Listen to advice! Finish reading this article before you go to Malacca, and attach photo spots
I have turned another page of this world, this book
—— Stepping into the historical and geographical Malacca🌊
✨✨Let's talk about the things to note when going to Malacca:
✅ It is recommended to go on Fridays and weekends, as many shops are open then. Many shops are closed from Monday to Wednesday (we went on Monday and Tuesday and many places were closed)
✅ For taxis, it is suggested to use the AirAsia app, as it offers the cheapest fares. (Malacca is not big, and taxi fares are generally around 6 or 7 Malaysian Ringgit)
✅ You can book bus tickets on the red bus, the bus station is a bit far, so it's advised to allow enough time. (We bought our tickets at the self-service machine at the station when we saw a suitable time, it was not crowded and faster, the manual ticket counter is slower)
✅ Malacca is very safe, we two girls walked back after eating supper after 10 pm without worrying about danger
✅ The people of Malacca are also very nice, whether asking for directions or looking for someone to exchange money at the station, they are very enthusiastic. (I even met a local who directly helped me by giving me money, grateful heart)
✅ Malacca has a Jonker Street night market every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which is very lively
👉Travel route:
Malacca is small, and it's possible to arrange a one-day visit. We wanted to slowly experience Malacca, so we planned two days.
DAY1⃣️: City citywalk: Jonker Street➡️Dutch Square➡️St. Paul's Hill➡️Sultanate Palace➡️Church of St. Paul
DAY2⃣️: Boat trip on the Malacca River (30 Malaysian Ringgit per person)➡️Malacca Strait Mosque (watch the sunset)
📷Photo spots:
1⃣️Dutch Square Red House: Appreciate the Dutch architectural features, it is recommended to go to the second floor for the best shooting location
2⃣️Church of Saint Paul: Climb the hill from the Red House, about 10-15min, to see the oldest church in Malacca⛪️ and you can also overlook the sea of Malacca from above
3⃣️Jonker Street: In Hokkien, 'Jie Chang Street' is transliterated here as Jonker Street, where you can enjoy coffee, shop around (be cautious as there are many products from Yiwu),
4⃣️Malacca Strait Mosque🕌️: Don't miss this place when you come to Malacca, a good spot to watch the sunset, and also the blue Atlantic
👗👗
Girls can try the local Nyonya costume, which is quite distinctive and highly compatible with Malacca. 40 Malaysian Ringgit per set (all are washed after wearing), if you don't wear a white tank top, you will be asked to buy one. You can go to the Nyonya Museum to take pictures.

Ban Kheng Cafe
Located by the Malacca River, this Bang Kheng Cafe is a renovated old shophouse, which has largely retained its antique decor. It is adorned with various antiques and retro props, and the soothing strains of classical music play in the background. Enjoying coffee and delicacies here truly offers a unique charm.
The cafe prides itself on the homemade bread prepared personally by the proprietress, freshly baked every day. The selection of bread includes Sourdough, Focaccia, or Toast, which can also be paired with mushroom soup, cauliflower soup, curry soup, and more.

Colorful Walk Along Malacca River
Hey there! Let me tell you about my colorful stroll along Malacca River in Malaysia. It was like stepping into a whole new world full of surprises, from mouthwatering treats and street art to breathtaking historical buildings that had me feeling like a time traveler.
Picture this: I'm walking along the riverbank, and all of a sudden, the air is filled with the most amazing aromas. Restaurants and bars line the waterfront, offering an incredible variety of tasty treats. I couldn't resist digging into authentic Malaysian dishes and washing them down with refreshing drinks while enjoying the cool breeze and stunning views.
But here's the best part – the street art! Everywhere I looked, there were jaw-dropping displays of vibrant colors and creativity. I mean, who needs an art museum when you have the entire city as your canvas? The murals, graffiti, and sculptures told stories of culture and history, making me feel like I was walking through a living, breathing gallery.
My stroll along the Malacca River was an absolute blast! The mix of scrumptious food, colorful street art, and historical sites made it a memorable trip.

