No one wants to travel to Jakarta, right? Poverty and wealth are separated by a wall.
When I returned to China at the end of the winter vacation, I had no choice but to go to Jakarta because I didn't have a suitable flight ticket.
Most of the inertial comments about this city come from the Internet: a super city with a population of 30 million, terrible traffic, dirty and messy, poverty and wealth are separated by a wall, speeders touch their mobile phones, and there are even stinky original underwear sold in packages... I feel, well, You can come here to practice before going to India.
At the same time, Jakarta is also the fastest sinking city on earth. It will become the contemporary "Atlantis" in 2050. Just because of this name, let's go shopping. To sum up: it is more interesting than imagined, but not much.
.
Picture ①: Kuningan City
The parking lot on the sixth floor above Gate 1 is currently the best auction location in Jakarta, perfectly reflecting the characteristics of this city.
Figure ②: Jakarta History Museum
It is a Dutch heritage building in 1707. Most of the museum's exhibits are from the 17th to 19th centuries. It is not large in area and the content is relatively hard-core. Many students will come to visit. It is very enthusiastic and healed by their smiles.
Picture ③: Kuningan City
Rotary parking lot.
Figure ④: Jakarta Cathedral
Gothic cathedral from 1891, the third largest Catholic church in the world.
Picture ⑤: Istiklal Mosque
I went there on Friday to worship and didn't go inside. The window grilles are all made of stainless steel and are unique.
Picture ⑥: Cafe Batavia
A century-old coffee shop, opposite the history museum, the food is average, you have to go to the toilet, you know.
Picture ⑦: Gaya Spa Wellness Wolter Monginsidi
The horse-killing chicken restaurant most recommended by domestic bloggers can be visited by couples together. It cost about 900rmb for two people, and the technique was good. I was pushed to sleep. After pressing the button, meals will be included on the second floor.
Figure ⑧: Bundaran HI
The bus station has the best seats. There is no subway in Jakarta, so we mainly rely on buses.
Picture ⑨: Pasar Barang Antik
Surabaya Antique Street has a lot of strange things.
Picture ⑩: Giyanti Coffee Roastery
The coffee shop across from the antique street, ranked ninth on the Asian Coffee Top50 list, is the only one in Jakarta. I think the coffee is okay, and I think it tastes better.
Figure ⑪: HW Phoenix Bar PIK
Don’t go to other beaches in Jakarta, it feels like the 1980s. PIK 2 near the airport is not bad. It is known as Little Bali and is relatively trendy. At this phoenix, you can eat, drink, listen to music, and recommend cocktails 🍸.
Picture ⑫: Twelve Chinese Dining Restaurant
The 12 zodiac themed restaurant, the decoration is very flashy, the Chinese food tastes good, Australia comes back to save the Chinese stomach.

Jakarta History Museum KOTA TUA
Jakarta History Museum, also known as Batavia Museum is located at Kota Tua. As a solo traveller, I choose to walk here after my visit at Glodok China Town, which took me around 15 minutes on foot.
The entrance fee is cheap, at IDR5,000. You can see lots of collection from the Dutch colonisation such as ceramics, historical maps, paintings and archeological items.
The building compound is spacious and you can ride a bicycle within the compound. At the exit, you can grab a beautiful and nicely crafted souvenir to bring back home.
Wayang Museum and Fine Art/Ceramic Museum also located next to the Jakarta History Museum.

The Historical Old Town of Jakarta
#100waysoftravel
The Jakarta History Museum, also known as Batavia Museum, is located in the #KotaLama / Old Town of Jakarta, Indonesia. The building was built in 1710 as the Stadhuis of Batavia…
The three stories grand building was built similar to Dam Palace in Amsterdam, which is the present look.
During Dutch colonization, it was used as a city hall and it even has dungeons or narrow, dark and dank jails in it’s basement
The jails are quite famous because several Indonesian heroes and heroines were once held prisoners here, including Prince Diponegoro and Cut Nyak Dien. The jail is open for public view, but the entrance is not inside, it is outside, at the back of the building….

Turn Back Time in Old Batavia
#weekendgetaways
This historic district, once known as Batavia, was the heart of the Dutch East Indies in the 17th and 18th centuries. Its cobblestone streets, grand colonial buildings, and horse-drawn carriages evoke a bygone era of grandeur and trade.
Wander through Fatahillah Square, the central plaza lined with museums like the Jakarta History Museum and the Wayang Puppet Museum. Admire the neo-classical architecture of the former City Hall, now the Fine Art and Ceramic Museum. Take a break at Batavia Cafe, housed in a restored Dutch warehouse, and savor a cup of coffee amidst the old-world ambiance.

A Day in Kota Tua
If you get to spend a day in Jakarta, Kota Tua should be your top choice for a place to visit, especially for someone who loves museums. You get to visit various museums in one area with walking distance, such as Museum Bank Indonesia and Museum History. Do take note that all the museums are open until 3PM. In here, you can also taste Indonesian cuisine in Batavia cafe or simply stroll around the park.

From a City Hall to Jakarta History Museum⁉️
#timetotravel
The Jakarta History Museum (also known as Fatahillah Museum/Museum Sejarah Jakarta) is housed in the former City Hall located in the old part of the city now known as Jakarta Kota. Its few hundred meters behind the port and warehouses of Sunda Kelapa.
The building was built in 1710 and Originally called the Stadhuis, this building was the administrative headquarters of the Dutch East India Company, and later of the Dutch Government.
What is inside the Jakarta History Museum? Most of the collection were paraphernalia from sixteenth century, such as furnitures, clothes, books, maps, potteries, and weapons.
Kota Tua/Jakarta Kota/Old Town has more than the history of this particular museum. It has five other museums and a few historical buildings, have you checked them all out?
