Jiu Fen is a town that built on side of the Moutain located in Ruifang District of New Tapei. there is a distance from the city of Taipei , however you can reach here by the public transport.
Jiu Fen is really worth to visit especially when you are first time in Taiwan . the people here are friendly and the architecture is amazing 🤩
I book a join in tour, driver will pick you up from the hotel and going to Jiu Fen and other 2 attractions along the journey .

a town that inspired Spirited Away 🎥🏮
I went to Taipei earlier this summer and didn’t want to just stay within Taipei City, so I decided to hire a driver to drive us around the outskirts of Taipei, and Jiufen is the third stop.
Jiufen is up on a hill so there’s quite a bit of stairs and slope. The movie Spirited Away was inspired by Jiufen so a lot of souvenir shops sell Spirited Away merchandise, it is definitely worth a visit if you are a fan.
Jiufen is not difficult to manoeuvre as it is just one main street. We went for the taro balls soup at 阿柑姨 (see last pic) as recommended by the driver and it did not disappoint!! (the driver said this is the only place she would go for taro ball haaha)

👹🏮Spirited Away to Jiufen, Taiwan 🚞⛰️
Jiufen, Taiwan, a hidden gem that will transport you into a whimsical world like in Spirited Away. Getting there is half the adventure, as you wind through picturesque mountains and narrow streets. Once you arrive, prepare to be enchanted by the attractions—stroll through Jiufen Old Street, where traditional tea houses and souvenir shops beckon. Indulge in delectable street food like steaming bowls of noodle soup and mouthwatering pineapple cakes. For a truly unforgettable experience, stay at a charming hotel overlooking the ocean. And don't forget to unleash your inner shopaholic as you browse the eclectic mix of local handicrafts, tea leaves, and handmade trinkets. Jiufen is a real-life Spirited Away dream come true!
Getting There: Jiufen is approximately an hour's drive from Taipei. Take a bus from Taipei Main Station or MRT Fuzhou Station for a budget-friendly option.
Attractions: Explore Jiufen Old Street, visit A-Mei Tea House, enjoy panoramic views from Jiufen Viewing Deck, and discover the mining history at the Gold Museum. We recommend staying 2D1N to explore other nearby attractions and seaside walking trails.
Hotels: Listening to the Wind B&B is one of the best accommodation options in Jiufen, for its excellent location at the highest point right above the Old Street, very comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast and warm hospitality by the owner and team.
Shopping: Li Yi pineapple cakes, Salmon Fish Floss, Home Slippers

Jiufen, A place where of Sky Lantern & Wishes
#newyearadventure #jiufen #lantern #attractions #taiwan
There are many popular tourists attractions located around taiwan, there is one where you shouldn't miss called jiufen where there you will be able to see each lanterns being lifted up into the sky. This is where tourists flock here to make a wish by writing onto the lantern, most stalls here sell the lanterns so you won't miss it. It will cost you the same price thruout the entire area as this ensure there is no price hike.
This is an old gold mine, where miners also once lived. You will be letting these lanterns go right on the train tracks but do take note this is a service railway, so once in awhile you will see the train pass by.
There are also alot of stores here that sells local Taiwanese food, its not that expensive to be honest and plus, they are really good too!

Are you looking for a hotel stay here in JiuFen where you are high above the mountains overlooking thr Town Of JiuFen and the view of the ocean from far? Imagine waking up to this every morning!
One place you can go is the Jiufen Ocean Story located at No. 59, Lunding Rd., Jiufen, Ruifang, New Taipei 224 Taiwan where this hotel is like a homestay where this is a huge bungalow but split into little rooms. But fret not these room have individual toilets and private rooms and comfy beds. If you book the room with ocean view you will be able to see the ocean on a clear mountain day.
Parking wise here in Jiufen can be abit tough unless you are okay to park at the too of the mountain where it provides free parking but it can be abit of a climb.
Jiufen is a place you have to go at least once, and do remember to boon you hotels early as it can get fully booked out.

