March / April are the best times to see the bright yellow fields of rapeseed flowers surrounding villages in Anhui - and Lucun is one of those villages you can explore to enjoy an escape into nature.
From Shanghai, you can take a high speed train to Huangshan North Train Station, which is only around 2.5-3 hours. Then, to reach Lucun Village, you can either take a bus from Huangshan North or hire a driver for the day. We decided to hire a driver for a day, at 350 RMB per day, to take us around a number of villages in the area.
Lucun is located near Hongcun Village, so you could easily schedule in a visit to at least two or three villages in one day if you’re pressed for time. Lucun is one of the smaller villages, charming and tranquil, and is said to be around 1,000 years old. while strolling through, we saw locals simply getting about their day prepping meals, washing clothes or heading out into the fields to work. The surrounding areas was beautiful - with bright yellow fields surrounding the immediate area around the village, and huge rolling hills in the distance.

The fall scenery of Tachuan is a colorful beauty.
📮Bring a curious heart and eyes that can discover beauty, and start a pleasant journey! As long as you want, "travel" starts the moment you step out of your house!
🏞️Attraction: Tachuan Fall Scenery
📍Address: Hongcun, Tachuan, Anhui
🚗Transportation: Take a high-speed train to Huangshan North and then take a bus from the club
💴Tickets: Free 🆓➕Hiking group fee
📷Best time to visit: November 9–10, 2024
🌈✍️Travel Notes📝
1️⃣Book train tickets from Shanghai to Huangshan North 2 weeks in advance, and then pay the hiking group fee. ❗️Train tickets to popular attractions are hard to get now! So keep calm, go if you get the tickets! If not, just don't go!
2️⃣I went hiking with a club recommended by a colleague, and it was good overall. There were 4 leaders leading a group of more than 30 people. There was one leader at the front, one in the middle, and one at the back, and there was also photography and aerial photography support. It was a happy journey.
3️⃣The 2-day hiking route is as follows:
Day 1: Depart from Huangshan North at 11:30 am ➡️ Qishu Lake ➡️ Hongcun | 8 km, total ascent 0 m, estimated 2.5 hours
Day 2: Hongcun ➡️ Zilu ➡️ Xieli ➡️ Zilingtou Observation Deck ➡️ Tachuan ➡️ Lucun | 14 km, total ascent 400 m, estimated 5.5 hours ➡️ Return to Huangshan North Railway Station at 3 pm.
4️⃣It was sunny on the first day, and it rained before 7 am on the second day. It was drizzling at first, but fortunately, the sun came out around noon, and it was hot when we had lunch in Lucun at around 12 pm.
5️⃣Overall, this trip was not tiring, mainly because there was not much climbing, but the journey was a bit long. But fortunately, the scenery was really beautiful, and I saw the colorful scenery I wanted to see. Even if others said it would be more beautiful next weekend, the beauty I saw at that moment was the most beautiful! 🥳
‼️Tips: Homework before going out
✅Leave footprints 👣, but try not to leave trash!
✅Pay attention to the weather and prepare rain gear for outdoor hiking!
✅When you are out, remember ♥️ safety first ♥️

The best time to view the autumn scenery, but it's hard to find a spot due to the crowds.
11/12 - Morning fog at Lucun|||The autumn scenery at Lucun is at its best! There are really a lot of people! I went to the Lucun viewing platform at 5 am, and it was already full of people. I met a kind lady who gave me a spot. The parking lot was full at 5 am, but you can park on the roadside! If you want a good spot, I suggest leaving at 4:30 am! The sun rises at 6:50 am!
Photography tips: The best time to shoot is 20 minutes after sunrise. You can wait for the viewing platform to finish shooting and then go down to the hotel to shoot. Try to finish shooting within 20 minutes after sunrise. After 15 minutes, the sunlight will cause water vapor to rise, and the air transparency will be very poor, with a lot of fog!

