Yes, I came to Liuhui Pavilion again.
This is the third time in a month, and I finally found the feeling of walking into an oil painting.
In terms of fame, Liuhui Pavilion is not even in the top 10 in the vast Zhongshan Scenic Area, but old Nanjing people have a special fondness for it, as it is like a backyard garden.
Though man-made, it is like a piece of jade embedded in the forest, isolated from the world. In late autumn, it becomes a dreamlike picture. Sweetgum, Mongolian oak, cork oak, and pond cypress... the palette is overturned, and the forest is dyed in layers.
It perfectly interprets the most beautiful picture of the change of seasons.
All materials were shot on December 1, 2024.
Location: Liuhui Pavilion, opposite WeLope Adventure Park
$No ticket
It is strongly recommended to come here after visiting the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Music Stage, which is only a three to five-minute walk. Linggu Temple is further ahead. You can also visit Linggu Temple first, then Liuhui Pavilion, then the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Music Stage, and finally the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum.

Stroll through the autumn colors of the forest—Zhongshan Yanquan Lake and Liuhui Pavilion.
🏯Liuhui Pavilion is located in one corner of the lake. The water reflects the shadows of the trees, the pavilion, and the wild ducks gliding across the water in pairs. Each season here offers a different color of scenery! The southern pond covers more than 20 acres and is named Liuhui Lake. At the outlet of the pond, a dam was built to block the water. When there is a lot of rain, the water overflows the dam and flows away, and when there is a drought, the pond does not dry up, so the pond maintains a certain water level all year round. Flowers and trees are planted all around the pond, and water lilies are planted in the pond, making it a beautiful scenic spot in the Zhongshan Mausoleum area.
🖼In fact, Liuhui Pavilion alone is not very surprising, but it is placed here, and the surrounding environment creates its beauty, like a watercolor landscape painting! It attracts tourists to stop, photography enthusiasts to yearn for, and occasionally you can see drones being flown into the air. I have seen aerial videos of this place, and it is simply stunning! Most of the time, the lake here is calm, and occasionally a gentle breeze creates ripples on the water. You can also walk down to the lake and take pictures of the reflection in the water pavilion!
🏯Yanquan Lake and the current Qianhu Park were collectively known as Qianhu, but after being divided, they have two different names. Across the lake, you can see "Taixiang Zhaoming" on the other side of Yanquan Lake, one of the 48 ancient scenic spots of Jinling, located in the pavilions and towers of Meihua Valley. It was built by later generations for the crown prince of the Southern Liang Dynasty, Xiao Tong, who was said to have loved reading and writing poetry here. This shows his love of learning and the people's admiration for his character!
📷Now standing on the south bank of Yanquan Lake and looking into the distance, it is also a picturesque scenery, of course, attracting tourists to stop and take photos, while photography masters mostly choose the time when the light is good in the morning and evening! Don't come at noon.
🍁On the other side of the crescent-shaped lake is the "Little Jiuzhaigou of Nanjing" on the other side of Meihua Valley, which is a beautiful scenery in autumn. The large areas of bald cypress trees planted in Meihua Valley are like colors splashed on a watercolor painting, turning the green leaves into colorful ones, outlining beautiful pictures. The redwood forest enters its best viewing period in late November every year, and both Meihua Valley and the boardwalk are full of photographers. If Guilin's landscape is the best in the world, then Meihua Valley's scenery is the pride of Jinling!
