Traveling to Suzhou, I did a little research online and booked two nights at the Kimpton Zhuhui Hotel on Zhuhui Road! The butler will contact you in advance!
The hotel is very close to the Master of the Nets Garden, within walking distance, and all the attractions are just a ten-minute drive away. Arriving at the hotel at noon, I found it was in a commercial area, with many restaurants in Huanyu Hui having very nice environments!
From the moment you enter the hotel, you can feel the excellent service attitude. There will be a staff member to help open the car door and carry your luggage. No deposit is required for check-in, and they will help push your luggage to the room. They also upgraded our room. Overall, the hotel's service is good. As for cleanliness, I specifically checked some corners, including whether there were watermarks on the glasses. Everything was very clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. My friends and I fell asleep instantly, haha!
The hotel's breakfast is also very rich, with both Chinese and Western options. My favorite was the buns, which were even better than those outside~
There is also a free social hour, but we didn't experience it because we had plans to go out. However, we really liked the hotel's garden style. In the morning, you can take a walk, have a leisurely breakfast, and experience the slow life of Suzhou~

I took my family to Suzhou for the weekend. Since it was their first time in Suzhou, I knew exactly what I wanted: a garden hotel in Gusu District. I didn't hesitate to book this hotel. I had stayed at the Kempinski in Samui before and it left a good impression on me. It's a great place to bring your family (especially the elderly).
About the room: It was very clean overall. We stayed on the 3rd floor and it wasn't noisy. The balcony was a great place to relax when the weather was good. In the evening, you could watch the sunset and the small houses in Suzhou.
About the service: I saw a lot of comments saying that the hotel service was bad, but it was actually okay. We checked in an hour late and they gave us two drink coupons that we could use at the bar. I didn't have high expectations for the food, but it was actually really good. The Suzhou noodles were delicious, the wontons were average, the bread and egg tarts were also good, and of course, I had to have a coconut. The latte was better than a lot of other hotels. The hotel pool is on the basement level. It's pretty standard. There were also people who weren't hotel guests there for a class, so it was a bit crowded!
About the hotel overall: The garden was beautiful and they kept the bamboo forest from the previous hotel. It was a novelty for my family to stroll around, but the hotel wasn't very big. After walking around, there wasn't much else to do. The hotel lobby was also small and there weren't many places to sit. Personally, I felt that it didn't have as much of a vacation feel as the hotels in Zhejiang. However, the main reason to stay here is the great location. So if it's your first time in Suzhou and you want to visit the gardens in Gusu District, and you're bringing elderly family members and want to go out without any pressure, Kempinski is definitely the best choice.