Jiufen Ah Gan Yi Taro Balls
This is the best Taro Balls dessert I have ever had so far. At first I ordered a hot one, it tasted amazingly delicious. The soup was red and green bean soup with chewy purple and orange colour balls. After a walk, I came back again for a second bowl. This time I had a cold one. Both are equally delicious. All the taro balls and sweet potato balls are handmade in the shop. I got a seat next to the window, it was so relaxing admiring the greenery mountain view and beautiful skyline. You have to walk all the way up to reach this cafe. It is usually crowded with tourists. Service was fast.

Jiu Fen - This is where the movie Spirited Away got its inspiration from. Weather was chilly and it’s about 1 hour journey from downtown Taipei. Shops are old school and pretty touristy. Nevertheless, still a great spot for photos and walkabouts.

When TAIWAN is cheaper than BKK, you go!
Taiwan just fully opened up last month and Singaporeans WERE NOT PREPARED. Tickets to BKK went all the way to over 700 SGD on budget airlines such as Scoot and Air Asia.
I was not going to pay such an exorbitant price for BKK, when Starlux Airlines was offering a full service return trip to Taipei for UNDER 400 SGD (selected dates, cheapest I’ve seen was 360+)!!! Look at that salivating Hutong beef bento offered on board, and signature cocktails to pair with the meal? Hell yea!
But is Taiwan worth it for a 4D3N trip? Isn’t it too short? One might ask? Definitely Taiwan should be a lengthy trip, but with cheap air tickets and boutique hotels in the heart of the city at 50 SGD, I say #yolo !!!
For a short trip, it is advisable to stay within Taipei, where you can spend the nights roaming the many night markets such as Raohe, Shihlin and Ningxia. Loads of food and you will never go hungry!
Days can be spent visiting famous spots such as Jiufen, Shifen, take a trip up to Xiang Shan for a scenic view of Taipei 101. Personally, I took a cable car ride up MaoKong for tea and probably the best pork katsu curry I’ve had in my life.
And with the new Taipei Airport Rail which will bring you to Taipei Main Station in under 40 minutes at 6 SGD plus amazing trains connecting you to major tourists spots… why beat BANGKOK JAM when you can rock and roll in TAIWAN?? Better book your trip before the prices go skyrocketing!

Jioufen, New Taipei City - Taiwan: Another famous attraction that every tourist has to visit. The signature here is the red lantern along the old building which is even more beautiful at night. There are some local shops, teahouse, local foods at every corner.

Jiufen is a beautiful location to visit in Taiwan! If you have watched Spirited Away and liked the film, then I think you would like this place 😊 While you enjoy the lanterns and food, I recommend trying the tea at Amei Teahouse!

Taiwan in winter is not too cold, even in the mountains or the sea, there is warm sunshine. Jiufen Old Street and very old street are as full of people as before, but if you walk out of the crowd, you can get a quiet place. The head of the wild willow is still magical, and the feeling of the winter beach is even more special.
Sir_Xiao_Huya.
Jiufen Mountain City, houses are dotted along the steep hillsides, high and low, high and low, the level is gradually clear, the night is more charming, always reminds people of Lijiang, Yunnan, China, but compared to the noise of Lijiang night, there are many nine coffees here. There are many shops, and the song "Jiufen's Coffee Shop" by Taiwanese singer Chen Yu is from here. Jiufen has no hotels and no hotels, but there are many houses for accommodation. Taipei took the train to Ruifang Station, and then took the bus to Jiufen Old Street. When I got off the bus, I picked up the camera and took a Western shoot. I tasted the gourmet snacks along the way. This may be the result of many tourists coming to Jiufen. Things. It is more like Zeng Yuan's 10 years ago in Xiamen. It is very lively but literary. Jiufen's nostalgic landscape attracts many tourists, mainly in the streets of Jishan Street, Liqiqi Road and Light Road. Jiufen's nostalgic atmosphere naturally inherits many foods, such as round rice. In addition to the original sweet potato and taro flavors, there are special matcha, sesame and yam flavors, both hot and cold. Basically, Jiufen's attractions are not in the network introduction, nor in the books, nor in the recommendation of friends, but in your exploration! The beauty of Jiufen, if you are the earlier, you can see the nine copies of the cockroach, the nine copies of the rain, the nine winds blowing the wind, not the old streets, the nine voices of the voice!

