Kellie's Castle ✨
Beautiful castle in perak where you should not missed. Best if you have studied the history with more understanding before you go. Although it is also famous with haunted house, but its worth to pay a visit.
There are many spots around here that you can take beautiful pictures. Go either early morning or late noon to avoid the heat.
The view from top of the castle is really beautiful too. There’s a river and a lot of trees surrounding the castle which makes it more mesmerizing.
Definitely the most visited place when you are in Perak and a nice spot for photoshoot! Really recommended ❤️

An Abandoned Castle in Malaysia
About 20 km from Ipoh city center, there is a beautiful abandoned castle. It was built by a Scottish planter, named William Kellie-Smith. The castle has four floored building. But during the construction in 1926, William Kellie-Smith died of penumonia and the castle was never completed and left abandoned. Now, Kellie's Castle has become one of favorite tourist attraction. Getting there is abit tricky. There is no public transportation to the castle. So the only transportation you can find is online taxi booking or maybe you can also rent a car. The entrance fee is RM 15 for foreigners. Oh, did I mention that on the second floor, there's a ghost cloister balcony? Yup, a lot of people said that it's a haunted castle. There is a story of an Europian couple from Canada who came here to photograph nocturnal creatures, and the woman saw a man standing, looking out the window. Aside from some spooky stories, this castle is hard to resist. The view is so beautiful. So, are you still wanted to go to this castle?

Kellie's Castle, the unfinished castle
I'm a fan of history, and I've accidentally read about Kellie's castle history where the magnificent castle was left unfinished due to the death of William Kellie Smith (due to pneumonia).
This castle is a tourist attraction since it was a very British-like, made of red bricks. And, supposedly, this castle would be the first with lift Malaya, if the process was continued.
Highly recommended to all people to visit, to experience the beauty of this castle and also the surroundings greenery ♡

Kellie’s Castle
It's a beautiful place but can't help feeling sad. It was built as symbol of love, hope and also to show their status in the society at that time. The architectural of the building was impressive and one can only imagine what a beautiful and stunning castle it could've become if completed. As the building is incomplete, one should take extra caution when climbing up the stairs, standing on the rooftop or careful not to lean against the metal railing along the terrace

Good historical place to explore in Ipoh!
We enjoyed to visit this kind of historical place during the British colonisation in Malaya Era. That Scottish Engineer was my kind of motivation as I studied in Civil Engineering.
The position of Wine Cellar, Bedrooms and Guest Rooms are pretty fascinating in the way of 1900s' architectural layout.
The only we encountered some unpleasant vandalism on the walls.
Overall it is quite worth to visit that place.

For as long as one can remember, the Chinese have always referred to Kellie’s Castle as the ‘Ghost House’.
