Suzhou Day Trip
I've been to Suzhou many times, and it's really hard to find a unique and interesting route to walk again. A weekend day trip, the route is Dinghui Temple - Twin Pagodas - Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda - Huan Dai Temple - Baoshan Temple - Mingyue Zen Temple - Mingyue Bay Village. Can't say it's particularly good, but it's still recommended.
Suzhou Station take the subway to Lindun Road Station, Dinghui Temple is in the alley next door. Before touring, you can have a Chinese Bruch at the neighboring Wanfuxing, which is said to have been founded in 1911.
The alley is named after the temple, called Dinghui Temple Alley. The temple is said to have been founded during the Tang Dynasty, and the existing buildings were rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty. In front of the temple, there are two huge ginkgo trees. When the autumn wind blows and the leaves turn yellow, it must be extremely beautiful. Of course, now they stand in front of the door like two braids, making the temple lively and playful.
To the east of Dinghui Temple are the Twin Pagodas. The Twin Pagodas are yellow all over, and to be honest, they don't look high-end, but fortunately, they are surrounded by trees, and the ruins of the damaged grand hall next to them immediately present a sense of historical vicissitudes.
Continue east along Dinghui Temple Alley, pass through the popular Twin Pagodas Market, and walk for ten minutes to find the Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda. The brick pagoda is very low in height, but it is tightly structured, exquisite and delicate, with a modern aesthetic.
Next to the Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda is the Xiangmen Subway Station, so you can also walk in reverse, first to Xiangmen and then towards Lindun Road Subway Station.

To capture these twin towers, I made a special trip to Suzhou
To capture these twin towers‼️ I made a special trip to Suzhou.
✅ The Suzhou Twin Towers, also known as the Luohan Yuan Twin Towers, are located within the Twin Towers Yard on Dinghui Temple Lane, Fenghuang Street, Suzhou City. The towers are divided into 7 levels, with the east tower standing at 33.3 meters and the west tower at 33.7 meters. Built during the Taiping Xingguo period of the Northern Song Dynasty, they are a pair of Buddhist pagodas. The two towers are only about 20 meters apart, and such closely situated twin towers are unique in the country.
❤️ Friendly Reminder: If you want to visit the twin towers up close and learn about their history, it is recommended to buy a ticket for entry (ticket price is 8 yuan, open from 08:00 to 16:30). If you just want to take photos and check in at the twin towers, there is no need to buy a ticket to enter, as the most beautiful photo spot is not inside the Twin Towers Yard.
📷 Photo Spot: Wu Zuoren Art Museum, free but requires reservation (back garden on the first floor, beside the window stairs on the second floor) Suzhou Tourism Information Center 3rd floor (Fenghuang Street Central Station)
🚇 Transportation: Take Suzhou Metro Line 1 to Lindun Road, exit from Entrance 1 and walk 550 meters.

📸Best Photo Spot for Twin Towers
It takes over 20 minutes to reach Dinghui Temple Lane from the hotel. The photo spot is on the third floor of the tourist center. Bought a cup of coffee on the first floor ☕️, which comes with a framing box, quite nice
🍃The beautiful scenery of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River has its own charm. In the city of Suzhou, there is a pair of ancient buildings that together form the 'twin jewels' of Suzhou City. These are the Suzhou Twin Towers, two cultural treasures condensed with a thousand years of history
🌸The Suzhou Twin Towers, namely the East and West Towers, with the North Temple Pagoda to the east and the Lingyan Pagoda to the west. They are located on the east and west sides of the ancient city of Suzhou, echoing each other, each with its own characteristics
🌿The Suzhou Twin Towers have witnessed the prosperity and flourishing of this ancient city. They were built during the Tang Dynasty and have a history of a thousand years. Stepping inside the towers is like walking through a corridor of time, having an intimate conversation with history
🌷The Twin Towers are like a label of the ancient charm of the south of the Yangtze River, silently telling the accumulation of years and the heritage of history. Every carved flower, every window lattice, is a crystallization of the wisdom of the ancients
🎍At the foot of the Twin Towers, the world changes, people come and go, and a thousand years of history blend here. The gentleness of the water towns in the south of the Yangtze River and the profoundness of Suzhou's culture meet and merge here
🎋To feel the charm of ancient history, let us pay tribute to this pair of towers. In this era of quick success, let us stop, settle our minds, and feel this respect from a thousand years
🪷If you have the chance to come to Suzhou, why not witness the elegance of the Twin Towers. They are representatives of the ancient charm of the south of the Yangtze River and also the spiritual symbol of Suzhou City. A solitary magnolia stands out in its splendid beauty
Dinghui Temple is located in Dinghui Temple Lane, with the ruins of the Arhat Court Twin Towers. Admission to Dinghui Temple is free, while the Twin Towers charge an 8 yuan ticket fee. Today's focus is on the magnolia flowers, so I didn't take a close look at the historical sites and hurriedly left after finding a spot to take photos. If it weren't for the flowering season, I guess there wouldn't be many people around, and I'll take the opportunity to visit more leisurely next time. The spot to view the Twin Towers from a distance is on the third floor at the corner of Fenghuang Street and the alley. If you want to see the reflection, you can go to the courtyard on the first floor of the neighboring exhibition hall, but with people and fish moving, the water surface keeps shaking, and I didn't see the beautiful reflection.
Suzhou Twin Towers Travel Guide
The Suzhou Twin Towers, officially known as the 'Luohan Yuan Twin Towers and Main Hall Ruins', are colloquially known as the 'Brother Towers' or 'Sister-in-Law Towers'. They were built during the Song Dynasty and are located at Dinghui Temple Lane, Fenghuang Street, Suzhou City. In 1996, they were designated as a national key cultural relics protection unit, managed by the Suzhou Cultural Relics Protection Management Office.
The Twin Towers are a pair of Buddhist pagodas, about 20 meters apart, facing each other from east to west. Such closely situated twin towers are unique in the country and have been used as a case study by architects such as Liang Sicheng and Liu Dunzhen. The Twin Towers were built in the seventh year of the Taiping Xingguo era of the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 982). The east and west brick towers are remnants of the Northern Song Dynasty's Luohan Yuan, and to the north of the towers, the ruins of the Luohan Yuan main hall still retain stone columns and steps from the Song and Ming dynasties. Despite multiple restorations over a thousand years, the original form from the early Song Dynasty has been preserved. The towers are soaring, both with seven levels and a total height of over 33 meters each. Although the exterior walls of the towers are octagonal, the interior square rooms follow the old system since the Northern Wei Dynasty, serving as physical evidence of the evolution of brick tower plans between the Tang and Song dynasties.
For bus travel, you can take the city bus routes 2-8-40 East Line-200 South Line-202-501-529 and get off at the Twin Towers stop, then walk about a hundred meters to arrive.
For subway travel, you can take the Metro Line 1 in the city, get off at the Lindun Road Station Exit 1, and then walk about 600 meters south to arrive.
Opening hours are 7:30 to 16:30, with last entry at 16:00. The ticket price is 8 yuan