A day trip to Melaka
#malaka
Malaka is a historical history. I remember visiting few places like A famosa, Jonker street and the Melaka River itself. Spending the evening chilling by the river was one of the relaxing things I ever felt. I wish I did try riding the boat that bring you around by the river, would be a better experience to view some places from the boat. Price wise for foods and accomodation were fair, there’s a lot of visitors going in and nice that they didnt increase prices of some services by a lot.

A Sight To See At Malacca River
#malaka #history #malacca #malaysia #attraction #tourists #MustVisit
Melaka is a popular stop place for a tourists destination or a rest stop for people travelling to KL.
It is filled with vibrant culture and heritage especially around the city centre by the malacca River, and of course there is a story behind it.
If you go early in the mornkng(due to the less crowds and easier to find parking), you will be able to see the many arts painted on the walls around the city centre especially near the river where it tells a story on the trading that happens along the rover which flow thru the city back in the 15th century.
But of course, don't expect the waters to be crystal clear, as the waters here are greenish murky. Alsp don't forget to visit the famous malacca cathedral which is a monument which is an 18th century alocan Church still standing.

Night stroll along Malacca River
📍Another weekend trip to Malacca this new year!😍 This time i stayed at hotel overlooking the well known Malacca river. Malacca is a World Heritage City and most attractions & historical monuments here are well-maintained since the Dutch colonization period.
With Malacca river at the centre flows through the Malacca city, this heritage city offers many attractions and historical buildings alongside the river. Some of the buildings were painted with colourful & creative murals.
✨You can enjoy day or night stroll along the river (the cost is free!) by following the brick looking path and/or pedestrian walkway alongside the Malacca river. They also provide maps at few pitstop near the bridge. Of course I prefer a night stroll with cold windy breeze😂
✨Leisurely night stroll along the river and you may encounter the Makan Avenue, the Waronk cafe (famous eateries), the Hard Rock Cafe, Jonker Walk, the Melaka River Cruise, the Quayside Hotel and even the 5 star Casa Del Rio Melaka. Not to forget, take your time to wander through the alleys in the neighborhoods.
Surely worth a visit!✨

Melaka River Cruise! best ever!
Nice 30mins+ boat ride in a calm canal/river. I can see that the maintenance of the murals and painting along the river's edge have not been done during the pandemic. But there are some new buildings with some pretty interesting architecture along the river edge.
Colourful lights along the river. ride with narrative explaining historic structure along river bank. Took 15 min ride until maritime museum and turn back. Rm 25 adult and RM15 child for Malaysian. Walk in around 6.30pm for night ride.
I love what they have done on both river banks. They kept the old homes and warehouses and converted them into fabulous riverside hotels, shops. cafes, eateries and street arts.
Must do activity if you are ever in Melaka. Very reasonable price on the tickets, a very informative cruise and the view during the cruise is really amazing. If its not much, I can say that you will know about the whole Melaka just by taking this less than an hour river cruise.
A brilliant idea in providing this cruise by the Melaka state government.

Historical River turn hipster haunt
One of the highlights of a trip to Melaka is to explore the river walk. Wait until the sun is not so hot (around 5-6pm) and start walking along this historical river. The scene along the way is very interesting with beautiful street art, quaint shops and cafes. The sky reflected on water is out of this world.#tripblazers #awesomepic #urbanexplorer
If you’re tired, just stop at small cafes and stalls that you passed by for a cendol or milo ais. Sit and watch people passing by and the cruise boats that carry tourists along the river. This is a must do for instagrammers and tiktokers. No matter how many times you had passed trough here before, you’ll still find new things to admire. #foodie

Solo trip to malacca Malaysia
Traveling alone forces us outside of our comfort zones, which makes us more receptive to new people and experiences. And solo travelers like me on some trips you'll have interesting conversations with people you'll never speak to again, which is fine.
Malacca City (also spelled Melaka) is the capital of the coastal state of Malacca, in southwestern Malaysia. At its center, Jonker Street, Chinatown’s main thoroughfare, is known for antique shops and its night market. Nearby, the 17th-century Chinese Cheng Hoon Teng temple has ornate decorations and multiple prayer halls. A green, 3-tiered roof tops the 18th-century, Javanese-influenced Kampung Kling Mosque.

