Changsha is really fun, I will come again next time!
Changsha is really fun, there are so many delicious foods, and the people are super nice👍
Before going: Changsha has a lot of delicious food!
After going: There are too many delicious foods, I don't want to leave... (Don't worry about eating, you basically won't step on landmines, it's just that as a northerner, my body is a bit unaccustomed)
Tea Yan Yue Se: Recommend Sheng Sheng Oolong, You Lan Latte, Matcha Grapefruit (the iced version tastes better) Whenever you see Tea Yan Yue Se in every place, you must queue up to buy it, it's really good (also, there is none in the north)
Stinky Tofu: You can try the black classic oh
You must go to Orange Island Head, it's very photogenic, it's just that there are a lot of people (you can go early in the morning)
The night view of Fenghuang Ancient City is still good, but it's too commercialized, it's basically all travel photography, but the cost-performance ratio is still okay, if you have been to Lijiang Ancient City before, then it's not highly recommended here, there's not much difference.
Zhangjiajie's Seventy-Two Wonders Building is also quite recommended You don't need to buy a night ticket, it's very nice to take photos and check in across the street!
The scenery of Tianmen Mountain is really beautiful, you must go and see it yourself, the natural wonder (recommended tourist route A line, not tiring at all, remember to make an appointment a bit earlier)
The National Forest Park is still worth a visit, to feel the magnificence of the three thousand strange peaks and rocks, after all, you have already come to Zhangjiajie, it's really big inside, saw wild monkeys🐒 very cute, recommend entering and exiting from the east gate.
By the way, for those planning to travel to Hunan, you really don't need to check the weather forecast in advance, it's really useless, even the locals don't look at it, everyone just go and have fun, it's very comfortable to stroll around on cloudy and rainy days, sunny days are actually too hot, everyone just prepare an umbrella, the rain comes fast and goes fast!

Changsha | How to spend half a day upon arrival? Check-in at the popular photo spots in Orange Island
Just arrived in Changsha on the first day and only have half a day left for sightseeing, you can arrange it like this!
-Guangzhou South high-speed train🚄 direct to Changsha South 314/person 11:35-14:31 about three hours
-Check into the hotel around 15:00, I stayed near Wuyi Square for convenience~ It's indeed a bit noisy but still acceptable, rest a bit and head out to Orange Island at 16:00, take the subway line 2⃣️ directly, ps: remember to book in advance, tickets are free, take the sightseeing train back and forth for 40/person, 20 for students, it's recommended because walking is quite far~~ Pictures 1⃣️-4⃣️, there's not much to do in the scenic area, mainly to relax, feel the breeze, stroll around, take photos, and unwind, it's very suitable~~~
-Return to Wuyi Square around 18:00 to eat~ Changsha is full of delicious food, just eat whatever haha~ We went out from exit 9 and kept eating and strolling~
⚠️⚠️️Recommended shopping and eating route: Wuyi Square - Pozi Street - IFS - Huangxing Road Pedestrian Street - Huogongdian - Impression City - Nanmenkou Night Market - Du Fu Pavilion - Super Wen He You
All the above can be reached on foot nearby~ It's nice to stroll around but a bit tiring haha
ps: Du Fu Pavilion ticket is 11r, it's not necessary to go in, just stroll around, there are lots of singers and bands setting up stalls for song requests and such~ It feels like walking and listening to a concert
-After the stroll, return to the hotel at 22:00, take a hot shower to relieve fatigue, order some spicy crayfish and TeaYanYueSe takeout, watch a movie~ Edit photos and post to social circles, perfect ☑️

