Flora Creek (formerly Kritsada Doi) is located in Hang Dong and has been renovated with new rooms. I stayed from December 8-11, 2024, in a Deluxe Plantation Connecting Room. What I loved most was the spacious hotel area surrounded by nature, filled with trees and flowers. There’s a stream both within the hotel grounds and visible from the room balcony. Walking to the dining area or back to the room was delightful, accompanied by the sound of the stream, butterflies, birds flying around, and a flock of ducks strolling in the late morning. The room was spacious, decorated in warm white tones. The Deluxe Plantation rooms have a balcony where you can sit and listen to the stream and enjoy the lush green view. The room features a large sofa and standard amenities. The bathroom includes a bathtub and separate zones for showering and toilet use. However, there’s no snack bar, no smart TV, and the air conditioning is very cold. The common areas include outdoor movie screenings and live music, a shaded swimming pool, a fitness center, a spa, and 24-hour golf cart service (the lobby is about 400-500 meters away from the rooms). Breakfast options are limited, with typical stations like eggs, salad, bread, and pastries. Some days there’s rice porridge, and other days noodles. The food is average, and if you come late, some items may run out without being replenished. The Feungfah restaurant serves good dinner with a variety of options, including barbecue, Thai dishes, and fusion cuisine. However, the wait time for food is quite long (even pre-ordering a set meal 1.5 hours in advance still resulted in delays). Overall, this accommodation offers great value for money with an atmosphere that exceeds expectations. If they could improve the breakfast and restaurant service, it would be perfect.

They now let their elephants roam freely within their own forest, where they share amusement with guests and become their signature attraction. For $100 baht, buy a banana basket and get access to feeding, petting, and taking photos with the elephants. They're truly docile and adorable! 🥰 ☕️The landscaped grounds here are refreshingly comfortable, with a spacious dining area so you don't have to worry about getting a table. There's a wide selection of coffee, drinks, snacks, light meals, and desserts. While a bit pricey, it's still within reasonable limits. #GetDiscountsWithoutLuck BRANDNEW FIELD GOOD CAFE is another Chiang Mai coffee shop with a concept of being close to nature. Located on the outskirts of Chiang Mai in Hang Dong District, this small cafe has transformed a rice paddy into a unique cafe in the middle of a field. A woven bamboo bridge, or "Hom Hug Bridge," connects the cafe to the village, ensuring the original rice paddy area isn't destroyed. From Chiang Mai city, we started our journey at Wat Suan Dok. From our starting point to the cafe, it took about 25 minutes. Since it was a holiday, the Hang Dong-Samoeng road was quite congested. We arrived at our destination via Google Maps, which took us around the back of the temple. LOL. If you're heading to the cafe, if you see Wat Aranyawas and the parking lot, you've arrived. You can park in the temple parking lot, as the road to the cafe isn't accessible! Hom Hug Bridge isn't a straight path. It winds around. I think it was built to follow the embankment built along the small rice paddy canal. Midway through, you'll see a sign for the Hom Hug Bridge, decorated with floral-patterned zinc trays, just like the ones your grandmother used when you were a child. Tourists stop to take photos. Then you reach the shop. In front of the shop, a tall, illuminated canopy stands out. I imagine it would be beautiful at night with the lights on. The shop is divided into two buildings. The first building is a two-story building with dining areas on both levels, with both air-conditioned rooms and a balcony where you can enjoy the natural breeze. The other building is a single-story glass building. This building houses a coffee shop, cakes, and drinks. You can also order and pay for food here.
