A place to include into your itinerary when you are in Tokyo. Hamarikyu Garden is a gatden dedicated to the olden Japanese history in a modern city of Japan. It is also landscape into a beautiful garden. You can come here by public train or take the boat ride from Asakusa. It is a paid entry garden and you can buy the tickets on the spot. There are many pine trees here and during different seasons, there are different seasonal flowers, giving a different landscape every time you come here. The beautiful golden colour flowers gives a vibrant foliage.

A creative landscapist shaped the leaves and branches of the pine trees beautifully. The tea house in the middle of the pond opens up to a tranquil skyscape. There is a shaded area where visitors may rest their tired legs, and share their bento meals. The low buildings built by the ancient noble family are thoughtfully conserved using traditional methods, making this an informative stop for the culture afficionados. We enjoyed the walk through this beautiful garden to take the river bus to Asakusa. There is also a river bus to Odaiba too. We intended to have some tea at the tea house but it’s temporarily closed. You can see where the emperor hunted and had gardens. Beautiful place to walk or catch the ferry.

Hama-rikyu Gardens
#cherryblossom2024
I embarked on an exhilarating adventure to the lively city of Japan during our vacation. The onset of spring transformed the surroundings into a paradise, and walking through Hama-rikyu Gardens invigorated us. Enveloped by breathtaking scenery in this serene sanctuary, we were captivated by the breathtaking sights that never ceased to impress us, forming indelible memories.
Hama-rikyu Garden in Tokyo distinguishes itself from other gardens in the city by showcasing not the typical weeping cherry blossoms or maple foliage, but rather the stunning bright pink plum trees that bloom during the late winter season. This serene garden, with a rich history as a hunting ground for the Tokugawa shogunate, now finds itself nestled amidst the towering structures of the Shiodome development, creating a unique blend of traditional and modern elements.
The allure of Hama-rikyu lies not only in its picturesque plum trees but also in the abundance of water features that surround it, creating a sense of tranquility and spaciousness that is truly captivating. Situated on reclaimed land, the garden is encircled by an ancient walled moat, offering two grand entrances via the Otemon and Naka-no-gomon bridges, with the added option of arriving by boat from Asakusa for a truly memorable experience.
The focal points of Hama-rikyu Garden include a vast tidal pond, home to two charming islands - one of which hosts a traditional teahouse - connected to the shore by elegant wooden bridges. Additionally, a striking 300-year-old pine tree serves as a photogenic centerpiece, adding to the garden's timeless beauty and allure. With its harmonious blend of natural elements and meticulous landscaping, Hama-rikyu Garden stands as a true oasis in the heart of bustling Tokyo.
This lavish and bewitching sanctuary has imprinted a permanent image in my mind. The immense joy of coming back and cherishing each moment in this unique haven is incomparable.#trip

Cherry blossoms in the light of lanterns
The flowering of Japanese cherries is almost synonymous with spring. At this time of the year, the whole country is awash in pink and white flowers. Huge crowds gather in large parks during hanami, the festival of admiring sakura. However, if you want to admire the delicate petals in peace and quiet, think about Hamarikyu Gardens.
How to get there
Hamarikyu Gardens are a short walk from several stations. It can also be reached by river tram from Asakusa.
The gardens can be reached in 15 minutes from Shimbashi Station or in five minutes from Shiodome Station on the Oedo Subway Line or the Yurikamome Line.
A Tokyo river tram docks at the pier next to the gardens. It follows the Sumida River Line route from Asakusa in 35 minutes — a pleasant alternative to the subway. The entrance fee to the gardens is included in the fare. However, to return to Asakusa by the same route, you will have to take a short boat trip to Hinode Pier — only from there the river tram will take you back to Asakusa.
It is interesting
During the Edo period (1603-1867), the shogun's residence stood here and duck hunting grounds were located
In the tea house on the pond, you can drink matcha tea with traditional Japanese sweets
They are beautiful both day and night
Sakura trees against the backdrop of the Shiodome skyscrapers are the embodiment of the contrast between old and modern Tokyo. Cherry blossoms are beautiful during the day, but after sunset, the backlight gives it a magical, unearthly charm.
The cherry blossom Festival in Hamarikyu Gardens usually takes place from the end of March to the beginning of April.