Orange Isle Scenic Area in Changsha City
Location: In the heart of the Xiang River, Changsha City, Hunan Province
Introduction:
Orange Isle is located in the middle of the Xiang River in the urban area of Changsha, with a view of Yuelu Mountain to the west and the city of Changsha to the east. It is a sandbar in the Xiang River. Orange Isle has been one of the famous attractions of Changsha since ancient times, with pleasant scenery in all four seasons. In spring, there are river gulls soaring here; in summer and autumn, the woods are lush; in winter, there is the famous 'River and Sky at Dusk Snow' scenery.
The scenic area also has a historical and cultural exhibition hall, a celebrity club of Hunan and Hubei, a hundred-meter fountain, a musical fountain, and other landscape pieces. The citrus culture park within the scenic area is planted with thousands of orange trees, which are laden with fruit during the autumn harvest season; it is also a great place for Changsha citizens to play in the water and swim in the summer, with a natural swimming area built on the island.
Every year from May 1st to October 31st on Saturday nights, as well as on New Year's Day, Chinese New Year's Eve, and Lantern Festival, Orange Isle holds fireworks events.
Opening Hours: Open all day
Ticket: Free
Experience: Orange Isle is a small island on the Xiang River in Changsha City. Due to its pleasant scenery, it also attracted many people to build villas here in the early days. Therefore, there are also many cultural relics on the island. Walking on Orange Isle on a beautiful night, the scenery of the Xiang River is very pleasant.

Finally took a photo with Chairman Mao at the head of Orange Island~|||The big screen at May 1st Square is good for taking pictures
|||The big screen at May 1st Square is good for taking pictures. It's really beautiful to catch the afterglow of the sunset🌇
We took the sightseeing car to the statue and then walked back. There are many parks along the way and the scenery is very beautiful. It's really comfortable to take a walk after dusk🎀
📍The atmosphere of taking pictures at the big screen of May 1st Square at the intersection of IFS International Finance Center and Huangxing Pedestrian Street is very strong💗

The sunset in Changsha is also romantically unswerving
In Changsha, there is a romantic appointment with the sunset. When the sunlight gently falls, the entire city seems to be surrounded by warm colors. 💖✨
The sunset is like a poem, gradually setting, dyeing the sky into a golden color. Its afterglow gently touches the earth, as if giving all life endless warmth and strength. At this moment, time seems to freeze, leaving only this beautiful moment. 🌅💞
With the setting of the sunset, the entire city gradually fell into tranquility. The busy streets quieted down, people stopped their hurried footsteps, and looked up at this beautiful sunset. It seems that at this moment, all troubles and fatigue are taken away by the sunset, leaving only purity and beauty. 😍💕
The sunset in Changsha is a feast for the eyes and the soul. It makes us feel the beauty and power of life, and also makes us full of expectations and hopes for tomorrow. 💪✨

Mao Zedong 🗿
Changsha, the capital of central China’s Hunan province, is a large city with a history dating to the Zhou dynasty (1046–256 B.C.). Today it’s known for its rare collection of excavated Western Han dynasty tombs, known as the Mawangdui. It’s also associated with Mao Zedong, who studied and lived here before joining the Chinese Communist Party in the 1920s.

Orange Island 🇨🇳 Changsha
A tourist spot with lots of Chinese characteristics.
Massive political statues ✅
Temples ✅
Local famous tea chain ✅
Gardens ✅
Famous residences ✅
A random tourist activity centre with buggies and caravans, and a shooting range ✅
A petit tram✅
What more could you want, it's a fun touristy day out.
Getting There- It's easiest to get a taxi to the main car parks on the island. Then you'll need to walk or use the petit trams to navigate the island and its many tourist spots. There is a main island path and a prominade too. For the massive figure head you'll need to register to get in with your passport or/and QR code.
You could spend an hour or a day here, but I would recommend an early start as the crowds can be quite big.
Ginge5
#lightthecity It was very hot when we went (we had to buy a manually powered fan for 25 yuan) and there were tons of people visiting so you have to queue up to wait but the lines are fast. You can walk the island yourself or take a tram. It is a few kilometers to walk and we were lazy so we took the tram. The highlight of the place is a giant statue of Young Mao. There is also a museum right by but it was closed. There are plenty of parks and other smaller attractions as well. Wish we would have spent a little more time here as there is a beach at the other end of the island that we missed. You can easily spend the bulk of the day here seeing all the different attractions.

