InterContinental Bugis (Lounge)
#singaporetrip
Here I am with another hotel review; I did it on Singaporetrip rather than hotel reviews since I wanted to get the extra 50 coins, but since this hotel is in Singapore, why not give it a shot? I might be earning smart coins instead. Who knows.
Let us get started without further ado.
The greatest thing to do is wake up early and have a nice breakfast in this peaceful lounge. You can take picture-perfect photos, and the staff is incredibly understanding of your need to take pictures.
The breakfast was rather good, I must admit, and I indulged like a tiger in trying every dish. It is the InterContinental Bugis Hotel, as my title indicated.

InterContinental Singapore
In Singapore, there are two InterContinental hotels and this particular one is located in Bugis! This hotel is more convenient to travel to as it is a stone’s throw away from the Bugis train station. In addition, it is directly connected to Bugis Junction, a shopping mall where you can easily access a ton of restaurants and retail stores, as well as groceries from the supermarket.
There are also three dining options within the hotel itself so if you don’t feel like venturing out, you can definitely settle all your meals in-house. At the time of visit, they had displays of mooncakes and other pastries in the lobby to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival season!
My overall rating of the experience: 4 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pet Staycation at Intercontinental Singapore
Our stay at Intercontinental Singapore for a pet staycation in the Heritage Suite with Outdoor Porch alongside @cocathecockapoo , was absolutely fantastic. The hotel truly knows how to create a luxurious and pet-friendly experience that exceeded our expectations.
•
Coca’s excitement was evident as she eyed the welcome amenity basket, plush pet bed, and gourmet treats provided. The hotel’s attention to detail and thoughtfulness in catering to her needs made her feel like a cherished guest.
•
The in-room breakfast and classic afternoon tea for two were delightful moments and seeing Coca’s anticipation as she eyed the delectable treats added to the joy of the experience. The $50 nett in-room dining credit allowed us to explore the room service menu, with an exclusive pet-friendly menu that allowed us to dine together in the comfort of our room, enjoying each other’s company.
•
Although dogs were not allowed in the club lounge, the staff’s kindness and willingness to accommodate our needs were remarkable. Their assurance to bring food and drinks from the lounge directly to our room showed their commitment to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction.
•
In summary, our pet staycation at @interconsin was an incredible experience. The hotel’s attention to detail, pet amenities, and exceptional service made us feel truly special. Coca and I created cherished memories and had a fantastic time. We look forward to returning for another unforgettable stay in the future.

Intercontinental Bugis Architecture
Conveniently located together with a shopping mall and with an mrt nearby and tons of eateries around too, Intercontinental Singapore is one of THE place in Singapore.
The hotel also has two wings: Heritage Wing and Main Tower. Both connected by the same lifts. A thing to note is some rooms in this wing can be a distance from the lifts. The rooms and suites in the heritage wing are in replicated shop houses and are designed with that time of a hundred years ago in mind.
The hotel has a distinct Peranakan feel which is evident throughout the hotel. The photos here are just a snippets of the numerous items all over the hotel. Book a stay to see!

Classic Heritage Wing Room 341
First thing to note is that this hotel has two wings. Heritage and Main Tower. The heritage wing is located amongst a row of shophouses and retains the style of a hundred years ago. Very different experience as compared to cookie cutter normal rooms.
Positives:
- large 38 square metre room
- Lovely lovely room design
- Comfortable bed and choice of pillow menu
- TV has Chromecast (media hub as well)
- double vanity sinks
- superb water pressure
Negatives
- no bedside usb charging (there are usb charging ports by the work desk)
- manual curtains and blinds
- no heated toilet bowl nor bidet
- fixed shower hose position is a little bothersome

Intercontinental Singapore room & facilities
The junior suite has a very strong colonial style which is in sync to the hotel style in general. It has the size of 52 square meters and comes with a bathtub and two tvs! One tv is at the sofa area and another one at the bed. To my surprise, the tv rack is movable so even if the working desk is perpendicular to it, I can tilt it to face the working desk!
However, do take note the it's a heritage hotel so some of the infrastructure might be faulty such as the air conditioning which was very kindly fixed due to the fast response from the front desk and the maintenance team.
The swimming pool is fairly decent and doesn't come with a fantastic view of the city but nevertheless it's still functional and comes with a jacuzzi as well. The gym is connected to the pool through a staircase so you don't have to take another level down through the lift again.