You can always believe in the autumn of Anhui's southern region~.
🌟 Compared to the long summer days in Jiangnan's ancient towns, I prefer the autumn in Huizhou's ancient villages. The blue tiles, black walls, and horse-head walls are like a traditional Chinese ink painting. In autumn, the red leaves of the Chinese tallow tree and maple tree, and the golden rice fields, create a stunning autumn landscape. In 2024, be sure to take a look at the autumn colors of Anhui's southern region! 🚗🍁

🏞️ Hongcun, Yixian County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, a place full of poetry.

2️⃣ Lu Village: Morning mist, cooking smoke, white walls and black tiles, and red Chinese tallow and maple trees, condense the autumn colors of Jiangnan into a painting.
3️⃣ Hongcun: A typical representative of Huizhou ink painting, the large fields outside the village are the most beautiful landscape.
🕘 Best Time
From mid-to-late October to mid-November each year, the leaves of the Chinese tallow tree turn red, and the rice fields are golden, the autumn colors are at their peak.
🍂 Autumn Viewing Suggestions
The weather in Anhui's southern region is generally good in autumn, and sunny days are more suitable for sightseeing and photography.

There are some high-end hotels near the scenic area, and there are also guesthouses and inns in the village, with many options.

The most beautiful autumn in Wannan's ancient villages is a visual feast!
Autumn in Wannan is known as one of the most beautiful places in China. It is rated by National Geographic as the most beautiful ancient village in Wannan and is one of the four classic autumn viewing spots in China.
Autumn here is like a beautiful rural field painting. The autumn colors of Tachuan are known as the "most beautiful autumn colors in Jiangnan". The leaves of the Chinese tallow trees turn red, contrasting with the horse-head walls of the Hui-style buildings. There are "Huangshan Top 100 Photography Spots" on the outer ring road around the village, and every shot is a blockbuster. The morning mist and smoke, white walls and black tiles, and red maple leaves of Lucun condense the beautiful autumn scenery of Jiangnan. Navigate to the "Lucun Viewing Platform" to enjoy this dreamy scenery. Hongcun is a typical representative of ink and wash Huizhou. The large fields outside the village show a different charm in autumn.
In addition, the food in Huangshan is not to be missed. Mao tofu, stinky mandarin fish, and Fangla fish are all worth tasting.
Travel tips:
• Best travel time: The autumn colors in Wannan reach their peak in mid-November each year.
• Accommodation recommendation: When there are many tourists in Hongcun and Xidi, you can choose to stay near Tachuan or Lucun. It is recommended to book in advance.
• Best time to enjoy autumn colors: Go out half an hour before sunrise in the early morning, and the sunrise time in autumn is around 7 o'clock.
Come to Wannan and feel the autumn of the most beautiful ancient village!

Lumur and the guesthouse||Lumur has few traces of commercialization.
||Lumur has few traces of commercialization. Lumur and the guesthouse||Lumur has few traces of commercialization. After dinner, there is only the sound of gurgling streams and the low whispers of birds that have not yet rested on the slate road, accompanied by drizzle; there are only people enjoying the coolness and dogs resting on the bluestone slabs by the roadside, reflecting the dim lights. The mountains are hazy in the mist, shrouded in the night, looming, and the street lights are hidden behind the bushes or leaves, flickering and changing.
On the slate road in the lake, one ear is used to listen to the stream, and the other is used to listen to the insects. As you walk farther and farther, the sound of the stream is sometimes loud and sometimes weak, but the sound of the insects is always there, and you can sing in chorus or solo.
The homestay decoration is mostly made of camphor wood, which is simple and elegant. The room is full of the scent of camphor wood. Sitting under the courtyard and looking at the patio, the night sky covered by clouds is nothing. Moving to the courtyard, sitting on the swing and blowing the moist evening breeze, I almost forgot that this is a night in August. The first quarter moon is still behind the clouds, but when the clouds are not so thick, it dyes a light yellow light, which just falls on the unique upturned feet of Huizhou architecture.
Only then did I realize that the night in Lijiang is not as good as Jiangnan. The altitude of more than 2,000 meters is always a bit sad and cold even in midsummer, but the night in the water town is cool and moist, humid but not sticky, quiet but not lonely.