Melaka River
Also known as the Malacca River or the Sungai Melaka, Melaka River is one of the famous tourist destinations in Malaysia. It was so relaxing to stroll along Melaka River anytime in the days or nights. Well maintained pavement walkway for visitors and locals to walk or jog. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants, hotels and bars along the way. At night, you will be amazed by the beautiful colourful lighting.
One of the best ways to take in the colonial architecture of UNESCO World Heritage Site of Melaka is aboard a Malacca River cruise sailing past picturesque riverbanks and beneath numerous landmark bridges.

Cruise at Sungai Melaka
The Malacca River does not sleep at night whereby lights and illuminations brighten up the surroundings, attracting many tourists to that area. Cruise ferry is available at night offering a spectacular view for tourists to enjoy the night view of the river. The ferry will carry us from the jetty to the main spot of Jonker Walk, while passing by some old village left today as heritage buildings.
The surroundings are also vibrants with eateries and pubs operating which adds up the vibes of the surrounding area. Be sure to stroll around the old city of Malacca and Jonker Street after the cruise trip.

Malacca River Walk
View is so classic for photography day and night. The whole length of this walk way from the begining which starts at the mouth of the Melaka River is about 3.5 kilometres. You can do a short, medium or very long walk as there are many cross over bridge along the river. It well litted up at night. The walk way is located on both sides of the river and the river is clean. The walk is very scenic and it passes through a few historic landmarks and beautiful bridges. The murals on the various buildings lining the river is very beautiful. There are cafes along the river where you may sit, drink juice and enjoy the view.
Loved the well-kept surrounding.
You could get tickets for the cruise to tour along the river.
Very reasonable price on the tickets, a very informative cruise and the view during the cruise is really amazing.

MALACCA :PERFECT SIDETRIP FROM KUALA LUMPUR
#passionpassport
Known as historical city of Malaysia, Malacca is definitely one of the worth visiting city if you are planning to visit Kuala Lumpur. Located only less than 2 hours from Kuala Lumpur ( approximately 1 hour 30 minutes), this worldheritage city promised a wonderful experience for those who are interested in historical part of Malaysia.
Apart from historical part, this lovely city is also a place where you can get a taste of different delicacies like "Asam Pedas Melaka", Keria gula melaka, coconut shake, Cendol along with some other local foods.
Melaka River cruise is a must do activity as you will get different perspective to view Malacca city which is used to be an important sea port ( Malacca strait) connecting the west and the east.

Walk Along the Malacca River
Malacca City is located in West Malaysia. It is a famous tourist destination due to its colonial past, museums, forts and the preserved old town.
I took a walk along the Malacca River and I absolutely loved it! Malacca River is quite long so I recommend to start your walk from the Jonker Street.
It is a car free area so you can freely walk and enjoy the view. There are a lot of restaurants 🍲 with outside seating available that serve local food as well as international dishes. Malaysian food is spicy so make sure to clarify the level of spiciness you want for your dish.
There are river cruises available, it costs 30RM per person and you can enjoy the architecture surrounding the river while sitting down on the boat and enjoying the cool breeze.
Stick around for a while and catch the sunset along the river to see the sky change colors.
Enjoy your trip to Malacca and put walking along the Malacca River on your itinerary 😊

The morning of Melaka River is brighten by the vibrant murals along the stretch of riverwalk while the night transform Melaka River into another attraction of its own with the colorful lights shining from the bridge, trees and sides of the riverwalk.
If you have the time, visit them both in the morning and at night to see the differences in real life:)
This place is hard to be missed as it is situated right along the central attractions of Melaka such as Jonker Street, Dutch Square etc.
Pro-tip: The whole riverwalk is super long so you may consider taking the River Cruise/Water taxi to enjoy the scenery without tiring your legs out😉

Morning walk beside the beauty Melaka River
We stay just at the side of Malacca river, whice is the Tun Fatimah Riverview Hotel , so it just a free walk besides the beautiful and great of Sungai Melaka, while reminiscing of the Malacca history.
There are people walking, jogging, cycling and just scrolling around the area. It's such a fresh and great morning with tnatural view.
The shop beside the river will just open after 5pm as here night is the day. Even though many shops there, still it is really clean and sharp.
The river start from the foothills in the neighbouring state of Negeri Sembilan and feeds into the Strait of Malacca. Enjoy the walk here ❤️