Heritage hotel located at the heart of bugis
Located in heart of bugis, Intercontinental Singapore is a heritage hotel that is originally from the shophouses from the 1920s. Due to the rich hertage of this hotel, you will be awed by the strong mixture of colonial and peranakan style design in the lobby, and definitely not forgetting the friendly doorman that is always serving you with smile right at the doorstep.
The staffs are very friendly and accomodating to my request when i requested to add on club access to my room and to my surprise, my room was upgraded to the junior suite without any extra charges! The staff also allowed me to have my afternoon tea first while waiting for the room as well.
The club lounge also has a very strong colonial style to it and the staff were very attentive as well especially when they noticed that my food is finishing, they will check with me on whether i need more. It's also very cosy so i can frequently see guests coming in to hang out or to have any small business meetings.
The breakfast are fairly decent but do take note that the breakfast area is at level 1 if you do not have club access. It replaces the restaurant named LUCE by Davide Giacomelli and it's called "The Breakfast Room". I didn't noticed at first so I hope no one makes the same mistake as I am!
My travel wishlist is Taiwan!

I love how spacious their rooms are at the intercontinental hotel located at the bugis area. The hotel is conveniently located beside the parco mall. The hotel room resembles the European vibe and has a comfortable bed and deep soaking bathtub. It would be a very memorable staycation this year.
My 2023 travel wish is to fly to Dubai. I would love to visit the world's highest building located at Burj khalifa. I would very much love to have a night stay at their resort hotel that resembles a palm size. It would be great to explore their culture and have a ride on their camels in the desert.

Where to dine at InterContinental
Address - LUCE by Davide Giacomelli, InterContinental Hotel, 80 Middle Road, Singapore 188966
If you are staying at the InterContinental Singapore, I highly recommend checking the hotel’s new Italian restaurant, LUCE. After some minor refurbishment, it looks a little more refreshed and contemporary with an inviting warm ambience. The food is delicious and flavourful too but it does take quite a while to be served so be prepared to wait.

Grand Entrance of InterContinental Singapore
Name of Place: InterContinental Singapore
Location: 80 Middle Rd, Singapore 188966
As one can see that the Grand Entrance of InterContinental Singapore is very beautiful and welcoming. The centrepiece which is the large potted flowers in the driveway is a pretty sight to drive by as you come in to check in to the hotel.
The main porch area is large and is able to host at least 3 cars and is well sheltered to protect guests against harsh weather. At the very front, there is this attentive hotel staff (Doorman) waiting excitedly to meet and greet guests as they get down from their vehicle. One thing different I noticed here is instead of a red carpet the front of the hotel uses a royal blue carpet, which was nice for a change.

InterContinental Singapore - Bugis Entrance
Name of Place: InterContinental Singapore
Location: 80 Middle Rd, Singapore 188966
InterContinental Singapore Bugis is located very conveniently on the middle road, it is also situated right about the Bugis MRT Station. As I was meeting my friends for a high tea at InterContinental Singapore, I decided to arrive at the hotel via MRT. I alighted at Bugis MRT Station and walked towards Victoria Street and entered into the little glass-domed area of Bugis junction's Street village. From there finding InterContinental Singapore's entrance is easy as it is easily identified with the huge logo right at the front. This is a quick and easy side entrance for those who aren't driving and is coming via public transport.

Luce is a famous restaurant located in InterContinental Singapore Bugis it is opened by the
world-renowned chef Davide Giacomelli. Customers usually come here to enjoy fine Italian cuisine dished out by chef Davide himself.
When my friends and I were there we saw the place getting ready for the semi-buffet lunch menu. The Semi Buffet lunch is at 48++ per person and it comes with a starter, you can choose from either a salad or a soup. For the main, you have fantastic Barramundi and finish it off with a signature special their own homemade tiramisu.

Kids Theme Room
My kid had fun with the slide and little hideouts around the room on a rainy day. All the kids amenities were readily available in the room and I didnt need to request for it unlike other hotels. The room was spacious and clean.
The room was located on the 3rd floor without any views, which was kind of disappointing.
I'm not sure if it's because the room was located near the service lift, there was a loud banging sound every 15 min. It went all the way past midnight and started as early as 7am. I kept hearing backgound sounds as though I was in an airplane. Definitely not for light sleepers.
There was a stale food smell at the corridoor too due to the close proximity to the banquet rooms.
No carpark coupon given.
Overall for the price point, I wouldn't be back again. Would like to try out pan pacific urban jungle!!!

Ash & Elm breakfast buffet
Enjoy a sumptous breakfast buffet at the Ash & Elm restaurant located at Intercontinental Hotel Singapore at Bugis area.
Located right next to Bugis shopping mall, the hotel restaurant serves a wide array of breakfast items for hotel guests. The American continental breakfast included sunny side up eggs, grilled tomatoes as well as hashbrown and sausages.
We also ordered the ham and cheese omelette which was pretty good and served with sautéed mushrooms. The kids ordered pancakes which were pretty cute and served with fresh strawberries and blueberries. There were many other hot and cold items available as well but we were too full to try all of them!