Compared to Hongcun, I love Lucun more
A place of utter devotion for life, with no dreams of returning to Huizhou.
🌟 Relative to Hongcun, Lucun does not require an entrance fee, and it is not commercialized at all. It is a very typical Huizhou-style village where one can experience the idyllic scenery of small bridges over flowing water. The entire village is traversed by a stream of 'living water' that is very clean, where you can see small fish and ducks. Villagers also wash things in the river, creating a scene reminiscent of an ink painting. Students often come here to sketch.
🌟 Suggested duration of visit: It is recommended to stay overnight and get up early the next morning to experience the tranquility and freshness of this natural village, and then have lunch at noon.
🌟 Recommended food: Affordable small restaurant, reasonably priced and tasty, but the place is small with only one auntie cooking, so the waiting time is quite long, and the environment is just a small eatery with flies around

Lu Village, overshadowed by the fame of Hongcun, is tranquil and simple, a treasure in my heart
Lu Village, also known as Zhishan Village, is located on the south side of the important traffic route of Yangzhanling. According to the 'Lu Family Genealogy of Zhishan in Yixian County', the Lu family shares the same origin with the Jiang family, with the ancestors of the Lu family originally ennobled in Qi by the Grand Duke. Later descendant Jiang Gao, due to the chaos of war, once foraged in the reeds, and to ensure that his descendants remembered the hardships, they adopted Lu as their surname. During the time of Emperor Gaozu of Han, Lu Ban made significant contributions to the founding of the nation and was ennobled as the King of Yan, with his fief located in Zhuo County of Hebei, later renamed to Fanyang County. His descendant Lu Dongmei's son Lu Yi moved to Xuancheng, Anhui. Lu Yi's son, Lu Zhen, moved to Ge Village in Taiping County, which is now the area around Guo Village in Huangshan District. Lu Zhen had three sons, and the third son, Lu Xuan, was so enamored with the beautiful mountains and fertile lands to the north of Yi that he moved from Ge Village to Zhishan at the end of the Southern Tang Dynasty, becoming the progenitor of the Zhishan Lu family, a history that spans over a thousand years.

