Gullfoss 🗺️
#naturalbeauty
Visiting Gullfoss Falls during my summer vacation in Iceland was an absolute highlight! 🌊 This stunning waterfall, located in the Golden Circle area, is truly a natural wonder. The entrance is free, which makes it even better considering the breathtaking views.
Gullfoss is a massive, two-tiered waterfall that cascades into a deep canyon, creating a powerful and awe-inspiring sight. The walking paths offer fantastic viewpoints, and on a sunny day, you might even catch a glimpse of a rainbow over the falls. 🌈
Nearby, we explored the Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park, both of which are well worth a visit. The combination of natural beauty and accessibility makes Gullfoss a must-see in Iceland.

Gullfoss in Iceland 🌊🌊
📍Gullfoss, Iceland
Gullfoss is one of the famous waterfalls in Iceland which was located within the golden circle.⭕️ It was paved and easy to access to different areas and platforms where you can view the waterfall at different spots 📸📸. If you are lucky enough on a good weather, rainbow are easily seen 🌈🌈.
🗣️Advice: The path and the platform near the edge of the waterfalls are rocky and quite slippery, so hiking shoes is more preferable. Bring along a raincoat if you would not like to get wet, an umbrella might not be useful due to windy weather.
🅿️ Free parking
👥 Free entry

Wonderful Waterfall of Gullfoss
If you have limited time in Iceland but wish to witness the wonderful waterfall, you can opt to head to Gullfoss.
Gullfoss Waterfall Iceland is a great choice to visit because it is relatively close to town around 116 kilometre that took us 1 hour and 40 minutes.
There is no hike to Gullfoss. Just a short walk to the viewing platform and a brief distance down to the waterfall. It is easily accessible by most people, though there are some stairs and path to the waterfall which is slippery.
The waterfall stands tall at 32 metre. The crevice is about 20 metres wide and 2.5 kilometres in length. The average amount of water running down the waterfall is 141 cubic metres.
We took the Golden Circle excursion trip and it was convenient as we were drove to all these exciting attractions in Iceland

Gullfoss Nature Reserve
Every spot on Iceland was breath taking, but there is something about Gullfoss waterfalls that just instantly pulls you out of this world.
I have seen many waterfalls in my travels, yet the moment I stood there it's like the whole world froze, I'm naturally an overthinker but I could almost swear that this was one of the very rare moments where my brain just stopped.
Hoping to go back one day in winter to witness this spot in a different season.

Iceland's Gullfoss: Experience the Spectacular Scene in Person!
On this trip to Iceland, one of the must-visit attractions is Gullfoss, the second-largest waterfall in Iceland and a highlight of the Golden Circle! Standing on the upper viewing platform, I was truly amazed by the grandeur of this waterfall. Even from the top viewing platform, the sound of the water crashing down was already audible, showcasing the power of nature! There's also an information board about Gullfoss nearby, where you can learn about its history and details. As I slowly walked to the viewing platform, countless water droplets drifted past my eyes. If you're an adventure enthusiast, you can go to the lower viewing platform, where the closer you get, the more you can feel the majestic force of the waterfall!
In my opinion, this waterfall is definitely worth it. Experiencing Gullfoss up close is an unforgettable memory!

MUST GO: Majestic Gullfoss with rainbow
#familytrips2024
When you are at Iceland, one of the most impressive waterfalls that I recommend to go is the Gullfoss. Gullfoss translates to golden falls and on a good weather, there is a high chance spotting rainbow beside the waterfall! And we did spot one which was so pretty. The waterfall plunges a total of 31m and you can literally feel the water droplets as you are walking towards the waterfall. The view is amazing and majestic. Recommended!

