Oirase Stream is known as Japan's most beautiful stream, as beautiful as a Hayao Miyazaki manga in summer, and even more beautiful in fall during the red leaf season.
Many people like to hike along Oirase Stream, the scenery along the way is really beautiful and healing.
-
Photos taken on October 10, 2024,
The fall colors of Oirase Stream will take at least 10-15 days,
But the fall colors along the way through Sukayu Onsen, Suirennuma Pond, and Hakkoda Onsen are already very beautiful, but the best viewing period is still about one to two weeks away.
The fall colors of Lake Towada are just starting to show.

Lake Towada in winter.
🔶 Lake Towada in winter feels like Northern Europe. At around 1 or 2 pm, there are almost no people by the lake. Everyone is hiding in the hotel, soaking in the hot spring, and waiting for the fireworks by the lake at night.
🔶 I like the atmosphere of being at the end of the world. Children are happy to climb mountains and play in the snow.

Lake Towada: a great place to go in spring to feel the pure charm of nature
#Japanese and Korean Spring Good Places
I was lucky enough to visit Lake Towada in Japan and feel the pure charm of nature.
The weather was fine and I took a walk along the lakeside trail. At a glance, the sparkling blue lake reflects the blue sky and white clouds, like a natural mirror. The lake is crystal clear, making people marvel at the magical creations of nature.
Walking by the lake, I felt unprecedented peace and tranquility. The surrounding trees are green, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant, just like a moving ink painting. The breeze blows on your face, which is refreshing. The ripples in the lake seem to tell the rhythm of life in nature.
In the distance stands a sacred and majestic rock, as if guarding the lake. I couldn't help but marvel at the majesty of nature and stand in awe. This is like a paradise, allowing people to escape from the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in the harmony of nature.
Being here, I feel inner peace and tranquility, as if I am one with nature. This rare peaceful experience will definitely become an unforgettable good time in my life.

The Oraise Gorge
#2024wish
The Oirase Gorge is one of the most beautiful river valleys in Japan, with vibrant and fast flowing water. Wonderful and very scenic indeed, rain or no rain! I think it is one of the best forest walkibg trail in Honshu! Access to this area is can only be made by public buses between 9 am and 3 pm on some days (25 to 28 Oct 2018) during the peak foliage season.
I want to go hiking this year.
Anything travels
Viewing maples in Japan, the red maples against the blue sky are mesmerizing
Last year, I went to Tohoku, Japan, to appreciate the maple leaves. I visited Lake Towada, which is located between Towada City in southern Aomori Prefecture and Kosaka Town in Akita Prefecture. It is a double caldera lake formed due to volcanic activity. It covers an area of about 60 square kilometers and the perimeter of the lake. It is 46km in diameter and is the third deepest lake in Japan, reaching 327m. Its transparency is also very high, and you can clearly see the depth of 10 meters.
The beautiful contrast between the golden beech trees and red maple leaves on the lakeside is reflected on the lake surface to form a colorful landscape painting. Whether you are looking at the lake from the shore or from the lake to the shore, it is a stunning autumn scenery. The best period for viewing maple leaves is from mid-October to the end of October every year. In addition to being a well-known tourist attraction in Tohoku, Lake Towada, the Oirase River flowing out of the lake is also known as the most beautiful stream in the world.
Transportation: At JR "Aomori" Station, transfer to the JR bus "Kosui No." (JR バスみずうみ) bound for "Lake Towada", get off at "Lake Towada (Ryuya)", and walk for about 1 minute. Or drive there by yourself.
I want to go to Italy to appreciate the maples in 2024!

"Lake Towada: Beautiful lake scenery, maple leaves turning from green to red, a must-see!"
Since it was not a self-driving tour, I only got off at Tomonuma Station and walked around before getting on the bus. You can only appreciate the beauty of Jigokusuma and Oirase Stream from the car, and the clear blue of Lake Towada is very eye-catching and well worth a visit. We left on the morning of the second day, so we only spent an hour walking around the lake. Unfortunately, we didn't have more time to take a tour boat. View the lake scenery from the boat and feel the four seasons of Lake Towada.
Although it was only a short stay, there were many maple trees planted along the road, and you could enjoy the beautiful scenery of maple leaves turning from green to yellow, and it was so charming to watch them up close.

Japanese restaurant chapter, lakeside coffee shop
Before leaving🥹 in the morning, I reluctantly walked towards the lake in the other direction, and found a wooden coffee shop🤩. The indoor environment is very elegant🥰, with brown hairdressing chairs and wooden tables, and there is also a right-side view by the window. Lake Towada, and there is a long wooden pier outside, combined with the deep blue lake water, it is a first-class check-in! It's a pity that it's not open😢, but we have to leave again. We hope to have a chance to come back for a cup of coffee☕.

Japanese restaurant, lakeside snack shop
After lunch, I walked around the lakeside and smelled the aroma of roasted meatballs, which made me involuntarily attracted to it.
📍Location: On the way from the cruise ship terminal to the Statue of the Maiden.
🏠Environment: The indoor area is not large, but the view from the window is first-rate, facing the Towada Lake view. Under the sunlight, it shines brightly. It is a place where you can take a short rest.
🍡Yaki meatballs JPY300
Two pieces in a bunch, ready to order😚, hot and spicy, very soft and glutinous😋, and the soy sauce is delicious.
🍦Milk ice cream JPY350
The taste is ordinary 😅, just enough milky taste.

Do you think that the stream into the Oswego is endless, as if you can't see the end? Actually, it came out of Lake Towada.
Twawada Lake is a volcanic lake with an area of 12 in Japan and a third in depth. You can take a boat trip to the lake or sit by the lake and enjoy the sunset. It is also very good.
The last bus back to Aomori City is around the dinner time. It is probably the time when the lakeside restaurant is closed. Friends who are not here must be optimistic about the time, or ask the staff to avoid affecting the itinerary.