2-day 1-night Self-drive Itinerary | I regret not bringing my parents to Yi County earlier
I had hastily visited Hongcun before it became popular, not realizing that this quiet and ancient traditional Hui-style village would one day be bustling with noise and become the tourist highlight of Yi County, nor did I know it was just one of the many treasured ancient villages in Yi County. Although the reflection of Moon Pond is unforgettable, on my return to Yi County, the overly lively Hongcun no longer piqued my interest. After spending more time exploring other ancient villages, my parents and I felt deeply moved by Yi County. It's not only beautiful but also offers great food and shopping. With a quick search, it's incredible to find that in addition to the two World Heritage sites of Xidi and Hongcun, there are 6 national historic and cultural villages and 44 traditional Chinese villages. It's like a 'lifetime is not enough to see them all' series. Here's the record of my first self-drive trip to Yi County for 2 days and 1 night📒
D1 Lucun - Lucun Viewing Platform - Hongcun Moon Pond Check-in
D2 Bishan Village - Pingshan Village - Nanping Village - Xidi
Lucun🌟
2 kilometers away from Hongcun, it's much less famous, but I still like it a lot. Right at the entrance of the village, there's a typical Jiangnan charm with small bridges over flowing water. You must see the wood-carved buildings in the village, each with its own story.
You can choose to go to the Lucun Viewing Platform to watch the sunrise or sunset, which should be very beautiful. Due to the itinerary, I only saw a regular panorama in the afternoon, but I still found it quite nice.
❗️You can drive up to the viewing platform, just navigate directly.
Hongcun Moon Pond🌟
Tickets are too expensive, so I didn't go in, but I let my parents take a tour. The old babies took a check-in photo at Moon Pond and then came out, saying it was too crowded and commercialized, and they lost interest in visiting.
Bishan Village🌟
The most hopeful village brought a bit of disappointment. The positioning as a small fresh and artistic village is quite good, the village is not small, and the environment is also fine, but it seems that the whole village has not been completely renovated. Apart from the well-known Bishan Bookstore, there's almost nothing to see. You can check out the exhibition of Bishan Village's renovation materials in the studio that used to be the supply and marketing cooperative. It's good that it's not far from the county town, so it's worth a visit if you're passing by.
Pingshan Village🌟
A super popular sketching village. I quite like it, with its rich colors and lively atmosphere. The colorful ancestral halls have made their mark among the many ancient villages. Besides, there are many attractions such as ancient temples, ancient houses, and ancient wells.
Nanping Village🌟
The film and television village chosen by the national master. Also known as the Maze Village and the Chinese Ancient Ancestral Hall Museum. The symmetrical traditional aesthetics and the grand and majestic architectural layout are very photogenic. Especially the water mouth is worth a look, where you can understand the typical characteristics of Hui-style villages.
Xidi🌟
Hongcun and Xidi are not free all year round, and the experience on free admission days is said to be very bad, so if the tickets are too expensive and you only want to visit one, Xidi is still the better choice. Following the hotel lady's suggestion, I went to see the night view of Xidi, which is indeed more interesting than during the day. It's a somewhat distinctive commercialized ancient town.
Cuisine🍚
Hui cuisine is surprisingly delicious. The local restaurants I chose blindly were all good, and the wild vegetables and bamboo shoots of this season are tasty. You can try the local chicken soup and braised small river fish, both are fresh and tender.
Accommodation🏨
Staying in the county makes it convenient to go anywhere. The GreenTree Alliance Hotel in the county has a good location, very quiet, with a view right outside the window, and not far from the door is the food street.

Discover the true essence of ink-washed Southern Anhui as you explore this guide
Lu Village is located just 1 kilometer north of the famous Hongcun, yet it is much quieter in comparison.
The ancient residential complex in the village was built during the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era by Lu Bangxie, a fourth-grade imperial court official. The complex still preserves intact the Zhicheng Hall, Siqi Hall, and Sicheng Hall. The most famous structure in the village is the Lu Village Wood Carving Building, also known as Zhicheng Hall, which was built by Lu Baiwan for his six wives. The wood carvings in Zhicheng Hall are grand and intricate, with nearly every inch of wood covered in patterns, utilizing various carving techniques, and representing the pinnacle of Huizhou wood carving craftsmanship.
Lu Village is nestled between mountains and water, with the Xiaomen Creek to the west and the Qianjie Creek to the east, converging to the south to form the Fengzhan River. The core buildings are arranged along the banks of these two creeks, complemented by stone steps and wooden bridges, making the village both a mountain and a water town.
If you're tired of the bustling crowds of Hongcun and seek tranquility nearby, why not follow my route and visit Lu Village?
1. Siche Bridge, the stone bridge you see after entering from the south gate ticket checkpoint, was built during the Song Dynasty. In spring, there are large fields of rapeseed flowers near the south gate.
2. Lu Lin Alley, a small alley along Qianjie Creek, is a typical Huizhou-style rain alley.
3. Follow Qianjie Creek, pass by Zuixi Building, and continue to Yancreek Inn. Along the way, there are several stone bridges and pavilions, with mountains close and water afar, making for great photography spots.
4. Tian Lantern Alley and Wood Carving Building Cluster, where you can witness the exquisite craftsmanship of Huizhou carpenters.
5. Sicheng Alley, a small alley perpendicular to Qianjie, offers beautiful scenery.
6. Lu Village Viewing Platform, a must-visit spot in Lu Village located on a nearby hillside, offering a panoramic view of the village's beauty.
7. After exiting from the west gate ticket checkpoint, you can walk along Xiaomen Creek to the south gate ticket checkpoint, where the stream babbles and ducks play in the water.
Travel Tips