After visiting Hunan University, I walked along the archway road to the Xiangjiang River. When I walked to the riverside, I could see a archway. At this time, I understood the meaning of the name of the archway road. I think this should be the location of the original Yuelu Academy archway ~
through the dyke of the river, down the stairs to the greenway, you can slowly walk along the river, there are many walks and rides The person who walks. Next to Xiangjiang River is the Changsha Xiangjiang Scenic Belt, which consists of more than ten leisure fitness squares, green belts and historical and cultural landscapes. It integrates functions such as flood control, sightseeing, tourism, leisure and fitness.
Unconsciously, the sundial is coming quietly. The shadow of the sun shines on the river, sparkling.
Working people, gradually returning home to rest; the traffic on the Orange Island Bridge gradually increased; the high-rise buildings on the shore gradually staged a gorgeous light show...
Orange is the Chairman Maos poem "Independent cold autumn, Xiangjiang North, oranges, head, see Wanshan red, layered forest to dye" in the orange continent. Xiwangyue Mountain, east to Changsha City, surrounded by water, stretches for dozens of miles, the shape is a long island, is a shock sandbar in the Xiangjiang River.
Oranges and Oranges have both the taste of the village and the hustle and bustle of the village, and the prosperity of the Chinese lanterns; the orange forest is a piece of film, the scenery is clear; the historical and cultural heritage is long and heavy; the floating cymbal is known as "China's first Continent."
Rachel Yu.
Orange Island is a famous cultural attraction in Changsha. The transportation here is very convenient. There is a station in Orange Island on the subway line 2. Many tourists come here to enjoy the beauty of the people, in addition to leisure and sightseeing, in 1925. In the youth, Mao Zedong once wrote the first popular "Yuanyuanchun Changsha" in the head of Orange Island. Since then, Orange Island has gained fame in the country.
The Xiangjiang River next to the Orange Island is magnificent, especially after the sunset. The sunset is sparkling and makes people feel very romantic. It is also known as the "China's first continent." Orange Island is made up of sandstone. It is named after the citrus. There are few cars and beautiful environment. There are thousands of flowers and vines growing on the Orange Island. The vegetation also makes the air fresh.
The many bungalows in Orange Island were quite spectacular in the 1930s. The former foreign merchants also left a rich architectural legacy to the present Changsha. After many years of renovation, the old customs have The house has been demolished, and we can now see more than ten houses in Orange Island. After the transformation, Orange Island has become a beautiful park. The main attractions here are Chau Tau Tsing Orange Pavilion, White Marble Poetry Tablet, Bronze Statue Plaza, Rattan Plaza, Chairman Mao Changyou Xiangjiang Memorial Point, Lan Yueting, and Pillow River Pavilion. Bonsai Garden, Gate Plaza, etc.
At different times in Orange Island, different styles of architecture gathered together as if people had entered the old days of the Republic of China.

The wind that reminds me of you blows to Changsha.
In the summer of Changsha, experience the interweaving of history and modernity. Stroll through Yuelu Academy and listen to the echoes of the ancient school.
On the banks of the Xiang River, the city's prosperity and tranquility coexist. Changsha's cuisine, such as Huogongdian stinky tofu, rice noodles, and barbecue, satisfies the art of taste buds.
At night, Yuelu Mountain and Furong Town are dazzling, and the nightlife is rich and varied. Experience the enthusiasm and romance of Changsha people and leave unforgettable travel memories. Please bring your camera and mood to record all the beauty of this city.
Huangxing Pedestrian Street, a shopping paradise in Changsha, is a must-visit for every tourist. The prosperity and fashion here will surprise you. Admire the magnificent scenery of the Xiang River at Orange Island Head, and the fireworks at night are even more intoxicating. Whether you are looking for history, food, or beautiful scenery, Changsha will leave you with unforgettable memories.