Ash & elm for Club InterContinental lounge
During my stay in InterContinental Singapore, I managed to snag a deal from trip.com for a room with club access.
In InterContinental Singapore, room with club lounge access will entitled the guest to enjoy an inclusive breakfast, afternoon high tea and evening cocktail sessions.
I had my breakfast and after high tea session in the ash & elm restaurant as the club lounge was closed when I stayed in March 2022.
The service was fantastic, with the server remembering that we don't take sugar with our coffee just after one order. All the afternoon high tea items are refillable and the staff were very enthusiastic with the refilling.
Definitely one of the best service I received in Singapore.

Colonial Peranakan history
Address - InterContinental Hotel, 80 Middle Road, Singapore 188966
Nestled at the cross junction between Middle Road, Victoria Street and North Bridge Road, InterContinental Hotel is a testament to Singapore’s history as a colonial nation with a multi-cultural heritage.
Its aesthetic was designed to perfectly marry British colonial architecture with elements of Peranakan symbols, such as the elaborate ornamentation on the ceilings and furniture. Definitely take the time to admire the beautiful classic Peranakan tiles on the base of the columns in the Lobby Lounge, absolutely exquisite.
Take a walk and explore the hotel grounds and you’ll find many hidden gems of cultural artefacts and art!

Peranakan heritage art
Address - InterContinental Hotel, 80 Middle Road, Singapore 188966
All over the InterContinental Hotel are heritage works of art and collectibles inspired by Singapore’s Peranakan heritage! Peranakan culture is basically a marriage between the Chinese and Malay/Indonesian cultures.
There are different varieties of crockery and dish ware on display in wooden shelves that resemble those that were used back in the olden days. A traditional dress top is also preserved and displayed on the lobby wall. This hotel is great for those who appreciate that extra dose of local heritage in the form of art!

Holy Weekend Stay at Intercontinental SG
Hotel InterContinental Singapore
Address - 80 Middle Road, Singapore
Features/Highlights - 3 room types (based on the hotel’s website): Standard, Executive & Suite; swimming pool; gym
Ave. Rate : 230SGD++ (King Bed Classic; trip.com weekend sale)
Trip Experience Rating : 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 out of 5 stars
Upon check-in, 100SGD deposit was requested. Room was paid for already as I booked via trip.com.
Let me itemize why I enjoyed my stay even if I just booked a Classic room:
* I love that the room is spacious - even with the 2-seater sofa & separate desk & chair;
* I can check my hair or outfit at any part of the room since it has lots of mirror at different locations 😂;
* There is an abundance of ports (usb & plug) so next time I go back with family or friends, we don’t have to “compete” for the ports when we have to charge our phones and other gadgets;
* I had a nice view of the hotel’s front and the swimming pool (easier to check if there are lots of people at a specific time! haha!);
* The hotel has a very good entertainment system (chromecast & spotify available! yey!!!);
* The bathroom has built-in speakers & volume control panel. So, even if I had to use the toilet, I didn’t miss anything from what I was watching since I can still hear the audio. I appreciated this feature even more when I was in the bathtub since I can listen to spotify while having a good soak. Their bathtub also have handlebars.
* The hotel is adjacent to a mall so I was able to do a bit of shopping before turning in for the night. No scarcity of dining options either.
* There was a heated pool spa at one of the corners of the swimming pool area. The air jets are positioned on the seats. So, you have to lay down if you want the water pressure to massage your legs, back and arms. Otherwise, only your bottom part will be massaged! 🤣
* The gym is big and there is a separate section at the back for TRX suspension workouts. Only one TRX band though.
I will be on the lookout for trip.com promos for this hotel. If I enjoyed my stay even while only in their lowest type of room, I would definitely enjoy more if I book one of their Executive Room or Suite! 😉

Intercontinental Singapore Presidential Suite
I had the fortunate opportunity to stay in Intercontinental Singapore Presidential Suite during my birthday week. Located on the highest floor of the hotel, and once we stepped inside this 259sqm high-ceilinged Presidential residence, I was mesmerised with the beautifully decorated living room lit up by a elegant chandelier, and natural light filling up the room.
•
There will be two hallways from the living room, with one leading to the bedroom, the other leading to a dedicated study area and a lavish dining room (which can be converted into a boardroom) that seats up to 12 guests. Heading back to the other side of the suite, it leads to the bedroom which is twice the size of a regular bedroom, with a walk in closet. The spacious ensuite bathroom is designed in a black and white monochrome theme, and it comes with a bathtub that functions as a jacuzzi as well, with just a push of the button. The unique part of the bathroom, it houses a private sauna room within that comfortably accommodate 2 - 3 adults.
•
Overall, I am blessed to have the experience of staying in the Presidential Suite. It was luxurious and comfortable with ample space, it served everything i need for my stay and led to a pleasant and relaxing experience at Intercontinental Singapore. #staycation #sghotels #hotelstay #sgstaycation