Lucun Village in Yi County | Not just a pretty sight, but also home to a 'top trend'
Just 2 kilometers away from Hongcun, Lucun was the first stop that revealed the beauty of Yi County to me. Despite its low profile, it is a treasure trove of a village with the charm of southern China's beauty and has secured a place for itself among the highly competitive ancient villages of Yi County by housing the 'Number One Wood Carving Building in China'.
Originally named Zhishan Village, according to their clan records, the ancestors of the Lu family of Zhishan in Yi County were founding heroes of the Han Dynasty, including the Prince of Yan, Lu Ban. By the end of the Southern Tang Dynasty, their descendant Lu Xuan settled here to avoid the chaos of war, marking the start of over a thousand years of continuous history for the Lu family of Zhishan. Throughout the long years, Lucun has faced numerous wars and was once described as 'houses in ruins, tiles and bricks everywhere, and the living in dire straits', with only 'two or three out of ten survivors'. Yet, it has repeatedly risen from such calamities on the road to rejuvenation. The landscape and seasons here are touching, but perhaps the village's intangible charm lies in its resilient vitality that has thrived through blood and storm.
Although Lucun no longer boasts its former glory, it remains a 'living' traditional Huizhou-style ancient village. With mountains as its backdrop and built around water, the village, facing south and backing north, is embraced by two intersecting streams that flow endlessly. The alleys in the village serve as a skeleton, connecting one old house to another, each telling its own story.
The village has a thriving literary culture, with a preference for Confucianism, and is permeated with the influence of Huizhou culture, especially a wood carving building named 'Zhicheng Hall'. Its owner was the famously wealthy Qing Dynasty merchant Lu Bangxie, known as Lu Baiwan. It is said that in ancient times, because private residences could not surpass the imperial system, wealthy Huizhou merchants invested heavily in architectural decorations, leaving us with the exquisite skills of the 'Three Carvings of Huizhou'. The wood carving buildings in Lucun were built by Lu Baiwan for his six wives. It is said that it took twenty years for two exceptionally skilled craftsmen to complete them. Today, many of these techniques have been lost, but the remaining works still tell the stories of the 'unknown artists' who once created these masterpieces. You must take a close look; every carving is so interesting, with rich themes and full of meaning. The techniques include mixed carving, line carving, hidden carving, relief carving, and through carving, allowing one to fully appreciate the essence of Huizhou wood carving. Unfortunately, due to historical reasons, most of the faces in the wood carvings have been dug out, with only a few preserved thanks to the Lu family descendants who covered them with yellow mud. It was a near miss for this wood carving building to become an absolute gem.
Before leaving the village, be sure to visit Lucun's viewing platform. Although it's not the most beautiful season, overlooking Lucun wrapped in greenery, you can still feel the village in the midst of spring's intoxicating revival.
📒 There may be an admission fee on holidays, and you can drive to the viewing platform.
🌟 There is a parking lot at the entrance of the village 🅿️

Lucun Village in Yi County | Experience the exquisite Huizhou wood carving buildings and enjoy the leisurely and relaxed slow pace of life
Lucun is only 2.5 kilometers away from the Hongcun scenic area. The most typical and characteristic feature of Lucun is the wood carving buildings, which embody the essence of Huizhou residential architecture and are known as the 'Number One Wood Carving Building in Huizhou'. The Lucun wood carving buildings consist of a complex of wood carving buildings made up of seven households, mainly including Zhicheng Hall, Siji Hall, Sicheng Hall, Glass Hall, and other residences.
Lucun is nestled against the mountains and by the water, with a stream to the west of the village called Xia Men Creek, and a stream to the east called Front Street Creek, which converge to the south of the village to form the Fengzhan River. The residential houses on the east side of the village are built along the creek, with many extending out over the water, featuring open verandas, offering a unique charm.
At the entrance to the village, there is a stone bridge called Si Che Bridge, which was built during the Song Dynasty. Next to the bridge, ancient trees reach up to the sky, and in the middle of the village, there is a water channel, an artificially constructed canal. It crosses the village from Xia Men Creek in the west, winding through the village, making the water channel clear and lively, and exits from the east end of the village, connecting to Front Street Creek. The babbling creek flows through the village...
The wood carving art of the wood carving buildings is exquisite and delicate, with some using techniques such as shallow carving, deep carving, and openwork carving, creating richly layered patterns with a strong sense of three-dimensionality. For example, 'The Picture of Nine Old Immortal Deer', 'The Picture of Seven Sages in the Bamboo Forest', and various figures and animals such as the Eight Immortals are vividly portrayed, reflecting the superb skills and wisdom of ancient artisans.
The Lucun viewing platform is located on a small hillside outside the village, from where you can overlook the entire panorama of Lucun. The vigorous old trees at the village entrance, along with the vast golden fields of rapeseed flowers, paired with the ancient Huizhou architecture of small bridges and flowing water, create an especially enchanting scene!

