One-Day Tour in Dongguan | Guide to Daling Mountain Elevator Guanyin Temple
| Guide to Daling Mountain Elevator Guanyin Temple. This is the first time I've seen a temple with an elevator, which is truly a blessing for the lazy.
The temple is located deep in Daling Mountain in Dongguan, and it is said to have a history of more than 300 years. It is much larger than Hongfa Temple in Shenzhen, and it's both beautiful and photogenic.
⛩️ About the Temple ⛩️
1. No reservation is required for the temple, but it is recommended to go early as the roads are narrow and it can get congested during peak times.
2. The temple offers a self-service vegetarian meal from 11:00—14:00, for 25💰/person (which includes a 5💰 deposit, refundable in cash if you finish your meal).
3. Incense can be obtained at the entrance for 20💰/bundle, enough to worship all the deities.
4. The temple architecture is magnificent, and it is advised to dress neatly to avoid revealing too much.
5. It is forbidden to take photos of the Buddha statues⚠️, and do not step on the temple threshold❌.
6. Visiting duration: 1~2 hours, with a 🆓 elevator available so it won't be too tiring. If you like taking photos, it might take longer.
7. 300 meters to the right of the temple exit, there is a square lawn where you can see the full view of the Guanyin Temple, and it's a great spot for taking photos of people and scenery.
8. When the visit is almost over, call a taxi in advance to go down the mountain. There are also private cars available (15💰/person, but they only go to the foot of the mountain, which is not worth it❌).
🚌 Transportation:
It is recommended to drive there, there is a parking lot 🅿️ 300 meters near the temple.
(⚠️ There is no direct bus to the entrance of Guanyin Temple, the park entrance is about 5.3km from Guanyin Temple, and those who like hiking can also choose to walk up.)
If you can't drive yourself, you can also refer to my route 🫡
1️⃣ Take the Shenzhen Metro🚇 Line 1 to Songgang Metro Station and exit at Gate G.
2️⃣ At the bus stop 🚌 outside the exit, take the "Guangshen 001" to "Fashion Electric Appliance Station" in Dongguan.
(You can check the bus arrival time on the little 🍊🤫 "The Bus is Coming" app, with a bus every 20 minutes, 8💰/person, and it takes about half an hour to reach the stop.
🚌 The bus runs from 6:00——20:30.)
3️⃣ After getting off the bus, take a taxi directly to "Daling Mountain Forest Park Guanyin Temple". The taxi can drive up there, and it costs about 30💰.

——
The Guanyin Temple covers a large area and is mainly divided into three main halls: the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, and the Guanyin Pavilion, with various Bodhisattva halls on both sides.
The red walls and yellow tiles are bright and colorful, surrounded by mountains. From a distance, it looks resplendent and majestic, which is why it's also known as the 'Little Forbidden City' of Guangdong. By rounding up, I could say I've also been to the Forbidden City.

Once I posted it on my Moments, people thought I went to Beijing.
In fact, it's a temple with a history of over 300 years.
It's also very close to Shenzhen, with a height equivalent to a 19-story building.
And there's even an elevator🛗, so getting a view from above is effortless.

Deep in the mountains of Dongguan, there lies a majestic and spectacular 'Palace in the Sky'
Golden roof tiles, red walls, intricately carved beams and painted rafters, the Grand Hall, and cloud-level corridors... Who would have thought that such a grandiose 'Palace in the Sky' could be hidden in the deep mountains near Guangzhou? It's a great new destination for a New Year's blessing trip! Right next to it, there's also a stunning hiking trail where you can breathe fresh air and admire the beautiful tea garden sunset.
This is the Guanyin Temple in Dalingshan, Dongguan, which has a history of over 300 years. From the entrance to the top, it's as high as a 19-story building, which is quite impressive (you can take an elevator to the top for a painless blessing).
Travel Tips:
It's recommended to drive up the mountain. There's a parking lot next to the entrance of the Guanyin Temple, but on holidays, when it's crowded with people and cars, it's best to go early; for friends taking a taxi, it's easy to get there, but the return trip might require taking a motorcycle🐔🏍️ down the mountain.
If you want to take photos and check in, you can go straight to the highest place, the Sutra Depository, and shoot downwards. Models on the corridor of the Guanyin Pavilion look especially good in photos.
For those who want to 🚶 hike, it's recommended to reserve an extra 3 hours. After visiting the Guanyin Temple, enter the Dalingshan Mini Loop from the Stone City Tower next to it. Along the way, you'll be surrounded by streams and green trees, and there's a tea garden on the mountain top where the sunset is absolutely beautiful.
From 11:00 to 14:00, there's a vegetarian buffet in the dining hall, 25/person.

Daling Mountain Forest Park Baishishan Scenic Area in Dongguan City
1. Ways to play. Daling Mountain Forest Park is suitable for weekend trips and nearby excursions. It is a large park in itself, and although there are some attractions inside, it is not suitable for playing as a scenic area. The best way is to go green on weekends.
2. Playtime. The mountains in Daling Mountain Forest Park are not very high, with the highest Chashan being only 530 meters. Although the scenic area is particularly large, it is not suitable for playing for too long. The most suitable playtime is a day trip. Go in the morning and come back in the afternoon.
3. Scenic area introduction. Daling Mountain Forest Park is the largest park in Dongguan City. It spans across four towns: Daling Mountain, Humen, Houjie, and Chang'an, and there is a corresponding entrance and exit in each town. The scenic area is mostly slopes and steps, with many reservoirs and ponds. The whole area is suitable for hiking and cycling.
4. Recommended mountain climbing route. The starting point of the mountain climbing route is the Chengmen Building in the Shidong Scenic Area, which can be reached from all four entrances. Starting from the Shidong Scenic Area, go to Biyou Valley, then to Bawang City, along the green trail, and finally climb to the highest peak of Daling Mountain, the 530-meter-high Chashan summit. This is the recommended full play route.