Mushroom Jun's Asian travel
Taiwan, Jiufen
Jiufen has been occupied by tourists, but I still want to take a look. When I was young, I always felt that I should go to some niche, not known to others, and even go to the Great Wall in Beijing to take a look. At the beginning of this year, I climbed the Great Wall for the first time and stood on the city overlooking the moment. Only then did I find that the place I was familiar with had a view.
Due to the movie "Tragic City" in Jiufen, the unique old-style architecture, sloping land and style of the film attracts attention from both home and abroad through this film, and it also brings life to this town.
There are too many tourists in the old town, but after 9:00 in the evening, they are extraordinarily clean. The shops are closed one after another. The tourists leave by car and the car is gone. The old city is exposed at this time. The face. The moonlight blew down from the roof, leaving a trail of light on the stone road.
Here should be a place with witches?
Oh, yes, in addition to the round, the curry fish balls are also very delicious, biting a bit of lips and teeth.

Things you can do for Taipei 5D4N Trip
If you have 5 days in Taipei, here something you can do:
Day1: Arrived at Taipei Taoyuan Airport in the morning, take trains to Taipei Station, have breakfast and walking trip under street of Taipei Station, take train to 101 Tower, then go to Xi Men Ding district to eat and shopping, at the evening check in hotel and go to Shilin Night Market to have dinner.
Day 2: JiuFen Shifen Trip. Suggest to go to JiuFen first (top of hill) as this location is harder to get public transport in the evening. At JiuFen you can enjoy nice meal and do some shopping here. Then you can headed to Shifen. If you want to to visit waterfall you can go earlier other wise come to Shifen railway station during evening is nice to light up the sky lantern with your wishes and send to the air. At night, Jilong Night Market have the best food you can taste.
Day 3: Today is hot spring spa day, Beitou district day. Here you can have a nice walk with the local morning market, public library, spa museum, and highly recommend to pick a nice place for spa. I picked Huang Chi Spa / Emperor Spa as they have a unique natural hot spring with natural radium mineral from underground volcanic. Then at night, can visit Raohe St. Night Market, which is the oldest and unique night market for good food.
Day 4: Is Tamsui district day. Is a very relax walk by the famous Fisherman’s Wharf harbour. Enjoy some local delicacies, shopping for souvenirs and enjoy your walk along the riverbanks. At night can go to Ningxia night market for food.
Day 5: the last day if your flight at evening or night, you can do some final shopping at WuFenPu near the city. Is a fashion clothes wholesale area where you can do some fashion shopping with good price. You may also spend some good time to shop around Taipei Station underground shopping district and have some nice food. There you can easy access to the express train straight to the airport for your departure.