Regret not going earlier | Huizhou Spring Travel and Flower Viewing Guide
A lifetime of infatuation ends without a dream to Huizhou, how can this spring be without Huizhou

In Lu Village, near Hong Village, I was healed by a cat
Yi County Lu Village is about 1km away from Hong Village, it is highly recommended to take a look!
Lu Village is an ancient village mainly inhabited by the Lu family, with a history of over 1000 years. Two streams pass through the village, and you can just follow the stream to play.
📌Lu Village is not big, famous for its wood carving building, which is a representative of Huizhou wood carving. It was carved by two wood carving craftsmen hired by the rich merchant "Lu Baiwan" of the Qing Dynasty for 20 years. Among them, the wood carving of Zhicheng Hall is the most exquisite.
📌In addition to the beautiful scenery and wood carvings, the story of this "Lu Baiwan" and his six-room aunt is also a must-listen when you come to Lu Village, which is fascinating.
💡This time, when I was taking pictures on the bridge, a kitten ran over to my feet, which was very healing. There are really many small animals in Lu Village, and there are ducks swimming in the water.
⭐During the Spring Festival, you can collect stamps and check in at the scenic spot, and you can also get free admission with the arrival of Yi County high-speed rail ticket. The daily ticket is 50 yuan/person
💡ps. In about two months, the 800-acre rapeseed flower sea outside Lu Village is even more shocking.

Huizhou Treasure Ancient Village Lucun | An severely underestimated ancient village
Huizhou Treasure Ancient Village Lucun | An severely underestimated ancient village
Lucun in Yi County, Huangshan, is a typical Huizhou ancient village with a history of thousands of years and is home to the Lu family. The characteristic of the ancient village is the group of wooden carved buildings built by the wealthy merchant Lu Baiwan for his six wives during the Qing Dynasty. The incredibly exquisite wood carvings took 20 years to complete. The Huangmei Opera 'Women of Huizhou' and the TV drama 'Into the Blue River' were filmed here.
🌟Highlights:
The Zhicheng Hall in the wooden carved building group has three entrances, the front hall, the main hall, and the back hall, which are the places where Lu Baiwan's eldest and second rooms and parents live together. The carvings in the main hall are very beautiful, with eight doors and windows on each side. The upper half of the doors and windows are carved with delicate patterns, and the lower half are carved with auspicious patterns and historical legends. Look carefully for a pair of 'Horse on the Seal (Monkey)' on the left door and window, where a scholar on horseback meets a monkey, with a strong sense of three-dimensionality.
From the side door of Zhicheng Hall, you can walk into the private school built by Lu Baiwan for his 24 children, then pass through the kitchen with many stoves, and arrive at the Siji Hall where the fifth concubine lives. The beautiful carvings on the winter melon beams and the official couch on the right side of the living room are worth noting.
Then pass through the high and deep alley to the Sicheng Hall where the third and fourth rooms live. The dragon spring under the small piston on the ground, a pair of stone piers carved into bundles of bamboo, and the wooden barrel for heating are all interesting objects. There is also a glass hall where the sixth room lives in the wooden carved building group. The glass imported from Germany is only 2 mm thick and the craftsmanship is exquisite.
❤Recommended reason:
Only two kilometers away from Hongcun, if you are tired of the crowds in Hongcun, you might as well stay in Lucun to enjoy the quiet.
Strolling between the alleys of Lucun, because there are not many tourists, it is more suitable for a quiet and leisurely holiday choice. Find a homestay in an old house, order a cup of tea, hold a thick book, and it's very comfortable.
Lucun has a history of thousands of years, the road surface of hemp stone slabs, and the life under the white walls and gray tiles accompanied by streams, is still continuing.
🎫Scenic area ticket: 50 yuan
🕙Opening hours: 07:30-17:30
📍Detailed address: Lucun, Hongcun Town, Yi County, Huangshan City, Anhui Province
🚉Travel strategy:
You can take a local tricycle to Lucun, but it is recommended to walk. Renting a bicycle from a farmhouse in Hongcun is also a good choice, with a rural scenery along the way.