What to do in Iceland in summer? [Rafting Edition]
Rafting is a great way to get to know Iceland in the summer, exploring the land of fire and ice along unknown routes. The rivers for rafting are formed by ancient glacial meltwater, and the canyons for rafting have been carved over billions of years. Chasing rapids is an exhilarating, camaraderie-filled, and uplifting experience that lets you feel the wild pulse of Iceland.
⛺1. The main locations for rafting in Iceland are:
① Hvítá River in southern Iceland (Class 2)
Hvítá whitewater rafting, rafting along the beautiful Hvítá River, which originates from Iceland's second-largest glacier, Langjokull. Join our team and ride the rushing meltwater rapids from Gullfoss to Bruarhlod. This journey takes 60-90 minutes and usually includes post-activity activities in the Drumbo sauna.
② Austari Jökulsá (East River Canyon) (Class 4)
One of Iceland's hidden canyons, jump into the raging rapids. The East Glacier River rafting trip is hailed as the 'Beast of the East' and is one of the most thrilling and unique adventures in Iceland.
③ Vestari Jökulsá (West River Canyon) (Class 1)
Rafting on the calm rapids of western Iceland is suitable for the whole family. It is recommended that children and beginners start with this half-day tour in the gentle West Glacier River Canyon.
🧡[tips]:
2. Rafting Safety Tips
It is recommended that participants in rafting know how to swim. Those who cannot swim may panic if they fall into the water and are not suitable for rafting. Friends who are not in good health or are pregnant are also not suitable for participation.
3. Iceland Rafting Rating Table:
The international rafting difficulty levels originated in the United States as a means of judging the navigability of rivers.
Class 1 Easy: This is a river suitable for beginners. Although it is suitable for those with little experience, it is still a fast-flowing river with waves and obstacles. However, if necessary, 'self-rescue' (detaching from the boat and landing) will be easy for capable swimmers.
Class 2 Novice: More difficult than Class 1, but still a clear, wide river with easily avoidable obstacles, suitable for beginners. However, some maneuvering is still required.
Class 3 Intermediate: These rivers may contain waves that can cover boats and obstacles that require complex maneuvering and sturdy boats.
Class 4 Advanced: Powerful, turbulent rapids requiring quick reaction times and continuous paddling. In some cases (including Iceland's 'Beast of the East'), this may mean steep drops.
There are also Class 5 (Expert) and Class 6 (Exploratory and Extreme) rapids worldwide, but none in Iceland.

Iceland, the most beautiful sight at the end of the world, a 6-day 5-night travel guide
Iceland, the most beautiful sight at the end of the world, a 6-day 5-night travel guide. Iceland is surprisingly fun💎, majestic, gentle, and clear, it is the place where the scenery I've seen with my own eyes is even more beautiful than the great shots on Instagram. To be honest, the travel guides for Iceland are quite general, you know where to go, but it's not clear what to do after you get there. So I've tried to write my guide as detailed as possible💎, friends who want to go to Iceland remember to keep it, and just follow it to play.

⭐In Iceland
1. There is no tipping culture in Iceland. Icelandic merchants will clearly mark prices to avoid hidden costs.
2. In case of emergencies, politely ask the staff, Icelandic merchants' restrooms can be used for free. Now, large supermarkets have mother and baby restroom facilities at the entrance, which can be used for free.
3. Iceland is part of the Schengen Area but not the European Union, most tourists traveling to Iceland with a passport can get tax refunds, remember to ask the merchant about tax refunds after purchasing goods

🌌Essentials for life
-Really bring a thermos! (It's easy to drink cold air outside every day, and it's easy to get a stomachache, you can make a cup of ginger tea to warm your stomach after returning)
-Warm packs! (When going out to chase the Northern Lights, you really will shiver from the cold at night, put a few warm packs in your pocket, it really will be much warmer)
-Face masks! (Repair masks are really needed, every day the face is dry and red from the wind and rain, and Iceland is also quite dry, you must hydrate in time🥹)
-
💠Dressing Guide
⬆️Upper body: Quick-dry underwear (very important, can prevent catching a cold after sweating) + warm layer (fleece, thin down) + softshell jacket (can be worn when the wind is not strong and the weather is clear) / hardshell jacket (must add when there is rain or going to waterfalls)
⬇️Lower body: Warm layer (add when the temperature is low) + softshell pants + hardshell pants (must add when there is rain or going to waterfalls)
👟Shoes: Waterproof hiking shoes
🎩Hat: If it's a wool hat, it's best to have a windproof layer, lining
🧦Socks: Quick-dry socks/wool socks, double-layer socks are recommended
-
⚠️The premise of everything is to be warm and waterproof, many waterfall attractions or weather require waterproof clothing, gloves must also be brought, it's very cold for hands; bringing a windproof face mask is really important, if you don't bring it, the wind will really blow into your stomach...

