City of Pagodas: Mandalay
A trip to Myanmar is a journey of the soul and Buddhist culture, washing away the restlessness deep in the soul and making it more peaceful and joyful.
Mandalay, Mandalay Province, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the second largest city in Myanmar, is not only the economic, political, and cultural center of Myanmar, but also a famous city of pagodas and a tourist destination.
Mahagandayon Monastery, also known as the Thousand Monks Monastery. It is the largest monastery in Myanmar. Every morning, tourists from all over the world gather here to witness the shocking scene of thousands of monks having meals together. There are no restrictions on vegetarian or non-vegetarian food in Myanmar's monasteries, and the monks eat whatever they receive as alms. There are two meals a day, at 4am and 10am, and only water can be consumed outside of these times.
Emerald Buddha Pagoda, the only pagoda in the world built entirely of emerald. At night, the emerald body emits a soft green light, bringing a sense of peace and tranquility to people.
Ubun Bridge, the world's longest century-old pomelo wood bridge. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world to watch the sunset. As the sun sets in the west, standing on the wooden bridge with your loved one, basking in the afterglow, it is so romantic and happy that it is also known as the "Lovers' Bridge" by the locals.
Mandalay Palace is mainly red and gold in color, showing the noble temperament of the royal family. Although it is not as luxurious as other palaces, it is particularly grand. Climbing the tower, the entire palace is in full view, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Gudutao Pagoda, meaning "the greatest merit pagoda in the world", has 729 cloud stone tablets inside, on which the Tripitaka is carved. If a person reads for 8 hours a day, it would take more than 400 days to finish reading them all. These stone tablets are also known as "the greatest books 📖".
Golden Palace Monastery, a stunning masterpiece of zelkova wood architecture. Originally a golden palace, after years of wind and sun, the golden color has faded, leaving only black memories: the carved figures on the wooden doors and windows are arranged in an orderly and three-dimensional manner, making this 150-year-old monastery a classic of wood carving architecture.

The Palace that was completely made from teak wood was built in the center of a large citadel or fort. The square citadel was surrounded by four walls each 2 kilometers long with a total of 48 turrets. In the walls were 12 gates, one for each sign of the Zodiac. Around the walls was a 60 meter wide moat, crossed by a number of bridges.
In 1885 during the reign of King Thibaw Min the British took Mandalay ending the Konbaung dynasty. The Palace was looted and converted into a fort for the British army. During the second World War the Royal Palace was destroyed by fire after a bombing raid. The only two original buildings that survived are the Royal mint and the watch tower. During the 1990’s the Palace was rebuilt following the original design but partly using modern materials as concrete.
Inside the Palace there are some artifacts on display in glass showcases and several reproductions of thrones. Much of the original artifacts that were in the Palace at the end of the 19th century are still on display in a British museum. Several rooms of the Palace display life size statues of King Mindon Min and his successor King Thibaw Min, the last Burmese King. Today part of the citadel complex is used by the Burmese army, the Palace and surrounding gardens are open to the public.#nationalpark

The Mandalay Palace, the last feudal dynasty of Myanmar's "Gongbang Dynasty", seems to have seen the time here;
Mandalay Palace, the palace has two places to be, one is high After the thirty-three-meter watchtower climbs a hundred and twenty-level stairs, it will take a bird's eye view of the entire palace and the city of Mandalay. Another must-see place is the museum, where the items used by the king of Myanmar, a small number of furniture, photographs, etc., are the only places where you can learn about the history of Myanmar.
The palace is small in size, but there are many buildings inside. There are a large palace, a living room, a large harem inhabited by the emperor, and a red wall in Jinwa, all of which are of Burmese style. There are no furnishings. Inside is the Museum of Ancient Burmese Culture, which displays the costumes, supplies and Buddhist art of the court. The entire palace is square and wooden structure. There are 104 temples in the palace. The buildings are mainly red and gold. The distance is dazzling and magnificent, and the gallery is beautiful.