The stunning magnolia flowers beneath the millennium-old twin towers are so beautiful that they leave one speechless
The magnolia trees under the twin towers of Luohan Yuan are in bloom,
marking the most beautiful moment of the year for the twin towers.
The thousand-year-old twin towers,
the pure white magnolia flowers under the blue sky,
and the ancient and rustic beauty that has withstood the test of time...
The Suzhou twin towers are located in Dinghui Temple Lane at the southeastern corner of the city, and are the two most distinctive brick towers in Suzhou, built by the brothers Wang Wenhan and Wang Wenhua during the Tang Dynasty. One is called the Relic Tower, and the other is called the Merit Tower, both of identical architectural form, hence also known as the 'Brother Towers'. Locals in Suzhou also refer to the twin towers as the 'Sister-in-law Towers'.
In the second year of the Xiantong era of the Tang Dynasty (861), Sheng Chu established a Buddhist temple here, originally named Prajna Temple, which was renamed to Luohan Yuan by the Qian family of the Wu Yue during the Five Dynasties period. From the seventh year of the Taiping Xingguo era of the Northern Song Dynasty (982) to the Yongxi period, the Wang brothers donated funds to renovate the temple buildings and added two brick towers. For over a thousand years, only the pagoda spires have been repaired in rotation, with the structural style remaining unchanged. Although the outer walls of the towers are octagonal, the interior square rooms still follow the old system since the Northern Wei Dynasty, serving as physical evidence of the evolution of the brick tower's floor plan between the Tang and Song Dynasties, and are now a national key cultural relics protection unit.
The two towers are only about 20 meters apart. Such closely situated twin towers are unique in the country, as building two towers so close to each other requires very high ground foundation standards, demonstrating the scientific precision and unparalleled wisdom of the ancient working people's architecture.

The magnolia flowers at Suzhou's Twin Towers are truly stunning!
🌸This spring, under the blossoming magnolias at Suzhou's Twin Towers, one can experience the essence of spring in the Jiangnan region.
The Twin Towers have become a hot new internet-famous spot in Suzhou, even gaining nationwide popularity. There's also the adjacent Twin Towers Market, the originator of internet-famous food markets, which is a very artistic and photogenic check-in spot. This grand display of magnolia flowers is only available for a short two-week period each year for visitors to admire, making it a limited and sacred spring scene in Suzhou.

In March, the top flow of Yulan magnolias in Sucheng is about to bloom
If you are walking in the ancient city of Suzhou citywalk, then please make sure not to miss the recent Shuangta Yulan flower season.
Besides paying 8 yuan for a ticket to enter the Shuangta scenic area to enjoy the view, the following two positions can also be used for reference –
1️⃣ Wu Zuoren Art Museum Free reservation for a visit, and the backyard pond just reflects the twin towers and magnolias in it.
2️⃣ Wuyu Coffee A good place to take a break and have a coffee after walking around, where the view from the third-floor window blends the ancient with the modern.
The photos were taken on February 17th, and I'm afraid I won't be able to catch the flowering season again this year, so pictures 1 and 2 are just to express my thoughts.

There is a saying that "there is a tower must have a temple", but there are two towers in a temple. The only twin tower combination in the country is located in Suzhou, located in Dinghui Temple Lane. The two ancient towers are only more than 20 meters apart, and the architectural form is exactly the same. One is called Stupa and the other is called Gongde Tower. The
two towers are divided into 7 floors, the east tower is 33.3 meters high, and the west tower is slightly 33.7 meters high.
Suzhou Twin Towers is also the ruins of the main hall of the Luohan Monastery. Now the back of the twin towers only leaves the stone base of the main hall of the original Luohan Monastery. The main structure is gone. In the courtyard of Sanjin, there are many ancient stone carvings and stone monuments. The pillar stone carvings and tombstones displayed in the courtyard reflect the artistic style of stone carving in various periods since the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
Tasha is said to weigh five tons. It was a mystery how to put it in the past.
