🚌 Getting There
Solitary Hill is neither too big nor too small, just find a comfortable way to get there. When it's comfortable and not crowded, you can take bus we1314, which is a favorite in Hangzhou.

1️⃣ After the most beautiful turn at Xiling Bridge, below Solitary Hill (in red), the benches on the mountain path and the Jingyi School halfway up the hill are great spots for checking in and taking photos.
2️⃣ There are also many places to visit around Solitary Hill, such as the Xiling Seal Art Society, Zhejiang Museum, and art galleries. You can stroll around slowly by following the scenic area navigation map.
3️⃣ Except for the art galleries and museums that require reservations, everything else is free.
4️⃣ If time permits, you can end your visit with a sunset over West Lake from the Broken Bridge or any spot where you think the view is good. It will be fantastic.

Recommendations for visiting Jingyi Academy
Jingyi Academy is an ancient academy located at No. 1 Gushan Road, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. It was built in the 24th year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty and was founded by Zhao Shilin, the governor of Zhejiang. This academy carries the dreams of countless literati and is a holy place for them to seek knowledge and exchange ideas. It has a profound cultural heritage and a simple and elegant architectural style.
The academy is located in Gushan Park. After entering the front gate of the park, walk up the mountain road for seven or eight minutes, and you will see the Crane Pavilion on your left hand side. Further up is the tomb of Lin and Jing, and Jingyi Academy is above the tomb. The academy does not require a ticket and is completely free. There are different beautiful scenes in each season, especially in autumn. The golden leaves all over the ground and the white walls and black tiles of the academy are interesting, and the scenery is beautiful.
The ginkgo trees in front of the academy are arranged in a surrounding manner, like a golden barrier. The layers of fallen leaves on the ground are like a gorgeous carpet, adding a bit of poetry to this ancient courtyard. Here, you can feel the elegance and bookishness of ancient literati, and you can also appreciate the quietness and simplicity of Gushan.
