The local natural wonder that is perhaps most ingrained in the fabric of Icelandic culture is the bounty of geothermal energy, the naturally heated water that powers our lives and heats our homes, baths and pools, public as well as private.
Vök Baths float in the beutiful lake Urriðavatn in East Iceland and are the countrie's only floating pools

Fontana - Natural hot springs near the Golden Circle
I would like to recommend one of my personal favorite hot springs, located on the Golden Circle route. Many local Icelandic groups choose this place as an additional project for the Golden Circle. Compared to the Blue Lagoon, there are fewer people here, and the facilities are very complete (I personally don't like wild hot springs, after all, complete facilities are very important). There are several pools with different water temperatures to choose from, and the scenery is very attractive with mountains and waters. If you are lucky, you can see the aurora at night!
Friends who don't go to the north can choose here, just near the Golden Circle, located on Route 37 between Thingvellir National Park and Geysir in the Golden Circle. Icelandic hot springs are generally more "natural", and the supporting facilities are very general. The hot spring in the valley near Skógafoss waterfall doesn't even have a place to take a bath, only a small pool. The facilities of Fontana Hot Springs are extremely complete, and there is also a steam room! It's very close to the geyser. When planning a trip to the geyser, you can leave three or four hours to soak in the hot springs here.
Many Icelanders like to steam in the sauna here and then jump into the lake to cool down before coming up, but my small body really doesn't want to take risks haha.
📍Fontana - Business hours can be checked online
💰3800 Icelandic krona/adult (children should have half price)
🚗You can come here when you drive the Golden Circle hhhn

If you can't book Sky Lagoon in Iceland, you can come here to soak!
📖Hot spring name: Laugarvatn Fontana
📍Address: Hverabraut 1 840 Laugarvatn island
It's a 1-hour drive from Reykjavik, it's recommended for friends who can drive by themselves.
On the last day in Iceland, I originally wanted to soak in the Sky Lagoon with my friends before leaving, but I checked on Ctrip the day before and there were no tickets! Then I looked at the Blue Lagoon and there were no tickets either (I heard from others that this is not a natural hot spring, so I didn't plan to book the Blue Lagoon at first). After a long search, I found that there were tickets for the Fontana hot spring, so I booked them immediately.
When I got there, I found out that this was the first stop of the Nice Travel three-day tour that we signed up for, Geysir 🤣 We came back after a round trip haha. The ticket price is not expensive, about two to three hundred per person (you can't compare with China), which is cheaper than Sky and Blue. The changing rooms and showers are very clean, and it seems that it's mostly locals who come here to soak, because we were the only group of four. In addition to the hot spring pool, there are several saunas. The hot spring pool is not large, but you can see very beautiful scenery! We were soaking at sunrise, and the morning glow was very spectacular on the snow-capped mountains and the sea! We also saw very beautiful scenery on the way here by car, which can be said to be a perfect end to our trip to Iceland. I was quite regretful that I didn't get to soak in the Sky, but this hot spring experience was also very good!

Geothermal steam + hot spring? Iceland Golden Circle Fontana
🤍🤍Fontana Hot Spring is located in the center of the ✨Golden Circle✨ tourist route in southern Iceland!
💙💙Features:
1⃣Multiple mineral-rich hot spring pools: You can choose hot spring pools of different temperatures, shapes, and sizes according to your preferences
2⃣Traditional steam room: The steam in the room is not water vapor but natural geothermal steam♨! The temperature of the entire room is maintained between 40-50 degrees Celsius, with the hazy and beautiful lake view in front of you, and the gurgling sound of hot springs in your ears.
3⃣Sauna: Finnish style design, the temperature is between 80-90 degrees Celsius, but the humidity is much lower than the steam room. If you don’t like too much humidity, you can come here.
4⃣Environmental atmosphere: In the hot spring center, you can see the stone artwork designed by Icelandic artist Erla Thorarinsdottir. The entire hot spring area is full of style. After soaking in the hot spring, you can go for a walk in the nearby Laugarvatn Lake. Although you can walk directly into the lake, it is more crowded in winter. Leng recommends trying it in summer! The black beach next to it is a blockbuster if you take a photo!
We booked the Reykjavik Excursions aurora + spa tour on the island. The 90 knives included transportation to the spa and the aurora chase at night. It was more cost-effective than booking an aurora tour alone, because there were less people and it was a small car, and if you didn’t catch the aurora, you could get another one. Aurora tour tickets😁😁