Listen to me! Check out this guide before you travel to Changsha!
🔖Three-day, two-night tour
🏠Accommodation: Recommended to stay near Wuyi Square for convenient travel.
🚇Transportation: Recommended to travel by subway. Most famous attractions are located on Line 2. It's cost-effective and can help you avoid traffic jams.
———
⭐️⭐️⭐️Wuyi Square, Huangxing Street
It's a huge snack street, but it's very fun to walk around. Although the snacks are all similar, there are a lot of shops selling preserved duck, stinky tofu, Cha Yan Yue Se, and local specialties.
🕙Recommended to visit at night when the light boxes are lit up. It's more lively and has a more authentic atmosphere.
·
⭐️⭐️Du Fu Jiang Pavilion
Simply put, it's a group of ancient buildings with lights. You need a ticket to enter. Otherwise, it's like looking at an outdoor museum.
⚠️There are many portrait photography studios and locals with single-lens reflex cameras and instant cameras who offer paid photography services. They take up all the good spots, and there are many tourists. If you want to take photos, go early!!! Recommended to take photos from the opposite side of the road, otherwise it's difficult to get the whole building in the shot!
·
⭐️IFS International Finance Center
Keywords: Large shopping mall, chain stores
The mall is really big, but it mainly has the same chain stores as other malls. It's not really recommended for tourists. It's also quite difficult to find the subway. Pay attention to the signs! My suggestion is to take a photo of the IFS logo when you cross the road. You have to queue up to take photos on the top floor. You'd be better off spending that time exploring the city.
·
⭐️⭐️⭐️Orange Island (Must-visit attraction in Changsha)
📷The only attraction here is the young Mao Zedong statue. However, it's quite impressive when you first see it. Locals also take up all the good spots. If you want to take photos, go early!!
(I really have to complain. The tourist experience is really bad. I waited for a long time to take photos, but a local with a camera just rushed over and took the spot, starting to solicit business.)
🚂Recommended to buy round-trip train tickets, otherwise it's very tiring to walk. You'll sweat so much that you won't look good in photos. There's not much to do there.
⚠️Don't believe the scalpers who say that there are a lot of people and it takes a long time to buy tickets. There are a lot of people, but they're always moving. It's very quick to buy tickets from the machine. One scalper ticket is worth two machine tickets.
🚌There's a direct bus to Yuelu Mountain from Orange Island. It costs 5 yuan per person, which is more convenient than the subway. Pay attention to the signs. There will be a loudspeaker announcement.
·
⭐️⭐️⭐️Yuelu Mountain
⚠️Go from the South Gate, not the East Gate!
Hunan University, Snack Street, Aiwan Pavilion, Yuelu Academy, and Chuanshipo Lake are all located near the South Gate. Go directly from the South Gate to visit these attractions!!!
There are long queues for the uphill and downhill vehicles. The cable car is under maintenance and can't be used. Don't go up the mountain unless necessary. Some roads are very steep! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes!!
———
A few words of advice💭
Changsha is a city that is highly praised. I had high expectations before I went, but I didn't have a very good experience. I hope everyone will avoid these so-called trendy attractions and not have the same disappointment as me.
The attractions gave me the feeling of being a freshman who was blocked from entering the freshman welcome party.
The food in Changsha gave me the feeling of buying a drink after being thirsty for a long time, only to find out that it was just ordinary mineral water.

