Highlights of our Nordic Christmas Adventure on the Genting Dream
(1) VERRY Christmas
Don’t miss this spectacular show with all the talented cast you’ll see performing across different venues on the cruise 💃🏻
(2) Rope Course & Zipline
Super fun despite my fear of heights! Go in the morning to skip the long queue and remember to wear sneakers with shoelaces 👟
(3) Rock Climbing Wall
Nice that they provide you with rock climbing shoes. There were 6 lanes and you get to climb twice (the ones on the right are easier) 🧗🏻♀️
(4) Waterslide Park
We got to have the slides all to ourselves and didn’t have to queue at all, but that was because it was freezing (luckily they have a shower with hot water right beside) 🥶 The purple and blue slides were my fave 💜💙
(5) Complimentary craft workshops
There were several workshops where the friendly staff taught us to make all sorts of arts and crafts, such as a 3D Christmas card and a Nordic Santa Clause 🎅🏻🎄
(6) Unlimited Free Food
Out of the 3 inclusive buffets, we liked The Lido most, as it had the greatest variety in terms of food with sometimes even a special surprise, such as ice cream and tacos! Function 8 serves Halal food, which was not as bad as we expected, plus there’s less people, so worth a try 🤣
Overall, we loved our trip onboard with all the jam-packed activities and can’t wait to be back 🌊

Had a weekend cruise trip from the terminal with a group of three families. The terminal can be reached via taxi or bus as well. The facilities at the terminal are good and the immigration was also smooth.
There is regular supply of local taxis to the terminal so the transportation is fairly easy and seamless. Big cruise ship journey from Hong Kong generally begin from this terminal

World Famous Attraction No.1 Upgrade Strategy.
【International Waters Edition】
Boarding Time: Before 18:00
Queue for Security Check: Starts at 17:00
❗️It seems that there's no need to follow the boarding time indicated in the email; you can board any time before 18:00. I even saw people just getting on the ship after I had finished dinner.
Upgrade: The main idea is 'I can suffer, but not my mom'. This time I brought my mom and as soon as we boarded, I rushed to the lobby to upgrade our cabin, only to be told 'don't have any other room'. After playing around for a while and after the ship set sail, I saw a lot of people lining up in the lobby and then it dawned on me, some guests had disembarked, and it was time to upgrade!
❗️For those who want to upgrade, pay attention to the timing, ask at the front desk when the ship is about to leave shore!
💵 About the price: Inside cabin to luxury suite +HK$5000, inside cabin to regular suite +HK$3200, inside cabin to balcony room +HK$900
Prices fluctuate on the same route depending on the date.

Follow my steps closely and let's visit the artistic side of Hong Kong!
'Kai Tak Airport' was once the busiest international airport in the world, and even after its closure in 1998, it remains a legend in aviation history. In the Sky Garden of the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, there is a sculpture by top American contemporary artist Andy Rementer titled 'Ocean Companions.' The dopamine-colored artwork conveys the author's thoughts on 'harmonious coexistence between humans and nature' to us (the art installation is on display until May 24). The rooftop park on the third floor offers a 360° view of Hong Kong, which is believed to be unique in the city. There are areas designated as pet-friendly spaces, which are highly commendable.
Transportation: There are several shuttle minibuses connecting the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal with surrounding subway stations

Kai Tak Airport is currently being continued through the AIRSIDE complex, which will carry on the memory of Hong Kong's century-long aviation history. 'AIRSIDE' refers to the airport restricted area, named for its location near the old Kai Tak Airport. Airside is a comprehensive mall that integrates entertainment, dining, and shopping, with a focus on the fusion of green environmental protection and art culture. Inside, there is a 'GATE33 Art and Culture Gallery,' which is currently hosting an exhibition themed 'Local Dragon Quest.' The exhibition features dragons in different styles, materials, and scenes, created by nine artists for the public.
-
The 'Dragon and Phoenix Hall' recreates the classic wedding banquet scene from the 80s and 90s in Hong Kong. 'A Hundred Dragons in Paper' by artist Hui Kai Kiu features 100 'Dragon Soaring' paintings on tissues, presenting the dynamic of dragons in an innovative way. 'The Saga of Dragon Tattoos' is interpreted by Hong Kong tattoo artists Siu Lung, CHRISSSS, PSYCATZ, and Lung Kee, each using their unique style to animate 'Dragon Tattoos' filled with Hong Kong flavor. 'Impromptu Dragon Swaying' by local Hong Kong artist Uncle852 turns the structural pillars of GATE33 Art and Culture Gallery into graffiti, hiding dragons within and combining contemporary with tradition in the 'Dragon Soaring Across the Seas' street style. 'Improvised Frog Dragon' is a super-mini retrospective exhibition by Hong Kong's pioneering artist Frog King, who uses the theme of 'Frog Dragon' to incorporate English and images into Chinese calligraphy. 'The Legacy of Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance' is displayed in a darkroom format, showcasing a 15-meter-long 'Glowing Little Fire Dragon.' Through the technological fire dragon, the traditional custom of the fire dragon dance is made known and understood by more people, thus being passed on.
-
'Cattle Depot Artist Village,' built in 1908, is a Grade II historic building, formerly a slaughterhouse. The red bricks, black iron, and green windows and doors tell the history of this place. The village is home to artist studios. Some installations are scattered throughout the village, and the greenery adorned with the characters for fortune, prosperity, and longevity, as well as various dragon-themed window decorations, are all very interesting, making it a popular leisure spot for many.
Address: 63 Ma Tau Kok Road, To Kwa Wan, Kowloon
MTR: To Kwa Wan Station, Exit A, about a 12-minute walk
-
The cultural hostel 'Tsui Yee Mountain House' located in the 'Jao Tsung-I Academy' in Sham Shui Po is worth a stay! The open view and fully equipped room environment, abundant negative oxygen ions in the mountains, the quaint and serene architectural style, and the rich and thought-provoking art exhibitions have left the deepest impression on me.

Kai Tak Cruise Terminal
Once the busiest Kai Tak Airport in the world, it has now become the Hong Kong Cruise Terminal that can accommodate the world's largest cruise ships. There is a Hong Kong's largest rooftop garden on the terminal, which has many static facilities, including a central lawn, observation deck, water garden, and fountain square. Walking around the garden, you can see the Victoria Harbour to the south and the Kwun Tong to the north. Two huge ships are docked at the terminal, with some passengers boarding the cruise ship, while others are sunbathing on the balcony🌞 and having afternoon tea☕️. I couldn't help but wonder when I could also enjoy a dream trip around the world on a cruise ship.