Yin Yang Sea ➡️ Golden Waterfall ➡️ Gold Museum ➡️ Jiufen Old Street ➡️ Houtong Cat Village ➡️ Shifen Sky Lanterns
🎡Strategies for Each Attraction
✅Yin Yang Sea
Depart from Taipei in the morning and head to Yin Yang Sea. The bay's water is yellowish-brown due to minerals, creating a stark contrast with the open sea. It's very noticeable when the weather is good.
⏰Operating Hours: 24 hours
📍Address: Yin Yang Sea, Ruifang District, New Taipei City
✅Golden Waterfall
Like the Yin Yang Sea, it's a natural landscape formed due to the minerals in the Jiufen area.
⏰Operating Hours: 24 hours
📍Address: Golden Waterfall, Gold Water Highway, Ruifang District, New Taipei City
✅Gold Museum
We spent a long time here. The kids loved this attraction. I've written a note about it before, remember to participate in the gold panning and tunnel experience, you can really find gold! You can have a rib lunch box at the miner's canteen here at noon, it's really delicious!
⏰Operating Hours: Monday to Friday: 09:30-17:00
Weekends and Holidays: 09:30-18:00
📍Address: No. 8, Jinguang Road, Ruifang District, New Taipei City
✅Jiufen Old Street
A must-visit attraction in Taiwan. There are many traditional snacks: Jiufen taro balls, grass cakes. There are also many souvenirs and gifts. You can also visit various teahouses for tea and rest. Think twice before bringing small children, there are too many steps.
⏰Operating Hours: 8:00-22:00
📍Address: Jishan Street, Ruifang District, New Taipei City
✅Houtong Cat Village
Our two kids loved it here. There are many cats, and they are not afraid of people. You can buy cat food to feed them. There are also many coffee shops and snack bars nearby. There is also a coal museum in the back, which is free to visit.
⏰Operating Hours: 24 hours
📍Address: Houtong Station, Ruifang District, New Taipei City
✅Shifen Sky Lanterns
There are three places to launch sky lanterns: Shifen Station, Pingxi Station, and Jingtong Station. In addition to launching sky lanterns, Pingxi Station also has an old street to stroll.
📍Addresses:
Shifen Station: No. 51, Shifen Street, Pingxi District
Pingxi Station: No. 12, Zhonghua Street, Pingxi District

Jiufen in 2 days
During our 8 days road trip around Taiwan, we stopped 2 days in Jiufen/Shifen to amire its beauty. The old street market closed at around 7-8pm so be sure to get there early before the sun sets. Jiufen is so crowded at night and when it rains, it's slippery everywhere. The view is unlike anything u have seen before. Temperature in end Oct is around 15-18°C in the mountains.

Taiwan-Jiufen-enter spirited away !
Second visit to Jiufen and still love it 🥰. The night tour is worth considering to learn more about the history of jiufen when it all stared as a lucrative gold mining area and how the residents benefited from mining gold. Lots of local food and shops selling interesting souvenirs
Be sure to bring an umbrella or raincoat as it rains frequently. The air is very moist so keep your electronics in a ziplock bag!

Jiu fen is a very charming place to visit. It is situated at higher altitude and with very steep buildings. A must try food at jiu fen is the sweet taro balls. Order a bowl and enjoy with a view.
Many souvenirs shops along the way too. I got myself some taiwan tea leaves and handicrafts.
Comfortable shoes are recommended as you will be passing by many steps and uneven grounds.
Overall, worth a visit to see the unique architectures:)#visittaiwan #jiufen

Breakfast in the Jiufen Mountains
Had an amazing time in Jiufen, Taipei despite the full day drizzle. Stayed in a quaint inn that overlooked the mountains and spent breakfast in bed (prepared by the friendliest staff)!
Would 100% recommend to spend at least a night in Jiufen to experience the vibrant streets in the morning, sip tea in the foggy afternoon and experience true spirited away vibes at night.

Jiufen is a subtle place, facing the mountains and the sea, wet and rainy, permeating the nostalgic mood.
From early to late, the old streets are crowded with tourists. In the morning, they are Chinese. During the day, they are Koreans, and at night they become Japanese.
If you have any dissatisfaction, go to Agam and buy a bowl of 50 yuan of soup. A small bench on the side of the window sill, the rounds of musk and the perfect sea view will surely make you happy.
Mr.Sahara.
New Taipei City, Jiufen.
In a lane of Jiufen, there is a photographer's studio, chatting with him. He said that in the spring of 2012, Jiufen appeared at a low altitude, and the sea of clouds surrounded this ancient hill city. The scenery is very spectacular. So he stayed and planned to continue shooting the sea of clouds.
Unfortunately, due to the warming of the weather, the clouds have disappeared in recent years, which is a pity. Jiufen, a small mountain town, a layered sea lodge, an old street selling local specialties, is the most famous attraction near Taipei.
can come with the local day group, or take the train from Taipei to Ruifang to take the 788 bus to get off at Jiufen. If you are not afraid of hard work, you can also drag your suitcase to stay for one night and pat the night scene of the mountain city.
