Guangzhou | No more crowding, visit the ancient village from 1879
During the holidays, tourists are everywhere, especially in Yongqing Fang and Dongshankou, which are popular check-in spots,
I just know that everyone avoids Fangcun for some reason, and obediently, you should come to visit. Visiting time: 45 minutes, mainly for architecture, as well as small bridges and babbling brooks.
Julong Village, also known as "Kuang's Village," was built in the fifth year of Guangxu (1879) by a group of overseas Chinese with ancestral roots in Taishan who bought the land.
Therefore, the architectural style here is somewhat similar to Jiangmen. Julong Village covers an area of more than 5,200 square meters, with rows of uniform and neatly arranged houses, featuring green bricks, black tiles, and wood-carved screens. These ancient houses have architectural characteristics somewhat similar to the Xiguan Mansions,
but if you carefully compare them with those on Enning Road, you will know that the styles of the windows and doors are different.
The creation of Julong Ancient Village is closely related to the Kuang brothers. More than a hundred years ago, the overseas Chinese Kuang brothers spent fifty to sixty thousand taels of silver to acquire about 200 acres of farmland at Dachongkou and built this village.
It took them ten years to construct more than 20 uniform green brick houses, which is what we call Kuang's Village today.
According to rumors, this place was originally what geomancers called a "feng shui treasure land," with a dragon vein passing underground. During the construction of the houses, red water flowed out from the ground, which the geomancer called "the dragon's bleeding."

Julong Village Ancient Architectural Complex is one of the most intact ancient residential architectural complexes in Guangzhou. The buildings are all two-story green brick houses, and their architectural style has a strong Lingnan characteristic and high historical value! Today I visited here, feeling like I came to a small water town in Lingnan, experiencing the charm of the ancient village, it is a good place to visit during leisure time!

Julong Village is located in Chongkou Street, Liwan District, Guangzhou. It was built in Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty for five years, which was also completed in 1879. It was completed in 1889 and has a history of more than 100 years. The villagers of
Julong Village are surnamed , and the ancestors are Taiwanese overseas Chinese. This ancient village is designed to be neat and tidy, and the houses are connected and patchwork. These houses are two-story brick structure, each of which covers an area of about 200 square meters.
As a small tourist destination, Julong Ancient Village is very quiet whenever it is. There are old trees such as ancient urns and ancient cotton in the village. These old trees are natural air conditioners. The house next to the old trees has a temperature of at least 2-3 degrees lower than that of urban houses.
It is said that there is a dragon vein in the underground of the village where the village is located.
The legend is of course mysterious, but Julong Village has indeed produced many celebrities in modern times. For example, the Qing Dynasty Ministry of Education official Qi Qizhao, Hong Kong and Macao "golden giant" Hengshi, rich merchants Ming Mingjue, Wu Wuchen and so on.
Julong Village faces the waterway, which is in the city of Guangzhou and belongs to Fengshui. Before the Japanese army invaded China, the business was extremely prosperous, and the business talents were the most frequent. In 1937, Japan invaded China, and the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression came into being. After the fall of Guangzhou, the shops along the Julong Village were destroyed, the waterways were cut off, and the clan clan was forced to flee and scattered in Southeast Asia and the United States and Canada.
Time is long, after more than 100 years of swaying, now walking in the streets of Julong Ancient Village, you can still feel the prosperity of the past.
