from the Nanhai No. 1 shipwreck, but the style doesn't seem to be a local product.
The Guangdong Museum seems more like an explanation of the human development history of Guangdong, rather than a display of a dazzling array of treasures. It mainly covers three subtopics.
The first is the three branches of Guangdong people: Cantonese, Chaoshan, and Hakka.
The second is the origin of the Maritime Silk Road, with a detailed display of the porcelain from the Nanhai No. 1 and Nan'ao No. 1 shipwrecks. (From here, it is very clear that society was regressing from the Song Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty).
The third is the various industries of ancient Guangdong. There are clocks, barbershops, ivory, murals, etc., and the most interesting is the wallpaper, which we consider very tacky, but was pasted over entire walls by Europeans. It is also evident that Guangdong, from being the southernmost part of ancient China, has gradually developed into the forefront of China's interaction with the world.

Guangzhou Citywalk - Guangdong Provincial Museum
Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Museum has suddenly become a hot spot, with tickets being hard to come by during the Spring Festival, and long lines forming daily at the entrance. Now it's not as crazy, but it's still hard to get a reservation.
The Guangdong Provincial Museum is located at No. 2 Zhujiang East Road in Zhujiang New Town, with opening hours from 9:00 to 17:00. It spans four floors and is a comprehensive museum, featuring both historical relics and specimens of animals and plants, equivalent to a history museum + natural history museum.
Some of the more popular exhibits include:
Guangning jade-carved chicken (Image 2, Guangdong Natural Resources Exhibition on the fourth floor)
Western Zhou beast-face pattern bronze he (Image 3, Guangdong Historical and Cultural Exhibition on the fourth floor)
Ming Dynasty Dehua kiln 'Zhang Shoushan' inscribed Luohan figure (Image 4, mezzanine third floor, Ceramic Exhibition)
Gold-lacquered wood-carved shrine (Image 5, third floor Wood Carving Exhibition)
Guangcai porcelain figure double-eared covered cup (Image 6, Guangdong Historical and Cultural Exhibition on the fourth floor)
Yangchun peacock stone (Image 7, Guangdong Natural Resources Exhibition on the fourth floor)
Thousand-gold Monkey King inkstone (Image 8, third floor Duan Inkstone Exhibition)
Jingdezhen kiln blue and white porcelain figure pattern Jade Pot Spring vase (Image 8, mezzanine third floor, Ceramic Exhibition).
The Natural Resources Exhibition's Oceanarium and Paleontology Museum are paradises for children (Image 17).
In addition, the third floor also hosts 'Their Finery - Pearl River Basin Women's Ethnic Costumes Exhibition (Images 19-20)', which is also worth a visit.
Special Exhibition - The Bronze Exhibition is also on the third floor. Having seen many in Beijing and other provincial museums, and it charges an admission fee, I'll pass.
The Provincial Museum is also a great place to view the Canton Tower (Image 20).
Complaint: The management of the Guangdong Provincial Museum still has room for improvement, with children making noise in the exhibition halls and display case glass covered with palm and fingerprints.

It's so gorgeous to see 23 traditional ethnic costumes at once in Guangzhou
'They are dressed up and on their thorny path ahead'✨
I was deeply moved by the episode of Jiang Xunqian's Miao silver jewelry, and I also understood how difficult it is to make a set of traditional costumes. Coincidentally, the special exhibition 'Their Dress and Wedding Dress' at the Provincial Museum has recently opened, and I finally have the opportunity to appreciate these cultural treasures up close~
The exhibition carefully selects the costumes and wedding dresses of 23 ethnic minorities such as the Miao, Zhuang, and Yao. Each set is more exquisite and gorgeous than the last! Especially those Miao costumes, they are really beautiful!!! Hurry up and make an appointment for the New Year💕
✅Warm reminder: If you have enough time, you can also watch the other two special exhibitions 'Yongle Palace' and 'West Chamber'~

5 days and 4 nights family trip in Guangzhou! Easy and fun, bring back home full of wonderful memories
My child said he had never been on a plane, and the wealthy dad immediately arranged for me to take him out to play, the kind that takes a plane. Immediately invite friends to join, and then start to decide where to go. Considering various factors such as ticket prices, weather, and suitable places for children, we finally chose Guangzhou. Although we didn't have a detailed strategy, and our brains were not very useful, we were indeed lucky. This trip was impromptu, but it was worthwhile!
Day 1: From Wuliangye to Baiyun, the child who took the plane for the first time was quite excited, everything was fresh, and he was happy all the way! After landing in Guangzhou, we directly checked in at the Canton Tower, climbed to a height of more than 400 meters, and overlooked the Pearl River in the night.
Day 2: Check in the cute tram and enjoy the scenery along the way. Go to Liwan Scenic Area, Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street and Xiguan, and experience the old Cantonese style.
Day 3: Take the APM to experience time and space travel, and eat the Guangzhou morning tea Dian Du De recommended by my sister. Check in at the Guangdong Provincial Museum. We couldn't visit without an appointment in advance. But because we are tourists from other places, we can visit directly with the ticket to leave Guangzhou, which makes us feel particularly warm. In the afternoon, we went to Changlong and rushed to see the circus. The atmosphere is lively, the program is wonderful, and it is eye-opening.
Day 4: Check in at Changlong Zoo. The queue was so long that it collapsed. Only after playing did I really feel why so many people come here. The quality of the animals is high and the environment is good, there is no doubt about it. The park staff are particularly friendly, and the projects in the park such as the small train, cable car, and projects in the Panda Paradise are all free, and there are also float performances that are particularly joyful. After playing for a day, I was very tired, but I felt it was worth it. I have already started planning for the next Zhuhai Changlong, Shanghai Disney...
The 5-day and 4-night trip to Guangzhou is about to end. This journey, whether it is transportation, homestay, food, or attractions, has given us a super great experience! Guangzhou is really a charming city!
Of all the goodbyes, I like to see you next time the most! I'm going home tomorrow, Guangzhou, see you next time!

The Guangdong Historical and Cultural Display exhibition hall is one of the three basic displays of the museum, with the timeline as the main line, divided into four parts: the source of Nanyue, the world of sailing, the continuation of the past, and the beacon of the Cantonese sea.
The Chaozhou Woodcarving Art Exhibition is divided into source, production, art, utensils, and appreciation. The exhibits not only include gold lacquer paintings, Tu Dashou screens, and round carved crab baskets, but also unique shrines, pavilions, palanquins, incense burner covers, and food boxes.
The Guangdong Provincial Museum's exhibitions are free to the public, and a full-time segmented real-name reservation system is implemented for visits, which can be reserved on the Yuebo ticket WeChat public account.
The transportation is quite convenient. You can take buses No. 18, 886, 669, 293 and get off at Xiancun Road South Station, or take buses No. 40, 407 and get off at Guangzhou Opera House West Gate Station. Or take the Metro Line 5 to Liede Station Exit D or take the Metro APM Line to Guangzhou Opera House Station.
But there are regrets this time, I didn't see the Xinyi bronze pot that is the treasure of the museum. But it's normal, this is also in line with my usual character