Came to Changsha, eating 'Xiang' and drinking spicy food ||
||.
🏨 Hotel: Staying near Wuyi Square is more convenient for shopping and eating.
⚠️ Notes:
1️⃣ Changsha is really super hot 🥵, everyone should pay attention to sun protection when playing. It's still very hot now, so it's recommended to bring a few more sets of clothes, because going out basically means your clothes will be soaked. 👗
2️⃣ If you usually eat lightly, it's recommended to bring some digestive tablets when you go, to avoid stomach discomfort due to sudden change in diet. After all, when traveling, you still need to take care of your body❗️ (As a Sichuan person, I actually think Changsha's spiciness is okay and adaptable, but it depends on personal constitution. Spiciness level: ⭐⭐)
🏞️ Attractions: Changsha's attractions are relatively concentrated, and it's more convenient to drive.
🔴 We went out at 10:30 in the morning and took the subway 🚇 to Orange Isle (the subway exit is the ticket office for the scenic train 🚞🎫, round-trip ticket is 40 yuan/person). Then the four of us took a lot of photos 📷. There were many people, so we took photos whenever we found a gap. We spent less than 20 minutes in total, couldn't stand the scorching sun ☀️, and took the return train back to the hotel to drive for lunch.
⚫️ After lunch, we went back to the hotel to take a shower and change clothes, took a short rest, and went to Li Zijian in the afternoon (you can directly scan the code at the entrance to make a reservation, free 🆓) with friends (who had been there a few years ago, so we just took a few photos outside).
🔵 After dinner, we drove to Du Fu Pavilion 🌆, but unfortunately, there was really no place to park nearby. A shallow suggestion, can Changsha set up more parking lots 🅿️? Finally, while waiting for the traffic light 🚥, we took a photo in the car, just to say we've been there ✌🏻. Then we went to the top floor of IFS to check in (⚠️ The mall closes at 22:00, and the Kaws area on the top floor only allows exit at 21:50, so watch the time).
😎 In this way, we basically checked all the boxes in one day 🤏🏻.
🥘 Food: Ben Luobo, Yishuang Haoshou, Yizhan Deng (these three are relatively large restaurants, ordering 6-7 dishes costs about 💰300 yuan, other food you can decide for yourself 🤪).
📝 We are more casual in our shopping and eating, without any specific places to go, so the schedule is based on our comfort.
🙊 Just a shallow share of the itinerary, if you have any questions ❓ or supplements, you can leave a message in the comment area❗️🫰🏻

Although the scorching sun was no longer visible in the evening, the high temperature of 38 degrees Celsius made people sweat profusely. If you plan to take Metro Line 2 to Orange Isle, the attractions around Changsha can be reached by subway, which is very convenient. It is indeed well-deserved to become a popular city on the internet.
The subway exit is right at the Orange Isle Scenic Area. Since there was still some time before sunset, we did not take the sightseeing train but walked along the Xiangjiang River towards the statue of Chairman Mao. This journey is about 3.4 kilometers. Although it was so hot that we were drenched in sweat, the walk was still comfortable because there were few people walking. Finally, we met up with the main group at the statue.
At 19:30, the light show on the banks of the Xiangjiang River started on time. Buildings competed in brilliance, lights flickered on and off, and various dazzling lights intertwined, reflecting each other with the mirrored light and shadow, making me dazzled. Although I have seen the night scenes of many cities in mainland China, each night scene has its own characteristics, always fascinating and amazing me!
After watching the night scene, I was too tired to walk back, so I had to follow the crowd and take the small train out of the scenic area, then transfer to the subway back to the hotel.

Biggest River Island in A World: Changsha Orange Isle
#islands
The "Orange Island" is a shoal located in the center of the Xiangjiang River, opposite Changsha. It was so named because of the oranges scattered all over the island during harvest.
Formed in 305, the island got its name in the sixth century thanks to the work of the famous poet of the Tang Dynasty. 140 m long and 40 m wide, it looks like a huge green ship covered with a carpet of flowering trees. It is believed to be the world's largest inland island, and is currently a popular summer vacation destination in Changsha because temperatures never rise high here, even from May to July.
The island has the following attractions:
Hunan Cultural Corridor
Water Entertainment Corridor
Orange Garden
Nature Garden
The Park of harmonious Guests
Platform with views of the river and Changsha city
And of course, the statue of the young Mao Zedong, which was installed on the island in 2009.
This island has been very famous since ancient times. For example, the first known documented occurrence of an Orange Island appeared in 305 BC, during the Yongxing era, the reign of Emperor Hui of Jin during the Jin Dynasty.
During the Tang Dynasty, poet Du Fu wrote poems Daolin Temple visits and Yuelushan Temple, which says Orange Island. He was on Xiao Xiang's list of eight views - River and Sky: Snow at Sunset.
In addition, from 1911 to 1949, many foreign embassies and consulates were built on the island, since Changsha was opened to foreign trade as part of the Shanghai Treaty of 1903.
Orange Island is not only the largest island among the many islands in the lower reaches of the Xiang River, but also the largest inland island in the world.
Orange Island is suitable for traveling at any time of the year. The Orange Island construction theme includes concepts such as ecology, culture, tourism and leisure. Here you can find a beach park, a water area for water sports, a fountain and other recreation areas.