Compared to Hongcun, I prefer this poetic and secluded ancient town for a trip to Anhui
Compared to Hongcun, I prefer this poetic and secluded ancient town for a trip to Anhui. Usually, the first choice for tourists is the famous Hongcun, but few people know that there is a low-key treasure of the Qing Dynasty ancient town - Lu Village, built by Lu Bangxie, a fourth-rank minister of the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty.
1 This place has the famous 'First Building of Huizhou Wood Carving' which took a full 20 years to carve. It is a masterpiece of Huizhou wood carving art, reflecting the good meaning of wealth and auspiciousness everywhere. Looking at the swallows flying in front of the Yanzi Hall, it has a sense of the vicissitudes of the old Wang Xie's front hall.
2 There are few tourists in the ancient village, far away from the hustle and bustle. The distant clouds cover the green mountains, the stream in front of the village, the arch bridge is covered with dark green vines, a lazy cat is sitting at the wooden window, like a secluded village forgotten by people.
3 The descendants of the Lu family still live in the ancient house. They tell the stories that once happened in the house. The gourd shape on the wall, the pomegranate persimmon tree planted in front of the hall, was planted by Lu Baiwan when he got married, representing the good meaning of fortune and wishful thinking. There is an inconspicuous well cover on the floor of the wood carving building. When it is moved, you can see a small well the size of a palm, which was used to fetch water for the owner in the past. The large transparent glass installed in the hall was imported from Germany by Lu Baiwan for his favorite concubine. After listening to these oral stories, the history hidden in every brick and tile came alive.
In the early morning, the mist rises and gently falls on the black tiles and white walls. Lu Village is looming. On the viewing platform on the back mountain, you can overlook the entire village and feel the quiet and distant ancient village years.
Food: Lu Yuan Inn
The landlady is warm and simple, and the food she cooks is also very delicious. Chestnut stewed chicken, reed white fried meat, and Ma Lan dried fragrant are all delicious, all of which are home-cooked. Some tourists come here from other places to have dinner.
Tourist information
Ticket: (September, October) Time: 07:30-17:30
Attractions: Viewing platform, Zhicheng Hall (Wood Carving Building), Siqi Hall, Sicheng Hall and other courtyards

Stop blaming Anhui Culture and Tourism, us outsiders will help promote it
The unique charm of Anhui can only be deeply felt by those who have truly been there. Without exaggeration, Anhui is one of the few places that I want to visit again after going once, it really has a strong appeal. Leaving Anhui feels like a breakup😭, I'm already looking forward to the next meeting.

⛰️"Climb Huangshan, there are no mountains in the world, and the view is enough."
In a so-called off-season of Huangshan tourism, without Lotus Peak, without Tiandu Peak, without West Sea Grand Canyon, I climbed Huangshan for the first time and finally understood why everyone says "After returning from the Five Mountains, don't look at the mountains, after returning from Huangshan, don't look at the mountains." The beauty of Huangshan is the vigorous pines growing in the stone cracks, the endless mountains and seas when looking far away, the ink and wash real scenes of people traveling in the painting, the lifelike monkey watching the sea, the strange peaks and rocks under the magic axe and god work. When people come to Huangshan, they know what a strange mountain is and what a pine is.

