This time I rented a car and drove from Kyoto to Amanohashidate, and then to Ine. We arrived in Ine around 2pm. Almost all the shops on the road were closed (or had already been closed). There were very few tourists, and there was almost no one to ask for directions. Ine is a village that is not well-known, so it is quite quiet. The houses are two stories. The lower floor is open to the public for boats to enter and exit, called Funaya, while the upper floor is used as a residence. Transportation (takes about 3 hours) 7.32 > Take the train from Kyoto station (JR Hashidate Kinosaki must reserve a seat first) 8.47 > Get off at Fukuchiyama station, then change to Tango relay 1 (6 minutes to change trains) 8.53 > Fukuchiyama station (Tango relay 1) 9.32 > Get off at Amanohashidate station, exchange the Kyoto Amanohashidate Ine Sightseeing 2-day pass at the station information counter, exit the station, wait for the bus at the bus stop in front of the station (on the same side as the station), there is 1 bus per hour (there is a bus schedule posted) 9.55 > Amanohashidate bus stop, take the bus for another 1 hour to Ine, the bus will pass through a tunnel and go around once, stopping at the Ine office > The next stop will be the point where you get off the sightseeing boat > Then it will be Ine village (Get off) 10.54 > Ine > Cross over to the bus stop on the opposite side where you got off, then check the return bus schedule to see what times there are (1 round per hour) ***Actually, there is a direct train between Kyoto station and Amanohashidate without having to change lines at Fukushiyama station, but the first train on this line starts at 8.38 and arrives at Amanohashidate at 10.40, and it will take almost noon to take the bus to Ine. I think the time to travel is too short because there are limited bus rounds.
