One-Day Tour of Quanzhou World Heritage Sites | Yongning Ancient City + Liusheng Pagoda Park + Shihu Wharf
| Yongning Ancient City + Liusheng Pagoda Park + Shihu Wharf. 🗓Itinerary:
Yongning Ancient City Yongning Ancient Town
Here you can find red brick houses, stone houses, and cement Western-style buildings. Besides, it still retains a down-to-earth lifestyle. Some old houses are not well-maintained, which is a bit of a pity. Appreciate them while you can.
Liusheng Pagoda Park Shishi Liusheng Pagoda Park
Liusheng Pagoda, also known as Wanshou Pagoda or Shihu Pagoda, is a Yuan Dynasty building and one of the 22 heritage sites in Quanzhou. You can walk around the first floor of the pagoda, which feels a bit oppressive inside. Looking up, you can see a platform on each floor, but there are no stairs. I personally speculate that there used to be ladders. The original pagoda was built in 1111 and has collapsed (it is said that the original site was elsewhere). What you see now is the Yuan Dynasty reconstruction. The park is relatively small and can be toured quickly.
Shihu Wharf Shihu Wharf
After visiting Liusheng Pagoda Park, you can walk a few miles to Shihu Wharf, a natural reef-built wharf, a precious relic of Quanzhou's outer port. Shihu Wharf is one of the 22 heritage sites, utilizing the stone slope to achieve the function of ship docking.
The sunset here is really beautiful!
🚉Transportation Tips:
Shishi's buses radiate outward from a central point, and each bus ride feels like it takes forever. If you choose public transportation, visiting 2-3 spots in one day is not a problem.
There are many other interesting places, and I will slowly share them with everyone