The front hall is magnificent, and the harem is a red building. The red building white bar, there is a bit of fun under the blue sky. It is suitable for a white dress, leaving beautiful photos here.
When taking pictures in the apse, we also met tour groups from other parts of Myanmar. When we saw that we were taking pictures, maybe which star is it? A group of people took a cell phone around me and patted it, so hey. The
Imperial Palace tour must wait for the wooden watchtower next to it. The entire palace is unobstructed and is the best place to shoot. There are also several white Western buildings here. Restored the architectural features of the 19th century Imperial Palace. Very interesting.
Overview from the tower, the entire palace has a panoramic view, Zhuwa Jinbian, neatly and without change, in the green trees, there is always an exotic feature. Unfortunately, apart from this replica of the palace, nowhere else in the Imperial City can be visited. Very sorry.
The Mandalay Palace is square, with a length and width of 2,000 meters. The houses on the palace square are progressively divided into two parts. The east is a man, the west is a son-in-law, and the two are between the two temples. The lion's throne of the sacred king is placed high in the middle. The hall below the throne is the steps of the king's ceremonies and the local halls and thrones of the foreign ambassadors, symbolizing the high power of the king. The inner hall behind the throne enshrines the statue of "Nate" - "Mahajiri". "Nate" is a god of Myanmar. There are natural gods of heaven, earth, mountains, water, etc., as well as ancestors of families and tribes, and even slaves. "Mahajiri" blessed the imperial and royal generation for peace and prosperity.
The evening sun reflects the turrets of the ancient city, the sky is full of clouds, the ancient city is far from the mountains, the trees are shadowed, and the reflection creates a serene and far-reaching beauty in the calm mirrored moat.
Mandalay is the last capital of the former Burmese dynasty. There are many ancient capitals in the history of Myanmar. Only the city of Mandalay was preserved relatively intact, although the palace was reconstructed after being destroyed. Mandalay has now become the center of tourism, reflecting the splendid past of ancient Burmese culture.

Mandalays city centre is home to the last dynasty of Myanmars tributary dynasty. It is a place like the Forbidden City in Beijing. It is a deep red palace wall and a moat. Of course, compared with the splendid atmosphere of the Forbidden City, Mann The Dreux Palace is far less spectacular than the Forbidden City. Today, the Mandalay Palace was rebuilt on the original site by the local government. It was completed in 1996. Most of the area is still stationed by the Burmese army. The only ones open to the tourists are the ones of the palace. The palace is popular among locals. The place where I visited a lot of locals visiting the palace, young and old, I dont know how they felt when they visited the old palace of the old royal family. Maybe its the same with our visit to the Forbidden City. The old Wang Xietang Qianyan, flying into the ordinary The home of the people.
Tips
Tickets: Mandalay Palace requires tickets to enter, you can buy a Mandalay City Scenic Pass for 10 per person (valid for five days), from the Imperial Palace Dongdaemun.
The highlight that can't be missed: You can climb the watch tower with a height of thirty-three meters and climb the 120-level staircase to see the entire palace.
In addition, the palace has many beautiful windows and doors, suitable for taking pictures.
The Mandalay Palace was built in 1859 and was originally the palace of the last dynasty of Myanmar. The entire palace is square and the houses are all wooden. There are 104 temples in the palace. The buildings are mainly red, but occasionally some wall windows and doors are lively and jumping, with several colonial styles. The royal palace is magnificent, and the porch paintings are beautiful.
It is a pity that World War II destroyed the palace. Now the sights we saw were reconstructed by the Myanmar government in 1989 and can only respond to some of the sights.
Mandalay is suitable for renting motorcycles and it is very convenient to go directly to the sights.
Tickets: The Royal Palace does not accept tickets, but foreign tourists need to purchase Mandalay Pass, 10000 Kia / Zhang, valid for 5 days

Imperial Palace presents a strong Bagan style, with layers up, one layer smaller than the Mandalay Palace at Mandalay Palace, which looks like a Bagan pagoda. The buildings are all red walls and the edges are yellow. The Imperial City is surrounded by a wall of up to 9 meters, and the bottom is 3 meters wide. There is a tower every 200 meters. A wooden railing outside the moat, 60 meters wide, separates the Imperial City from the outside world.
However, the real area of the palace is not much. The rest are military restricted areas. There is no secret in the entire palace wall. Before entering, there is no ticket to buy. Foreigners should buy tickets directly outside. There is really nothing special about the
royal palace. After entering the beautiful house, there is no feeling of the deep palace compound. However, the round watchtower is a bit interesting, or it is made of wood.
When it comes to wooden architecture, except for the golden teak palace that the palace goes to, it is magical. For the first time, I saw the temple of the whole wood. So old, I can still walk on it, and the gold paint falls off but there are traces. Can follow, but also did not enter the special to scrape out. The carvings are exquisite, although the wooden temples can be found larger, but they are not so beautiful.
