Morocco, a land blessed by heaven, a country that makes people worry, the dusty Sahara Desert, the faint nostalgia of Sanmao's past life, Casablanca that came out of the movie, and a fairy tale world by the Mediterranean Sea. Marrakech~ Marrakech is located in the south of Morocco and is known as the "Southern Pearl" of Morocco. This largest earthen city in the world is the most prosperous tourist destination and party paradise for young people in North Africa. Marrakech is divided into the old city and the new city. The historic and culturally rich Medina is wrapped in a thick 10-kilometer city wall and is also the most popular gathering place for tourists. The sunset in Marrakech always makes people intoxicated. The afterglow turns the minarets of the Koutoubia Mosque into golden, and the golden sunlight kisses the pink mud bricks of the city walls until they turn deep red. However, the melancholy sunset is not the protagonist. Just like every night for the past 1000 years, the wonderful performances staged in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square are already in full swing~

The wild Morocco

Morocco is a country that surprised me totally. It’s way more modern and wealthy than I knew before or what people told me about it. Transportation is easy going - you can either take busses, local trains, or even petit taxis. And all for normal prices without big worries. Every city has its own specialty and traditions. Marrakech is definitely busy and touristy, a must see but probably not the best option to stay for a long time if you’re looking for a calm place. On top of all, the south is covered with the Sahara and offers a lot of options for desert tours and ways to explore. Highly recommended!#morocco

When in Morocco

Morocco is a country with rich culture, this can be seen in a local artisan community with workshops scattered throughout the medina where men and women bring tjeir crafts to life. using traditional tools and methods, souvenirs from Marrakech are really one of a kind. We bought some wonderful rugs that have really cool fabrics, there are other interesting items that can be bought there like argan oil, spices, colorful lanterns, and babouche slippers. There is also a coffee shop that we passed by that really serves a great coffee, the ambiance is very spectacular and the coffee is really good. They have selections of coffee from more than 40 countries. Morocco is full of architectural wonders, just by looking around i feel relaxed. My eyes wonders the picturesque town and colorful walls of the city. I

Life in the City Wall

The Medina old town is an old Islamic capital originating from the 11th century. It is enclosed by 16km of ramparts and gates. It attracts several people from different parts of the world. Because of its historical sites, colourful markets, and stately houses identified as Riads. A maze of narrow streets and magical souks, its cobblestone streets are traversed by donkeys, pedestrians and motorcycles, and had changed very little since they were first laid out. People live and work in the Medina, there are residences, school, mosque, hammam, museum, and souks selling copper, leather, carpets and many more. The medina of Marrakech was inscribed on the World Heritage list in 1985 due to its impressive collection of monuments.

Marrakech, the second largest city in Morocco, is known as the passionate 'city of red'. The old city of Marrakech is the largest earthen city in the world. The old city is full of Arab characteristics, with all houses in bright red. The entire block is filled with warmth and vastness because of this warm red color. The roads in the old city are winding and complex, and it is easy to get lost if you are not careful. Walking around the old city, wandering around the old streets, the blocks are crisscrossed, shops are lined up, one after another, making people dazzled. Each shop has different things, all kinds of leather and fabrics are hung on the wall, colorful and very beautiful, which complements the brick-red tone of the entire city. Walking through the streets and alleys of the old city, you can deeply feel the strong Arab style.

Come with me or with my Friend Lahcen to discover all most popular treks .Meet in Imlil (1,740m), set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains, a main trailhead with streams and paths branching out in all directions. Here you will leave your vehicle to take a welcome glass of mint tea in the village and chat with you prior to setting out for some 15kms excursion. towards the south to the Berber village of Azzaden valley via Tizi Mazik Mountain pass 2489m, passing the hamlets of Arghen, Mazik, up and down the stark slopes, the jagged Western High Atlas peaks of the Toubkal Massif before us - Jbels Aguelzim (3,547m), Aksouâl (3,847m) and the Adrar Adj (3,122m) watching us all the way.There will be a stop at Tizi oussem village to visit this rather singular village in the Assif Aït ouazzaden Valley, built seemingly house upon house on a large moraine spur, overlooking ancient irrigated terraced fields of barley, corn and vegetables and always surrounded by almond and walnut trees. The trek then continues for another half hour until the stop for the lunch it can be an option which my be served among a berber familly in the village of Idissa. After lunch you set off back . European tourists always say that business people go to Casablanca and vacationers go to Marrakech in Morocco, because all your imaginations about Morocco are in Djemaa el Fna Square in Marrakech. I am one of those who carry such imagination. Shouts, music, arguments, drums - these are the sounds of Marrakech. Perhaps the One Thousand and One Nights is indeed as noisy and entangled as the human world, where people, in order to survive in the desert and scorching sun, hone their lives into a fierce drama. I watched the dramas unfolding vividly beneath my feet and was deeply moved by Marrakech. Love it or hate it, life is still a struggle, like the cactus in the Sahara.

Tourists seem to travel through thousands of years, and the ancient times unfold slowly like a scroll. Walking into the Ali Ben Youssef Medersa, you forget the hustle and bustle of the market and the yellow mud walls of the streets, and a quiet, peaceful, and exquisite Islamic-style courtyard appears before your eyes. The finely carved stone and wood carvings on the walls are amazing, symmetrical and meticulous, without the gorgeous stained glass windows and murals of Christian churches, but they show the skills and wisdom of the craftsmen of the time. Traveling and visiting many religious places, I learned that only Islamic temples have carvings without figures or animals, mostly geometric shapes or Arabic characters, simple and elegant. Many places around are decorated with blue-green tiles, typical of Muslim architecture. There is a water pool in the middle of the first floor, which is the place where Muslims wash before chanting. The main attraction for us non-Muslim tourists is to appreciate the exquisite ancient architecture and take beautiful photos with light and shadow. Al-Azhar Mosque and University was founded in the 14th century and is one of the largest and most magnificent theological schools in North Africa, where students from all over the world study scripture. The small rooms on the second floor are narrow and may have been used as a place for students to read and meditate. Stepping into these small rooms leaves one with endless imagination. Tourists peering out the windows have become a picturesque scene for photography. The Theological Institute is located near the Marrakech Museum, and one hour is enough for a visit. Admission tickets are required for visiting the Theological Institute. It is recommended to go early in the morning to avoid crowds and better experience its mystery and majesty. Locals call the Theological Institute "SCHOOL", and it is easy for tourists to find.
