Gu Huiji Temple Cultural Park.
Gu Huiji Temple Cultural Park is designed in the Tang architectural style. The reconstruction project will be completed in three phases. The first phase will include the construction of the main buildings such as the nursing home, the dining hall, the Mahavira Hall, and the Samantabhadra Hall. The second phase will include the construction of the Zen center, the purification room, the abbot's courtyard, and the bell and drum tower. The third phase will include the construction of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Manjusri Institute, the guest building, and the Sutra Library. Once the reconstruction of Huiji Temple is completed, visitors will be able to see the eaves and the majestic and varied contours of the temple from Laoshan, which will be a rare Tang-style ancient architectural complex in China.

A Zen journey through the ages.
In the cool morning light of autumn, I walked into the ancient Huiji Temple at the foot of Mufu Mountain in Nanjing. This thousand-year-old temple exudes a sense of tranquility in the morning mist, like an ink painting slowly unfolding.
The temple is not large, but it is exquisitely laid out. As I stepped through the mountain gate, the majestic Hall of Heavenly Kings came into view. In front of the hall, two thousand-year-old ginkgo trees stand tall and straight, with dappled sunlight filtering through their branches and leaves, as if guarding this pure land of Buddhism. The buildings in the temple are built according to the mountain's terrain, with blue bricks and black tiles, flying eaves and upturned corners, all exuding an ancient charm.
The three ginkgo trees in the ancient Huiji Temple are one of the most iconic landscapes of the temple, known as "living history." They are tall and straight, with thick trunks, exuding a vigorous and ancient aura. It is said that these three ginkgo trees are over a thousand years old and have witnessed the rise and fall of the ancient Huiji Temple.
Among them, two ginkgo trees stand symmetrically in front of the Hall of Heavenly Kings, like loyal guardians, with intertwined branches and leaves that block out the sun. The surface of their trunks is covered with deep and shallow lines, like the rings of time written by the years. Every late autumn, the ginkgo leaves turn golden, and when the sunlight shines down, the leaves seem to be gilded with a layer of gold, shining with warm colors. The fallen leaves cover the ground like a golden carpet, adding a touch of fantasy to the ancient temple.
The third ginkgo tree is a little further away, standing in a corner of the temple, said to be the "watcher" planted when the temple was founded. This ginkgo tree has more lush branches and leaves, with a wide canopy like a giant umbrella, providing shade and shelter from the rain. There are often pilgrims sitting around it, with a few stone benches under the tree, becoming a place for people to rest and communicate. This tree also seems to be particularly spiritual, and it is said that its leaves can bless peace, so in autumn, people often pick up the fallen ginkgo leaves and treasure them in books.
These three ginkgo trees are not only natural wonders but also witnesses to the thousand-year history of the ancient Huiji Temple. They silently guard this pure land of Buddhism, complementing the blue bricks and black tiles of the ancient temple, together composing a song of tranquil and distant time.
This trip to the ancient Huiji Temple is not only a cultural exploration but also a cleansing of the soul. In this pure land of Buddhism that has endured for thousands of years, I felt a rare sense of tranquility and composure, as if time had stopped here.

How many people like it when it's shot like this? Huiji Temple hidden check-in point
In addition to the millennium ginkgo, the hidden check-in points of Huiji Temple are as follows:
1⃣In addition to the dazzling ginkgo at Huiji Temple, even the small pond at the south gate, the reflection is simply beautiful into a Chinese landscape painting😍Unfortunately, only a short video was taken. See the previous notes
✅The scenery on the south bank of the pond is better than the north bank.
2⃣The metasequoia next to the south gate pond, the photo has a sense of atmosphere (see the previous few pictures)
3⃣The white wax tree next to Huiji Temple, brilliant as a cloud (see the middle picture)
4⃣The newly completed temple, the style is similar to the various temples in Nara, black and white main color, very suitable for shooting Tang style. The north gate parking lot is right at the door. (See the last few pictures)
🕙Business hours:
Arrived at eight o'clock, the door is already open.
Shooting time: 8 o'clock on the morning of 12/1
🚉Traffic strategy:
Non-weekend, drive directly to the north gate parking lot in the morning, more than 20 parking spaces, a few steps is the ginkgo. When leaving, they were not allowed in. Free parking.
🌟Highlights:
The tallest ginkgo, covering the sky and the earth, is majestic. Standing under the tree, you can feel the insignificance and shortness of human beings.
The largest ginkgo, called Millennium Drooping Milk. Today is the right time, the tree is brilliant and brilliant. A gust of wind blew, and the leaves fell to the ground, like butterflies fluttering. If you don't come again, you will probably have to wait another year🙈
The third one was struck by lightning, hence the name: Lightning Resurgence (such a sloppy name🙈) This one is already sparse, half bald.
🍽Catering recommendation:
One kilometer next to it, on Tangquan Street, Xie's pan-fried buns are crispy, and they are only sold at 12:20😁
The Gaojia noodle restaurant next door, it looks like a lot of ingredients, but actually didn't eat enough

Founded in the Southern Dynasty, originally named Tangquan Zen Temple, the three ancient ginkgo trees in front of the Daxiong Hall in the temple were planted by Xiao Tong, the crown prince of the Southern Dynasty, who studied here. They are now more than 1500 years old and are the most eye-catching scenery of the ancient Huiji Temple.

The golden ginkgo leaves, with the white walls and black tiles of the Daxiong Hall, add a bit of Zen and tranquility in the sparse shadows. The years are quiet and good.

‼️After admiring the ginkgo, taking a hot spring is also a good choice. After all, the place where the ancient Huiji Temple is located is also a hot spring resort.
·
♨️Ten miles of hot springs, thousand-year-old ginkgo, this time I checked in at the Nanjing Daji Hot Spring Resort adjacent to the ancient Huiji Temple.
·
🌿The resort is located south of the national-level Baili Laoshan Forest Park, east of the Pearl Spring Scenic Area, with mountains and water, quiet environment, and a strong holiday atmosphere.
·
♨️Daji Hot Spring Resort is a comprehensive hot spring resort, in addition to the elegant private baths, there are also different types of hot spring pools.
