We stumbled on this area when looking to fine the RWC fan park.
One thing I thought I wanted to feel and experience in Japan was a small tremor, however seeing the relics of the destruction here and the exhibits I think I'm glad I didn't.
It's quite jaw dropping to see some of the devastation and seeing the area which has been left as a reminder is quite thought provoking.
This area would be easy to miss, but is well worth seeking out and having a peaceful reflection for an hour.
It is a true site preserved with an exhibit showcasing what happened during the earthquake and the result which impacted the citizens lifestyle. Worth sparing abit of time for a brief visit.

Sit back and relax at Meriken Park
#2024wish
One of our favorite attractions/places in Kobe, especially at night. There is so much going on at this park from beautiful light displays to the Be Kobe sign. You can easily spend a few hours here just walking around. There are many places to sit, relax, and take in the views as well. For photographers, this is a great place to visit and practice long exposure shots or night photography. Highly Recommended!
I want to come here again and relax.

It is the best night scene in Kobe City - the night view of Kobe, one of the three major night scenes in the United States Park
Japan, is a friend of Kobe must not miss it! Although the official night view of the best night view can be seen in the Mount Maya viewing platform, the Moye Mountain is still a long way from downtown Kobe. Not only does it take a long way to go, the most sad thing is that the cable car on Mount Mayaya is only a few weeks away. Days can operate until the evening! This time, I was able to catch up with the Maya cable car at 5 pm when I was in Kobe. I could only miss it!
Where is the night scene in the city? The American Park and the Kobe Port Tower are undoubtedly my best choice! Instead of standing on the tower of Kobe Port, you can recommend the American Park through the glass, and you can not only photograph the beautiful Kobe Tower, but also take a closer look at Kobes most famous Ferris wheel. Of course, when I go The beauty of the sky, the sunset and the burning clouds, really indescribable shock!
Transportation: From JR Kobe Station, you can walk directly to the American Park and walk for 20 minutes! You can also take JR to Motomachi Station and walk for 10 minutes!
Shooting Guide: Shooting night scenes, a tripod is a must! Camera parameter setting: AV file, between aperture F9-11, ISO is adjusted to the minimum, long exposure can be! If you want to shoot a night portrait, you can adjust the aperture to a large degree to create a blurred background!
Tip: If Google Maps is navigating, be sure to note that Kobe Port and Kobe Port Tower are two places, please navigate to Kobe Port Tower!
