Unveiling a Local Mee pok Gem in joo chiat
🍜 Ah Lim Jalan Tua Kong Mee Pok
📍64 Joo Chiat Pl, Singapore 427786,
A true hidden gem nestled within the charming shophouses of Joo Chiat. This local coffee shop not only serves traditional breakfast delights but also specializes in the beloved local favorite, Mee Pok.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Mee Pok. We had the pleasure of trying both the soupy and dry versions, ensuring we covered all bases. The noodles were cooked to perfection, boasting just the right amount of springiness. Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, showcasing the distinctive taste of home. Whether with or without chili, the dish was a true masterpiece.
Ah Lim Jalan Tua Kong Mee Pok was generous with their toppings, generously heaping them onto the noodles. It was a joy to savor each ingredient, perfectly complementing the flavors of the dish.
Feeling a bit greedy, I couldn't resist treating myself to a traditional kaya toast alongside my daily kopi. The combination of the rich kaya spread and the fragrant coffee created a harmonious symphony of flavors.
Don't miss the opportunity to try out this Mee Pok in Joo Chiat!!!

Ragdoll kitty galore
#singapore
Located in one of the shophouses in Joo Chiat, Playground Ragdolls has ragdoll cats up for adoption. Even if you are not looking to adopt one, people can still visit and play with the cats for a fee per hour.
The setup was made such that it looks like a home with the cats freely roaming around. Before entering, a short briefing will be conducted by the staff on the house rules, such as how to approach the cats without startling them, and taking pictures without flash photography. Appointment is required and a slot can be booked on their website.

Joo Chiat in Singapore is so Colorful
#singaporetrip
There are many traditional Southeast Asian buildings in Joo Chiat, Katong District. Today, I had Kings Cart Coffee. There are many types of coffee shops in Kao Kuang County! There is a Chinese menu available. Haha, in addition to that, there are also many home buying shops/cafes in Katong District that I love to visit. # Internet famous shops such as Cha Kao Kuang County are also nearby! Next time, I want to try it out haha! If you don't know how to get there, you can directly locate Cafe Natsu (which can take photos, but the food is really ordinary). You can see colorful houses and various shops that buy five colors and six hands. Colorful Singapore! Check in to Singapore's Nyonya cultural gathering place haha. Colorful houses are really easy to take pictures!! Tourists! Super friend~Eating is great

block Joo Chiat Street in Katong Singapore is Lovely
#singaporetrip
In Singapore, I fell into the comic block Joo Chiat Road, breaking my stereotype that Singapore only has a modern face. The characteristic streets with Nanyang style are rarely visited by tourists, and there are colorful graffiti and unique treasure shops with their own styles. I really like both the eyes and the camera! If you want to walk the entire winding road, you can start from the starting point on Changi Mountain Road. The nearest subway station is Eunos, where you can walk, run, stop, take photos, eat ice, and walk for about 2 hours. If you don't have time to run the entire road, you can directly connect to the middle point of everything just like the intersection of Cut Road and Koon Seng Road (navigation can locate Cafe Natsu). There is a whole row of Peranakan cultural houses here, with a high saturation of Peranakan style architecture like a straight line, and then run towards the East Coast Park to complete the remaining half of the road. If you cut the road and walk for about 20 minutes, you can reach the East Coast Park. The reason is that it is a place with many hidden treasures. Next article updates again. Nine Lives

Joo Chiat Rd

A historic district not to be missed when in East Coast. Go check out the intersection of Joo Chiat and East Coast road. Also a very hipster neighborhood reminiscent of Hayes Valley in San Francisco, CA. I would try out one of the coffee shops. They're pretty good! My fav neighborhood in Singapore. A vibrant neighborhood with rich peranakan cultural nuances and many options of cafes, restaurants, independent businesses. It’s a very photogenic street.

An unexpected find
New bakery-cafe in East. Small space with outdoor seatings, it gives off a rustic glamping vibes.
Craving the perfect blend of sweet and savory?
then you got to try the Four Cheese with Honey ($6.50). And if you have a sweet tooth, their Iranian Pistachio Tart ($14) is an absolute must-try. Silky rich Pistachio ganache atop a crumbly tart base, I finished it on my own.
