Flowers bloom in Fukuoka, where the city's dreams of yesteryear mingle with the blossoming of spring in Maizuru Park
🌱 First Visit to Maizuru Park 🏞️
In the gradually warming March breeze, I stepped into the story-filled Maizuru Park. Beneath the cherry trees, history and nature weave together vivid tapestries. This place is not just the ruins of Fukuoka Castle, but also the most beautiful backdrop for spring.
🏰 The Millennium Echoes of Fukuoka Castle 🎎
Maizuru Park, once the site of Fukuoka Castle, still has its walls standing tall, narrating the vicissitudes of history. Wandering between the stone walls, one can almost hear the neighing of warhorses, the pledges of samurai, and the echoes of history gently reverberating in every corner.
🌸 The Romantic Moments of Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom 📷
Each cherry blossom tree proclaims the arrival of spring with its blooms, and the delicate petals are particularly dazzling against the azure sky. When taking photos, I particularly enjoy capturing the harmonious coexistence of flowers and people, like in this picture, sitting quietly by the lake, enjoying a moment of peace.
🌤️ The Spring Light and Shadows of Fukuoka 🌿
Sitting on a bench in the park, the view before me is refreshing to the soul. Model boats float on the lake, and as the breeze blows, ripples dance across the water, while the graceful koi fish swim leisurely in the clear water, bringing a unique tranquility to Fukuoka.
🤸 The Vibrant Park Life 🚶♂️
Maizuru Park is not only a great place for flower viewing but also a spot for locals to exercise and relax. One can almost feel the vitality of the runners, who sweat along the lengthy cherry blossom path, leaving behind the footprints of their youth.
🌼 Encountering the Confession of Spring 💖
Under the cherry trees full of spring, I look up at the pink sea of flowers, and my heart can't help but surge with love for this season. A gust of spring wind brings falling petals, like nature's tender confession to the city.
Maizuru Park, a treasure filled with history and nature, whether it's the cherry blossoms illuminated by the spring light or the Fukuoka Castle in the river of history, inspires respect. It's a place worth visiting and revisiting, where every corner is filled with stories and the power of life. Next time you're in Fukuoka, don't forget to find your own spring story here.

Sakura are blooming 🌸 although not a lot. However still can find decent trees to take some beautiful photo 📸. The park ⛲️🪴 is big. It is a very big park, wear good shoes. And it is getting sunny! And will sweat with the walking around the park. Another 5 days or so, it should be more beautiful 😻

A must-visit park in Fukuoka City! Maizuru Park
Maizuru Park is located about a 15-minute walk from Tenjin, the center of Fukuoka City in Japan. It is a park built on the former site of Fukuoka Castle, which was constructed by the feudal lord Kuroda Nagamasa, who ruled over 520,000 koku in Chikuzen. The park is symbolized by the ruins of Fukuoka Castle.
The natural scenery of the park is very beautiful, and it is also a famous spot in Japan for cherry blossom viewing. Every spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, many visitors come here to enjoy them. In addition to cherry blossoms, there are also peonies, azaleas, plum blossoms, camellias, and other flowers that bloom in different seasons, making it a beautiful place at any time of the year.

Cherry blossom at sunset in Fukuoka in March
While most of the cherry blossom forecast predicted March 16/17 to be the date for first bloom in Fukuoka, when I visited Maizuru Park on March6, at least 50% of the Sakura were already in full bloom.
The Sakura trees are just under the castle ruin wall so it is quite pretty and great for taking photo. At sunset, the view is particularly beautiful and you can catch the right shot with Sakura and the orange sky.
In addition to the Sakura, there were also narcissus under the trees so all in all it is a great place to see cherry blossom in the city.

Fukuoka's City Ruins Park is a beautiful park known for its beautiful scenery in every season. This is the ancient city of the first generation of Fukuoka sect, Kuroda, who started in the 6th year of the Qing Dynasty (1601) and took 7 years to complete the construction. There are large, medium and small Tianshoutai and about 50 gongs in Pingshan City. There are many existing relics (precious cultural heritage), tidal seeing, lower gates, imperial gates, longhouses, etc., Datianshoutai is today's observatory.
The moat has a natural wild vegetation memorial designated by Fukuoka Prefecture, and there is a monument in the city. This is a historical site designated by the state and is also known as the “Dancer City”. There are also sports facilities such as the Athletics Arena in the park, located next to Ogaki Park and Fukuoka City Art Museum. Every spring, the tourists who enjoy the flowers are very busy and very lively.