Intercontinental Bugis Singapore Staycation
Centrally located, the Intercontinental Bugis Singapore has large rooms, comfy beds and everything you would need on a holiday. It’s back door also leads directly to Bugis Junction where there is a lot of dining and eateries available. Especially loved the high ceilings in the lobby/ dining lounge where you can take many picture perfect shots over High tea. They also have many in house promos for guests like 20% off if you join their IHG Membership. Enjoyed myself thoroughly and will be back to experience more of the suites and other rooms.

Relaxing couple staycation
I have always been wanting to try out the InterContinental Hotel in Bugis for the longest time.
When trip.com had a super deal for it, I decided to jump on it as the price was too good to pass on! Managed to book the club intercontinental king room for $377.
Received email confirmation from them one week before my stay. Asked for early check-in and was informed that it's subject to availability.
On the day of check in, I arrived at 12 noon and there wasn't much queue. Check in was fast and smooth. Room was big and clean. There's also a big work table for my husband to do his work. Bathtub is big but maybe requires a little maintenance due to the age.
Went down for high tea at 2pm. Great service by the staff. Husband generally don't like hotels food but he was rather pleased with it. You can ask for seconds if you want.
Cocktail time starts from 630pm. Staffs are friendly and are attentive.
It was an enjoyable staycation for my husband and I. I will definitely be back again

Suite Surprise @ Intercontinental Singapore
The Intercontinental Singapore is located in Bugis with easy access to both the East-West and Downtown MRT Lines. It is also a walking distance to the Civic District with its museums and galleries, as well as the nearby Arab Street, Bussorah Streets with heritage landmarks like the Sultan Mosque and old shophouses populated by cafes and restaurants to explore. The hotel is joined to the Bugis Junction shopping mall with several F&B offerings as well as a supermarket downstairs.
We booked a room through the Suite Surprise promotion and got a Heritage Suite and a very early check-in when the room was available. Despite the fine print that the offer would not grant IHG Rewards Club benefits, the hotel was gracious to offer a late-check out, bonus points as well as dining credit for a Platinum Ambassador.
The Premier Suite was located on the 15th floor, 1515 and faces the Bugis Market, Raffles Hospital side where you could see Sim Lim Tower, Duo, Kampong Glam, Liang Seah Street etc which was really nice. The bed was very comfortable and the the television offers a wide range of complimentary movies. I like that the fridge is now empty and you could easily keep your own drinks chilled in side.
The Premier Suite comes with access to the Club Lounge on the 2nd floor, it is a cosy, space, designed to look like those old-world hotels with some Shophouse-like decor. It can be quite crowded over the weekends especially during the December holidays. The food was generally okay. We had both afternoon tea and breakfast here. We found the food to be average with some nice items such as the Executive Dim Sum set or the petite Pulut Hitam cake. We also ordered in-room dining with our dining credits : the Tiramisu Cake with coffee ice cream was excellent. The chargrilled burger we had was on the dry side. Prices for breakfast in-room cost around 20-40 SGD.
This stay is during the Phase 2 of the Covid-19 pandemic phase, there were hand-sanitizers provided at the lift lobbies and at public spaces around the hotel, there were temperature checks, the staff were wearing masks through out and temperature checks were made at the main entrances. Social distancing is a little challenging around the lifts due to the crowd but otherwise it seems fine elsewhere.
Overall, it was a comfortable stay despite a little inconveniences here and there. The hotel does a nice job of keeping everything running smoothly despite the pandemic and the crowd from the peak season.

InterContinental Singapore Suite Room
Amazing service that already began when we alighted at the drop-off point (: The intricately dressed doorman, whose uniform reminded me of those at Raffles Hotel, warmly welcomed us to the property. Most of the staff were encountered were also equally helpful and approachable.
The suite room was large and spacious, designed with an amalgamation of European and Peranakan flair. I loved that there was a bathtub too, perfect for soaking. However, I would’ve liked for the windows to entirely take up that side of the room instead of having a random wall in the middle. That really interrupted the view of the surrounding areas significantly.
