This restaurant located in the marketplace serves traditional Sanchae Bibimbap (mountain vegetables mixed rice) and other simple dishes such as scallion pancake, fried seafood etc. The taste of the bibimbap is very authentic where daily fresh greens were added in the rice, mixed with chilli sauce and sesame oil. We added a pancake to enhance the variety of our meal, and it is very tasty too. It is indeed a marvelous experience to shop and dine the traditional way. #celebratewithtrip #tripblazers

At the mountain foot of Jirisan near Hadong valley, lies a petite yet vibrate marketplace. This marketplace was established several hundred years ago during Joseon dynasty for merchants around the region to gather and sell/trade their goods as transportation is very inconvenient at the olden days. Today, it remained vibrant especially during weekend where people around the region and city area escape for a weekend getaway to visit and grab some high quality goods especially mushrooms, herbs and persimmons. There are also marketplace restaurants serving traditional food like bibimbap, dcallion pancake, beef soup with rice, raw freshwater fish etc. A truly great experience to visit and shop the traditional way. #fallingforfall #tripblazers

Just like the famous lyrics of Cho Young-nam's song, Hwagae Market is located by the Seomjin River! Although it was a smaller traditional market than I expected, the friendly merchants and seasonal specialties made it worth a visit if you're traveling to Hadong!

😋Let's eat this instead of noodles when you come to Hadong!! It's a restaurant inside Hwagae Market! I visited this restaurant during the cherry blossom season because I was curious about it after visiting Hwagae Market 3 times! The line was huge from the entrance. I waited in line, but luckily I got in within 10 minutes!! I didn't want to eat noodles when I came to Hadong, so I ordered a menu that you can only eat here! The side dishes were different for each menu. We ordered the regular three-color pot rice, jaecheop pot rice, and fried food. We were shocked to see that jaecheop soup, soybean paste stew, and crab stew, as well as 8 kinds of vegetables, were served!! I also ordered a mixed fried food small dish, and the portion was huge! The vegetable tempura was delicious, and it was the first time I ate fried icefish in my life, and it was delicious! Among them, the fried silverfish was really delicious! I took the fried food to go and ate it with beer at my lodging because I was eating the side dishes. You absolutely have to try the fried food, the best, the best!!! If you like vegetables, I recommend the set meal.
