A touch of greenery signifies the abundant signs of spring
The charm of antiquity is hard to imagine in an urban area, yet here lies a family-style park. Walking through it truly relaxes the body. A treasure of a place. 😃😃😃
🌟 Highlights:
The old and reputable Guilin Park, my favorite part is walking on these densely shaded avenues. Despite the blazing sun, it's exceptionally cool under the shade of the trees. 👍👍👍
👍 Highly recommended:
Amidst the lush greenery, there is also a Chinese-style garden. It's filled with a sense of history, as if one has arrived at the Suzhou Gardens. Taking a walk here at noon, all worries seem to vanish. Back to work in the afternoon with full vitality.

Shanghai Guilin Park
Guilin Park, located at No. 128 Guilin Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, was the private garden of Huang Jinrong, the former boss of the Shanghai Green Gang, nearly a hundred years ago. Originally named Huang's Garden, it was established in 1931 and covers an area of 35,500 square meters. The park is planted with more than a thousand osmanthus trees, including over 20 varieties, and also features centenarian trees. After several restorations, the garden has been renamed Guilin Park because of the osmanthus trees.
Guilin Park is a typical example of Jiangnan garden characteristics. The art of garden construction adopts the classical traditional Jiangnan scenic setting techniques, with a clever and unique layout. The park features small bridges over flowing water, pavilions, towers, lush flowers and trees, and a pleasant landscape.
The former private garden of the Green Gang boss is worth a visit!

The blooming hydrangeas are the epitome of April in the human world
April's hydrangea flowers are truly stunning, round and plump, with each bloom resembling a bouquet, dazzling your vision with their beauty. The hydrangeas are initially green during the early flowering stage, gradually fading to white as they grow, up close the petals are delicate and pure. From a distance, they look like pristine white balls, hence the name 'hydrangeas'. Near the teahouse in Guilin Park, the hydrangeas captured in photos exude an ancient charm, complemented by the traditional Chinese architecture in the background. The tender green hydrangeas at this time are the color of spring. In a few days, they will gradually turn into clusters of snowy white pom-poms, making for even better photographs.

🌸 Everything comes back to life, flowers bloom, spring is a beautiful season!
☀️ Pick a nice day to stroll around Guilin Park, this park is modestly stunning, and it's not just the osmanthus flowers, Guilin Park in spring is also incredibly beautiful!
🌈 The park has an ancient charm, with traditional Chinese garden design, small bridges over flowing water, artificial hills and pavilions, a scene at every step, small yet exquisite. The purple flowers hanging over the lake are exceptionally beautiful, making it a great place to wander and admire the flowers in spring, and a popular spot for local residents to exercise and walk on regular days!

The picturesque park hidden in the downtown area is quiet with few people, making it a great spot for photography
🌸 Currently, Guilin Park is in the prime season of plum blossoms, with the entire sea of flowers enveloping the forest garden, creating an incredibly beautiful scene. Moreover, it's less crowded, 🐦 with many birds around, making it a perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway.
🌟 The park is quite large, 🌲 with three different sections, 🪷 a lotus pond, rockery pavilions, and a winding bridge. It's especially suitable for taking photos in new Chinese style and Hanfu, with every pose turning out to be photogenic. 🧚♀️ What are the fairy ladies waiting for? Hurry up and come over for a check-in experience~

The Si Jiao Hall in Guilin Park
The name of Si Jiao Hall originates from the teachings of 'wen, xing, zhong, xin' in Confucius's Analects. Located at the center of the park, the hall is a four-sided architectural style, also known as the 'Four-sided Hall'. It covers an area of about 250 square meters, faces south with five bays, and is a brick-wood structure in the shape of a cross.
Around the Si Jiao Hall, the doors, windows, beams, columns, and eaves are carved with historical story reliefs of 'wen, xing, zhong, xin', showcasing superb craftsmanship and exquisite patterns. Three large copper lamps hang in the center of the hall. The hall is surrounded by a corridor over 2 meters wide, making the entire building quite magnificent. This place was also where Huang Jinrong entertained distinguished guests, discussed matters, and enjoyed performances in a large living room.
'Wen, xing, zhong, xin' comes from Confucius's Analects. The original text is: 'The Master taught in four ways: wen, xing, zhong, xin.' This means that Confucius educated his students in four aspects.
Wen: Literature, ancient books, etc. It implies that students should study extensively to become cultured and genuinely knowledgeable individuals.
Xing: Refers to moral conduct and also to the content of social practice, requiring students to be moral and proactive.
Zhong: To exhaust one's abilities is called loyalty, meaning that students should be loyal to their country and family.
Xin: To be factual is called trustworthiness. It means being honest, as only then can one be trusted.

Who says Shanghai is not part of Jiangnan? Guilin Park in downtown Shanghai is ready to prove otherwise!
Everyone knows Guilin Park is famous for its fragrant osmanthus, but few are aware of the unique charm of its wintersweet.
Most streets are desolate in winter. But here, in the cold winter, the wintersweet exudes a proud and cold fragrance.

Visit the Osmanthus flowers in Guilin Park
Osmanthus is one of the top ten traditional flowers in China, an excellent garden tree species that combines greening, beautification, and fragrance. The Osmanthus is clean and dust-free, and its strong fragrance can spread far, making it a unique sight. Especially during the mid-autumn season, the Osmanthus blooms in clusters. When the night is quiet and the moon is round, drinking wine and appreciating the Osmanthus, the fragrance is refreshing and refreshing.

There is no need to go to Suzhou or Shanghai downtown to enjoy your own Jiangnan garden with wintersweet
No need to go out of town, no need to run to the suburbs, there is a treasure park in the city, with direct access by two subways, hurry up and go smell the fragrance and admire the wintersweet~
📝About Guilin Park
Founded in 1931, it was once the private garden villa of Huang Jinrong, the chief inspector of the French Concession in old Shanghai. So it doesn't look like a park, but it's very much like Suzhou, a small and beautiful ancient Suzhou-style garden~

3. Feixiang Pavilion: There is a large wintersweet tree, which is in full bloom
4. Prajna Boat: The classic double bridge and koi are here, and due to the effect of water ripples, the reflection here is super artistic

Shanghai CITYWALK | Walk, Guilin Park
Walk. Guilin Park.
It is said that it was originally the private residence of Huang Jinrong. Indeed, its terrain and design are all residential constructions. There are corner pavilions, corridors, round doors, goose soft stone paths, bamboo forests, rockeries, etc.
It has a very classical garden style, but one of the buildings, Yi Pavilion, has a completely different style. (A clear Western style) The use of color is also very eye-catching among a group of ancient-style buildings.
One of my favorites is the Prajna Boat. Its shape is like a boat, surrounded by waterways. It's very interesting.
Because it is a residence, it is more winding and narrow compared to general parks.
At first I thought I could finish walking quickly, but I didn't expect to go around and around. During the period, I met people taking wedding photos, Hanfu enthusiasts, and grandpa playing the saxophone. There is also a tea room in the park where you can drink tea and watch fish.

It's always the right time to come here!
Guilin park is a gorgeous place with classical Chinese architecture; however, the best part is the abundance of trees and flowers. Whenever you come - whether it's fall, winter, sprint or summer - it's always beautiful 😻#falltrip
