#Kansai International Airport Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Jun)

JR Hakura is the best way to travel to Kyoto
🚆 We bought the JR Haruka tickets to Kyoto from Kansai International Airport and this is my recommended method to travel to Kyoto in comfort.
💺 The train departs every 30 minutes. Make sure you sit in the non-reserve car if you do not reserve seats in advance. During certain time of the day, it can get really crowded so I highly recommend reserving seats if you have a lot of luggages.

Rapi:t Express Train from KIX to Namba
The fastest way to get to the Namba from KIX Airport is via the Limited Express Rapi:t Train from the station in the Airport itself. Though a little more pricey than the local Nankai trains, you get reserved seating, more comfortable seating, luggage storage areas and a super cool ride to the city. The train is an attraction in itself as it is decked out in a royal blue with round windows and looks like it came straight out from an anime. I bought the tickets and went to the ticket counter to exchange for the physical tickets. The train ride was fast and in only about 30-40 minutes we got to the city.
Tip: if you can, exchange your tickets early and choose your preferred train time slot as the queues can get pretty long. The tickets could be sold out quickly for certain timings too.

We need a quick meal before boarding, this is the place to be. The attraction was the fresh wasabi. This restaurant serves Soba with a freshly grounded wasabi. We have to grind the wasabi ourselves on a small grinder. Something fun to play with. The price is affordable, the food is good and plenty, great service. It serves 100% halal Japanese food.

#thingstodo One of the busiest airport in Japan, the staff are friendly. The airport isn't as huge compared to other international airport. You might want to buy your food first at the Lawson convenience store after check in and please arrive 3-4hours in advance. The security check points take us 1.5hour and the queue is insanely long. No time to go for window shopping inside the departure hall as we left only 1hour before our STD.

Nankai Rapit Train is a great way to get to/from Kansai International Aiport from/to Osaka Namba station.
The train experience is great as seats are pre-allocated so you will be able to sit together with your travel companions.
The luggage storage at the end of the car is also convenient for tourists to leave their luggage and sit comfortably.
Definitely, recommend using this Rapit Train as a hassle-free way to/from airport.

Great experience on Vietnam airlines
We want to bring the kids to Japan during school holidays and managed to get good price on Trip.com for Japan tickets with Vietnam airlines.
The service is excellent and the crew keeps offering drinks to us during the 6-hour journey. The meal from Osaka to Ho Chi Minh is great as well.
Leg-space is ample on this Boeing 787-900
Dreamliner too.
Overall, will recommend Vietnam airlines for affordable airfare.

Laduree @Kansai International Airport
Paris’ historical sweets in Japan, their atmosphere intact!
LADUREE, founded in 1862 in France, is now a popular macaron store, and also the birthplace of "Macaron Parisian".
There’s a cafe (with a few tables) after checking in at the departure hall of the Kansai International Airport. It’s a petite yet cozy enough. There’s a variety of flavours that one can have sitting at this adorable shop. There are also gifts perfect for souvenirs. It also offers coffee (from a Japanese brand).

Booked flight with Trip Taipei to Osaka
It was my first time booking flight with trip. As it was the sakura season, all flights tickets were hella expensive. Surfing through all sites and found trip with the most reasonable ones! Booked from Taipei to Osaka and the trip was pretty smooth. Will consider booking again if the price is right!