✅Travel tips
🔸The bottled water sold in Icelandic stores is tap water. Remember to adjust the water temperature to the coldest before drinking.
🔸Icelandic restaurants have special prices for lunch, usually around 2000 Icelandic krona or about 100 RMB. Although the price is favorable, the quality is not discounted.
🔸Public transportation in Iceland is not always on time, and taxi fares are relatively high, so you can find a reliable landing group✅
🔸Download an Aurora APP to forecast the Aurora situation at any time, which is convenient for everyone to chase the 🌠Aurora better!
🔸All beautiful outfits are in vain, just bring a few more dazzling hats and scarves🧣 to match, follow the "three-layer dressing method"

Iceland 🇮🇸 Mount Kirkjufell
Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, is the northernmost capital in the world, located in the south of Iceland and the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The climate here is pleasant and the scenery is beautiful; the buildings in the city are tall and straight, and the streets are wide and straight; everywhere is covered with greenery. The famous Vatnajökull Glacier Ice Hotel and ski resort are built on the Borgarnes Bay more than 30 kilometers southwest of the capital.
The "Golden Waterfall" tourist area and "Queenstown", which were built and opened in 1973, also attract a large number of domestic and foreign tourists to visit. The "Golden Waterfall" is famous for its beautiful natural scenery, while "Queenstown" is known for its unique charm.

Natural wonder: Golden waterfall.
Iceland is known as the "kingdom of waterfalls" with hundreds of grand waterfalls on the island. The most famous ones are the Golden Waterfall and the Svartifoss Waterfall, where you can fully feel the majestic and unstoppable momentum of the hundreds of meters of water falling. The Golden Waterfall is rated as a more violent famous European waterfall than Niagara Falls, and even when some of the water areas are frozen, it still surges. The Golden Waterfall is divided into two sections, with water flowing down from a height of tens of meters, looking like two ribbons flowing along the canyon, which is very spectacular. The river water suddenly turns and falls into a curved three-level "staircase" at the entrance of the Golden Waterfall, then flows into the two "staircases" below, and finally flows into the deep canyon crack, forming the magnificent Golden Waterfall. The water droplets splashed by the pouring waterfall are scattered in the sky, forming a dazzling glow under the sunlight, as if a layer of golden clothes is covering the waterfall, which is truly gorgeous. If you are lucky, after a heavy rain, you can also see a rare rainbow spanning the waterfall.
The Golden Waterfall, with its immense width and drop, seems to forcefully tear open a crack among the mountains, roaring into the distance and leaving only a rumbling sound. Its two drops are extremely ornamental, making it the most stunning waterfall among all the peculiar waterfalls in Iceland. Every viewing platform must not be missed, in order to capture the Golden Waterfall from all angles. At this moment, standing on the rocky reef above the waterfall, one can appreciate the magnificent fusion of stillness and motion, which is a natural wonder that is truly amazing.

Gold Falls GULLFOSS
Iceland More sheep, more horses, more waterfalls, in Iceland, there are countless large and small waterfalls, because in the golden circle, so the reputation is also the biggest, this is not my favorite waterfall, but It must be the most visited. Its a very common thing to see the rainbow at the waterfall when the weather is good. The Golden Falls are located in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, 125 km northeast, 10 km north of Geyser, and one of Europe's famous waterfalls. The Gullfoss is 2,500 meters wide and 70 meters high. It is the largest fault canyon in Iceland. It has a drop of 32 meters and is divided into two layers. The first floor is 11 meters and the second floor is 21 meters. After that, it flows into a 2.5 kilometer long. In the crack of the rock. It has been given the name of gold in two sources. One is that there will be a rainbow in the sun, the whole waterfall is more like gold than white, and the other is that a pirate has hidden a gold name here. The sound of water can be heard faintly. When I approached the waterfall, I found myself standing on the edge of the cliff. The rushing waterfall is distributed in steps, without a high drop, up to 11 meters, but it is tens of meters wide. The sound of the water roared, and the canyon was covered with a thin layer of water mist. The huge roar is like the war of the Viking warriors.