Travel Diary of Orange Isle
🎉The Adventures of Orange Isle! The "Craziness" and "Little Happiness" at 3 AM✨
Hey, friends, today I want to tell you an "atypical" travel diary of Orange Isle, guaranteed to make you laugh with tears, and cry with laughter (mainly laugh though)!😉
🌙The 3 AM alarm clock is not for counting stars, but for embarking on a "brave journey to Orange Isle" with my buddies! We thought we were the early birds catching the worm, but we ended up being the "loyal audience of the security guards"👀. The 6:30 AM appointment made us wait for an "eternity" (well, just over an hour, but it felt like time travel). Friendly reminder: don't be too early, unless you plan to have a "morning chat" with the security guards.💬
🚶♀️🚶♂️No little train? Then let's have an impromptu "morning walk"! The scenery on the right became our private runway, chatting as we walked, with our own "motivational BGM"—"Come on, you are the best!" Half an hour later, destination get√, feeling like we won a marathon (though it was just a short walk).🏆
📸Taking photos? In front of Chairman Mao? NO WAY! We cleverly chose the "profile kill" angle, fewer people and beautiful scenery, pretending to be the protagonist in a photographer's lens, perfectly avoiding the "crowd mode".😎
🌞Speaking of weather, summer in Changsha is blazing hot! Sunscreen, umbrella, water, you can't miss any of them, or you might turn from "Prince Charming" to "Caramel Pudding".🌞Remember to check the weather forecast, or you might have a "deep hug" with Mr. Sun.
🕶️Sunglasses? They are definitely a photo-taking artifact! Not only do they protect from the sun, but they also add style. With them on, you are the coolest kid on the block, no need to open your eyes to take great photos!😎
🚂Finally, the little train became our "lifesaver", a 25 yuan one-way ticket, zooming from the scorching scenic area to the subway station, feeling like traveling from a desert to an air-conditioned room, simply a life winner!🚀
In short, this trip to Orange Isle, although we got up earlier than the chickens, we had more fun than anyone! Was it worth it? What do you think? Come to Orange Isle, let's turn "early rising" into "early fun" together!🎉

Love at the Orange Isle
Finally arrived at the Orange Isle that I've thought about for many years.
I've read 'Qinyuan Spring·Changsha' many times over the years, and the pride and boldness that Chairman Mao must have felt when writing this poem seem to spill out from every breath.
Today (May 26, 2024), although it's not the cold autumn, the Xiang River still flows northward, and the young Mao Zedong on the Orange Isle, as always, watches over, protects, and encourages the people of Changsha, especially the youth.
It's not the cold autumn, yet in our hearts, we all embody the spirit of eagles soaring in the sky and fish gliding in shallow waters.
It's not the cold autumn, but we also reminisce about the tumultuous years of the past!
Now approaching forty, I thought I had grown accustomed to comfort and enjoying the present, with a slight dissatisfaction with reality and mostly acceptance to just walk around, but seeing the rushing Xiang River and the young Chairman Mao looking forward, expecting the prosperity of the nation, it seems as if the passion for struggle has been rekindled.
Returning from the trip, we are still young, we are still in our prime!
Changsha, truly a city full of historical and cultural heritage, a city that inspires one to strive!