Suzhou Kimpton Zhuhui Hotel is the first hotel of the luxury boutique hotel brand Kimpton under the InterContinental Hotels Group in mainland China. The hotel is nestled in the embrace of a 2500-year-old moat, offering tranquility amidst the bustling city. The hotel boasts a prime location, just a hundred meters from Metro Line 5, and a 15-minute walk to the famous Canglang Pavilion and the Master of the Nets Garden. It is also about a 10-minute drive to attractions such as the Suzhou Museum, the Humble Administrator's Garden, and the Lion Grove Garden.
The hotel has a total of 179 rooms, 90% of which are equipped with balconies or courtyards. We booked a Cool Enjoy Balcony Twin Room, which is nearly 50 square meters. Not only can we enjoy the charming scenery through the window, but we can also feel the breath of nature on the private terrace of the room. It is worth mentioning that the bathroom facilities in the room are very advanced, and the toiletries are also excellent, truly living up to the luxurious boutique route!
The hotel's Chinese restaurant, Zhuxuan, specializes in Jiangsu cuisine, but you can also go out to taste more affordable local delicacies. The hotel is located near the old city area of Suzhou, only close to the Global Mall, making it very convenient for tourism and shopping.
1️⃣ The hotel is renovated from the old Zhuhui Hotel, and its scale is relatively small. Although the Suzhou garden style is retained in the design, due to the limitation of space, the public area is relatively small and looks a bit cramped.
2️⃣ The layout of the rooms is also not pleasing. To save space, the washbasin, bathtub, and bedroom are all open, which I can hardly accept this privacy design; the washbasin is very small. Generally, many hotels of this level have double basins, but this one only has one, which is quite stingy.
The rooms on the first floor are courtyard rooms, with a small courtyard outside the room, but the area is very small. Standing in the courtyard, the courtyard wall is within reach, which feels very narrow; so I immediately called to switch to a higher floor. Although there is no courtyard, I can see the scenery in the yard, which feels less depressing.
I don't know if it's because of the main structure of the old building, but the sound insulation in the room is not very good, and the sound in the corridor can be heard clearly.
3️⃣ One of the characteristics of Kimpton is dining, as its name is Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, breakfast and the bar are only used in the hotel, and they perform mediocrely. The breakfast variety is not rich, and the bar is somewhat boring. What's more outrageous is that we brought an eight-year-old girl, and we had to pay for her breakfast, which was already pitifully few in variety, and we had to pay more than two hundred for breakfast, which is really speechless
4️⃣ In terms of service, the hotel is not very satisfactory. Although the brand culture advocates personalized service, the most basic attention to the needs of guests has not been well practiced. No one helps to arrange seats in the breakfast restaurant; checking in can be deadly slow, they say it's due to lack of staff, then wait until there are enough staff before opening for business, letting guests wait from afternoon until dark before the room is cleaned, with a price of more than two thousand, where is not better to stay...
The farewell gift rabbit quality is not bad, I like it very much. 🤷 After leaving the store, the customer manager contacted me to ask about my stay experience. I didn't make a fuss. I made some suggestions, and then she didn't reply to me.
The overall stay experience is too disappointing. I feel that apart from the limitations of space and the building itself, this hotel still has many human-controllable parts, and there is also a lot of room for improvement.

I did a bit of research online for my trip to Suzhou and booked two nights at the Kimpton Bamboo Hotel on Zhuhui Road. The butler will contact you in advance. The hotel is very close to the Master of the Nets Garden, within walking distance, and it's only a ten-minute drive to various attractions. I arrived at the hotel at noon and found it was in a shopping district with many restaurants in the Global Center, all with nice environments.
From the moment I entered the hotel, I could feel the excellent service. A young man would help open the car door and carry the luggage. Check-in did not require a deposit, and they would push your luggage to the room and even upgraded us. Overall, the hotel's service was good. I specifically checked some corners for cleanliness, including whether the glasses had watermarks, and everything was very clean. The bedding was comfortable, and my friends and I fell asleep instantly, haha.
The hotel breakfast was also very rich, with both Chinese and Western options, and a whole section for drinks! Thumbs up! My favorite was the breakfast buns, even better than the ones outside~
There was also a free social hour, which we didn't experience due to our travel plans, but I really liked the garden style of the hotel. In the morning, you can take a walk and slowly enjoy breakfast, experiencing the leisurely life of Suzhou.

The hotel retains a number of items from the old Zhuhui Hotel, such as Taihu rocks, pavilions in the water, and so on. The design of the public areas is excellent, offering a view at every step. Both the interior design and the small outdoor gardens are very beautiful, but my favorite area is the courtyard.
Zhuhui has many interesting places, for example, the social hour. During certain times, guests can go to Zhuhui 168 for an afternoon drink, have some snacks, and it must be quite pleasant to enjoy the garden view while sipping on an afternoon beverage.
Kimpton is a brand that places a lot of emphasis on dining. Zhuhui has two restaurants, one serving Suzhou cuisine and the other Japanese cuisine. Due to time constraints, I didn't have the chance to dine there, but the breakfast was excellent and worth getting up early for.
Of course, not everything is praise-worthy. On the day of check-in, the air conditioning was mediocre, and despite several visits, it was not fixed properly. I hope the air conditioning won't be a letdown next time.
