Freshest Seafood in Osaka

When in Japan, visiting a local market is a must for fresh seafood and that was just what we did. Many familiar with Osaka would know of Kuramon Market with many stalls selling all sorts of produce and souvenirs. It was also just a 5 minutes from our hotel, Citadines Namba. Armed with empty tummies, we scouted the market for a place to settle our cravings. We stumbled upon Kouragumi Kuromon as they had a staff grilling all sorts of fresh seafood outside and we couldn’t resist the delicious smells. We ordered scallops, eel and sashimi bowls with fresh crab, uni and ikura. As expected, the seafood was extremely fresh and delicious. The restaurant also offered free barley tea for its patrons. That was a nice touch. It is also a foreigner friendly restaurant with English menus and friendly staff who understood English. Ordering was a breeze for us. Toilets were available too. Overall the price was a little steep, but one can expect that for fresh seafood in a touristy area. Do give this place a try when in Osaka. #tripblazers

Sure, you’ll be distracted by every shop on the way plying their spiky-on-the-outside, yellow-to-gold-treasure-on-the-inside wares, but there’s a reason why Uofuku has been at establishment at the market for decades. One of the more adventurous items I tried was pufferfish (fugu), a dish known for its delicate and clean taste. Served thinly sliced, the fugu was slightly chewy and very mild, almost like a blank canvas for the ponzu sauce it was served with. One of Osaka's popular tourist spots! So, I decided to visit during my trip. It's close to Namba Station, and there are guides at the station, making it easily accessible. The market is packed with fresh seafood, fruits, and traditional Japanese sweets shops, making it a fun place for foodies. The highlight was being able to enjoy famous Japanese dishes like seafood bowls and takoyaki on the spot. I noticed many foreign tourists during my visit, which made me realize Kuromon Market's international appeal. The stall vendors were friendly and communicated smoothly in English, making it a very welcoming place for tourists from abroad.

Kuromon Market is a food paradise in Osaka, satisfying all your taste buds at once! 🍣 Here, you can find various snacks and fresh fruits in a pleasant environment. You can choose your favorite sashimi to eat on the spot or pick ingredients for the vendors to prepare. Although the prices are a bit high, the location is convenient, right across from the subway exit. 🦪 The oysters are bigger than your hand, and the tuna belly sushi slices are huge, twice the size of those in domestic sushi! 🍣 There's also chirashi sushi with salmon roe and sea urchin, with just a small amount of rice so it doesn't fill you up. 🐙 The octopus cracker is unique, made from a whole octopus into a paper-thin cracker. Though the wait time is long, it's worth a try. 🥒 Japanese lightly pickled vegetables are also very refreshing and great for cleansing the palate. 🍈 Finally, have some fruit slices of excellent quality. Spend an hour and a half eating and exploring, and you'll be satisfied!

Graduation Trip to Osaka

This time, the destination was Osaka and Nagoya The first stop was, of course, Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi. We saw the Glico Man and took a boat ride. We relaxed and enjoyed various foods, and their famous ramen was indeed delicious!!! We also visited various famous castles, took many magnificent photos, and only shared 10 highlights with everyone!! Additionally, as an eel lover, I went to Kuromon Market and had charcoal-grilled eel rice. It was indeed tasty, and watching the grandma grill it by hand made the 2000 yen worth it. A day at Universal Studios was definitely worth it. We enjoyed various themes, and Mario was incredibly popular. Even with a Fast Pass, we waited for half an hour. It was exhausting... Overall, the entire trip was joyful and relaxing. If anyone is interested, I can share the whole itinerary with everyone.