A park in the busy city of Tokyo
Such a beautiful park! As with many parks/gardens you have to pay a small fee but it is worthy. The park is surrounded by tall buildings. We enjoyed the trees and the calmness of the place. We managed to get on the last boat out to Sky Tree. That is also definitely worth it as you can sail up the Sumida River. If you go in Spring you will see the river banks full of cherry blossoms.
In 2024, I want to come here again.

Hamarikyu Garden
Hama-rikyū Gardens located at the mouth of the Sumida River in Tokyo is an urban oasis to escape the hustle and bustle of the mega-city. From the Tsukiji Outer Market, it's a five-minute walk. You can easily do both in half a day. According to the guide brochure, this was a family garden of Tokugawa Shogun which functioned as an outer fort for the Edo Castle. There are many bridges, ponds, ducks, ravens, and uniquely shaped trees to make this a worthwhile break from the hectic parts of Tokyo.
In 2024, I want to be back here.

Recommendations: 🍵 Participate in a traditional tea ceremony at Hama-rikyu Gardens. 🚢 Take a Sumida River Cruise for scenic views of Tokyo's skyline. 🍣 Try the omakase sushi experience at Sushizanmai in Tsukiji. 🏯 Visit the nearby Tokyo Tower for panoramic city views. 🌸 Time your visit for cherry blossom season for a magical experience.
Avoid rush hours on the metro; plan outings early or late to navigate comfortably. Engage with locals; Tokyoites are often eager to share insights into their city. For me, Tokyo's hidden harmony lay in the juxtaposition of serene gardens against the vibrant urban backdrop—a balance that encapsulates the essence of this dynamic city. #TokyoTranquility #HiddenGardens #UrbanEscape #SushiSerenade

Hama Rikyu, is a large, attractive landscape garden in central Tokyo. Located alongside Tokyo Bay, Hama Rikyu features seawater ponds which change level with the tides, and a teahouse on an island where visitors can rest and enjoy the scenery. The traditionally styled garden stands in stark contrast to the skyscrapers of the adjacent Shiodome district. #wintergetaway

Hamain Palace Grace Garden
This time I came to Tokyo, the cherry blossom season is coming to an end. One hour before sunset, I want to see the cherry blossoms. Sakura Information said that the old Shiba Palace and the Palace of the Palace were delayed for one hour during the cherry blossom season. The former was a short distance and preferred. After the rush, the time was just closed. The staff suggested that I go to Hamaiya. It turns out that this delay in closing the park is taking turns... Its really a plan to keep up with the changes and can only continue on the road in the rain.
The names of the two gardens are a bit like they have ever been the royal palace, and they were later given to Tokyo. The Binhai Palace is especially special for diverting seawater into the pool and admiring the tidal pool with different views of the tides and tides. There are also many marine fish habitats in the pool. Entering the garden is a large cherry tree, which makes people feel happy immediately. Although there are many skyscrapers around, the garden still has a natural and leisurely pace, which is also a unique scene in Tokyo. There are four royal tea houses around the pool of tides. If you have time, you can drink matcha and eat fruit at the Imperial Tea House in Nakajima. There are two other duck farms at the end of the year, as well as peony gardens and flower fields.
deany.
Its hard to connect Japan with rapeseed, but theres such a golden presence in the courtyard of the Palace of Tokyo in Tokyo, and its not like the rape blossoms. There are a lot of cherry blossoms, which are expected to bloom perfectly next week. Full of expectations.
After tasting seafood at the Tokyo parking market, walk for ten minutes to reach the palace of the palace, and the ticket is 300 yen. I dont think many parks in Japan are charged, but the posters at the entrance to the park are not necessarily the same. . The courtyard is very large and gives a very quiet and comfortable feeling. It is in sharp contrast with the surrounding high-rise buildings and enjoys such tranquility. At this time, in mid-March, the rape blossoms are in full swing. In the cherry blossom garden on the side of the rapeseed, some early cherry blossoms have been opened, and it is estimated that the full bloom will be at the end of the month.
There is a tea room in the park. Sitting at the lake and drinking tea and enjoying the flowers, I must have a taste.
