A beautiful resort for peaceful retreat

Excellent location for those who want to enjoy the scenery and the pure air of Lake Dianchi. Intercontinental Kunming is a luxurious retreat with large rooms and a luxuriant garden. Breakfast is good and the resort has several restaurants and a lounge for evening drinks while listening to live singing. The rooms are very comfortable with proper amenities and a very strong water pressure perfect for a relaxing hot shower. Hotel staff are polite and very attentive, helpful.

Coming to Kunming, experiencing the local customs of Kunming~ This time we chose [Kunming InterContinental Hotel] to stay at~ [Hotel Design] The architectural style integrates Eastern and Western cultures, as if a drunken architect accidentally mixed the two styles together during the design. Some people say it looks like a huge cake, while others think it is a flattened skyscraper. No matter how you describe it, this hotel will definitely make you laugh. [Fun Restaurant] In the hotel's restaurant, you will find that the names of the dishes on the menu are very interesting. For example, they have a dish called "Monkey Fried Noodles", but when you order this dish, the waiter will tell you that their chef is in a bad mood today and doesn't want to make this dish. This hilarious service attitude allows you to not only enjoy delicious food during the meal, but also have an unforgettable entertainment experience. [Special Elevator] When you walk into the elevator, you will find that the arrangement of the buttons is very interesting. These buttons look like they are pressed randomly, without any rules. You may find that after pressing the "2" floor button, you are actually sent to the "15" floor. This is not just a simple mistake, but a deliberate design by the hotel to bring more surprises to guests. Kunming InterContinental Hotel is a wonderful place that makes you laugh. InterContinental Kunming.

Stayed in the Executive Balcony Room at the InterContinental Kunming during the Qingming Festival. I saw mixed reviews about this hotel online, so here's my real experience. Check-in: We took a taxi to the east gate and found out it was the back door of the hotel. The hotel is quite large, and the lobby is very far from the east gate. The security guard enthusiastically contacted the concierge to pick us up from the east gate and take us to the lobby (p2). IHG Rewards Club members have a separate check-in room. The check-in process was very fast. We received two drink coupons and a welcome gift. Welcome fruit was delivered to our room every day (p1). The front desk staff personally showed us the way and took us to the concierge. The concierge took our luggage and took us to our room and gave us a brief introduction. Room: We were prepared for the old facilities before check-in. After check-in, we found that although the exterior was old, it did not affect our experience. The balcony (p3) has a side view of Dianchi Lake. The suites face Dianchi Lake. There are many mosquitoes in Yunnan at night, but the hotel has good mosquito control measures. There is also mosquito repellent in the room, so we did not feel uncomfortable at night.

Check-in and Check-out: There were quite a few people queuing at the front desk on the day, and I saw many people waiting at the front desk when passing by the main building late at night. The occupancy rate was quite high, but fortunately, I didn't have to wait for a room that day. I got my room card and checked in immediately after queuing, and the procedure was very fast. Check-out was simply returning the room card. Facilities and Services: I stayed in the VIP building this time, and even the first floor was very quiet. There was no odd smell in the room, and the facilities were not particularly old; the hardware was fine. The essence of the hotel lies in the public areas, with pleasant courtyard views outside the windows, and each building has its own characteristics. If you stay in the room for too long, you can go out for a walk, which is exactly the kind of urban resort life I dream of. I walked so much that I had no intention of going to the gym or the pool to look and take photos; I only took some pictures of the exterior. Services were problem-free. Dining: The breakfast was quite good, with many special snacks and even Eggs Benedict, which were of a high standard. I didn't get to visit the lounge, so I can't comment on that. Cleanliness: No issues. Additional Expenses: None this time. Value for Money: In the over one thousand price range, there probably aren't any competitors. Just the aesthetic alone crushes a host of high-priced business hotels. If you have the budget and want to stay nearby, I suggest trying it out for its extremely high value for money.

The guest bedroom has a spacious space and a grand bed, and the bathroom has double sinks on the opposite side plus a wet and dry separation, which is very exquisite. The room behind is the hotel's single-bedroom small villa type, enjoying a small garden with a simple soaking pool. Comments on the public areas: The InterContinental Hotel, located behind the Haigeng Auditorium, is very well situated, with its conference hosting position ready to emerge. The hotel covers a very large area, including a small lake. Entering the lobby from the main road, there is a beautiful wedding lawn in front of the lobby. Walking into the lobby building, the butterflies on the hotel's ceiling are very comforting to look at. Walking straight to the lobby bar, the lobby bar does not have a view of Dian Lake, but it has both indoor and outdoor areas, quite secluded. I've visited Yunnan in winter several times, always passing through Kunming in a hurry. It wasn't until I stayed at the InterContinental Hotel by Dian Lake that I truly slowed down. In the winter of Kunming, most of the hustle and bustle comes from the red-beaked seagulls by the lake, and staying at this hotel offers the convenience of being close to the water. The hotel's name doesn't include the word 'resort,' but both the environment and the amenities exude a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere. There's a garden under the Haigeng Dam, surrounded by green trees, where you can enjoy the water, watch seagulls, sip tea, and step into the springs. The Black Pearl Restaurant offers all the details one would expect from a city resort, and this hotel, which knows the human heart well, arranges everything clearly. Upgrading to the hot spring suite, there are hardly any flaws except for slightly less natural light. A one-bedroom suite with two bathrooms and a large round bathtub, plus an outdoor courtyard with a hot spring pool. The spacious space brings mental relaxation; in the morning, sunlight filters through the trees, casting a mottled light and shadow into the room, where you can nestle in a lounge chair and while away the time with a cup of Kung Fu tea. At night, you can further relax your body and mind in the misty water waves accompanied by pleasant music. Such a lovely hotel is worth praising as it makes you immerse yourself unconsciously.