📍"Green water and green tiles·Ink Hongcun"
Green bricks and grey tiles horse head wall, Huizhou's ink painting town, Hongcun deserves its name. Hongcun backs the mountain and faces the water, a never-drying spring, two rivers encircling the left and right, lying in the shape of a cow under the mountain. Hongcun has a history of about 900 years and still well preserves hundreds of ancient residential groups with pink walls and green tiles. Walking in the old streets and alleys to appreciate the profound cultural heritage of Huizhou. Walk on the stone bridge where Li Mubai led the horse in South Lake, feel the beautiful scenery like ink painting; watch the red lanterns hanging in the ancient houses and the hanging corridors and flower windows in Moon Marsh, experience the tranquility of ancient Huizhou.
-
📍"Ink Jiangnan·Huizhou Lucun"
I saw the most beautiful sunrise in my life in Lucun. The morning mist has not yet dissipated, the cooking smoke is rising, and Lucun, like an ink painting, wakes up leisurely in the crisp crowing of chickens, showing the Eastern aesthetics to the fullest. The Zhicheng Hall in Lucun is known as the "First Floor of Huizhou Woodcarving", and the ingenious woodcarving skills, every detail can make people praise. Lucun does not have a strong commercial atmosphere, but retains a more original ancient village form.
-
📍"Pillow Mountain and Surrounding Water·Xidi Ancient Village"
People say "Hongcun sees the scenery, Xidi sees the architecture", Xidi Village is boat-shaped, all streets and alleys are paved with Yixian green stone, rows of houses, like the cabins of a big boat; the archway and big tree at the head of the village are like masts and sails; nearby farmland and lake fields surround the village, like a big boat moored in the harbor. There are more than 300 existing Ming and Qing residences, these ancient residences are unique in style, beautiful in shape, a model of Huizhou architecture, and enjoy the reputation of "China's Ming and Qing Residential Museum".
-
📍"Sketching Holy Land·Pingshan Village"
Pingshan Village is much rougher than Hongcun. Most of the people who come here are sketching students. There are many small shops in the village dedicated to sketching, KTV, snack shops, etc., and there are also dedicated sketching bases. The first impression of Pingshan Village is simplicity and tranquility, not commercialized development, ancient villages plus more life-like sketching services, I really want to live here for a long time.

Autumn in South Anhui | Almost missed - Lu Village
Lu Village - an unexpected scenic spot in my South Anhui itinerary. I was about to drive away from Hong Village, but the innkeeper recommended that I could go there, since it's only a 10-minute drive anyway. So I decided to drive by, and it turned out to be really nice, with Huizhou-style architecture and the autumn scenery of South Anhui, very beautiful! By the time I arrived, it was almost eight in the morning, the sun was fully up, and many photographers who had been squatting in the morning had already started to withdraw, but there was still some morning mist lingering, so I quickly took a few shots before it dissipated!

PRISCILLA OLSON
Huizhou is a word that gives people unlimited imagination. Tang Xianzu, a famous opera singer of the Ming Dynasty, once wrote in a poem: Want to know gold and silver, mostly from Huang Bai. I have never been dreamed of going to Huizhou. Huizhou has always been a warm and nostalgic name in many people's hearts. In the early summer of May, the sun shone on the earth. In the land of Huizhou, the mountains and rivers are as selfless and loving as the mothers. They are good at water, rich in morals, natural in the Tao, and heaven and earth, and everything grows with nature. The mountains are filled with jade and the mountains are shining. This season is as bright as the sun, this place is as happy as the sun. Its a pity if you dont take the season when you are not in the sunshine.

Later transferred to the official career, the official to the doctor of the government, the doctor of the government.
