Coming to Macau is the real city work! Can't stop walking
Macau Peninsula Old Town
We smoothly entered the border from Hengqin Port at eight o'clock, it's not a weekend or a holiday, so there are very few people! We took a taxi directly from the port to the Ruins of St. Paul for 100💰
🏃♀️The itinerary is as follows
1. The Ruins of St. Paul has a manageable crowd around nine o'clock, and you need to queue for the wall overhead shooting position👭
2. To be honest, the Big Cannon Fort is not very interesting, it's just a small park, just walked around next to the Ruins of St. Paul~
3. There is a long, long slope coming out of the Big Cannon Fort, I think this road is quite suitable for walking and taking pictures, very characteristic of Macau!
4. Eat beef offal on Da Tang Lane Beef Offal Street, completely blind bought a shop called Xiang Ji Beef Offal, very delicious! I don't have a heavy taste, so I really like this one, this one is quite clean, the selling aunt is also very enthusiastic, added fish balls 35💰
5. Love Lane, Feng Tang New Street, the small houses in these two places are all colored🌈, the photos are very good, must go!!
6. Rose Virgin Mary Church, because I was wearing a short skirt that day, I didn't go inside, the outside looks like a beautiful Baroque building, take pictures⛪️
7. Dong Wang Yang New Street, National Geographic same style check-in position, experience the collision of luxury and market, seeing it with your own eyes will really feel shocked🇲🇴
8. Fisherman's Wharf, go to see the sunset in the evening when the weather is good, the light and shadow are sprinkled on the ancient Roman Colosseum and marble columns, sitting quietly for a while can soothe the fatigue of a day's walk🍹
There are various good shops to visit and eat along the way, continue writing in the next chapter!

Gorgeous Morning Views of Mount Fortress
Right across from the Ruins of St. Paul is Mount Fortress and the surrounding park area. Like the ruins, it's better to get there early to avoid the crowds. You can easily spend less than an hour talking a walk around the park and taking pictures of this historic fortress. Keep an eye out for the local cats, as a lot of them have made this historical sight their little playground. The ones I ran into were pretty shy, so I spent a few moments smiling at how cute they were and left them alone.
Overall, this was a great visit to start the rest of my day. Check it out if you're a fellow early bird like I am.#travel #macau #macautravel #historicalsights #macao #chinatravel

Grand Lisboa took a group photo, and the view of Fortress Mountain was also good!
In fact, this wonderful building, Grand Lisboa, can be seen in many places in Macau. You don’t need to find exactly the same internet celebrity filming location. After arriving at the Ruins of St. Paul’s, climb up the small hill on the right to the Fortress. The viewing angles are also good.
•
There are toilets and a small shop at the entrance, and there is a Macau Museum on the top platform. Opposite the museum is the city wall surrounded by forts, which are former military lookouts. I remember in Monaco, Salzburg and Mauritius also has a similar Fortress Hill. Anyway, the ancient cities used to have Fortress Hill to watch out and avoid enemy invasion. Now they have become scenic sites or parks.
•
In addition to the Grand Lisboa Hotel, you can also see a little bit of the Macau Tower. It is a bit tiring when climbing, and it is quite comfortable when the wind blows~

There is a large fort in Macau, built in 1616. It is one of the oldest western-style fortification groups in China. It was built to protect the church's priests from pirates. It was built by the church and later by the Portuguese. The government used military defensive positions and successfully resisted the Dutch invasion in 1662. Macau has never had a war on the mainland, so the fort has become the core of the Macau defense system.
In Macau, although it is a tourist city, it is totally unpopular and buzzing in the mainland tourist cities, and there is no avant-garde in the coastal emerging cities. She is quiet most of the time, just like a lady quietly. Sitting on the shore of the sea, not showing off, not swaying, a sea breeze blowing Buddha, soaring her fragrant fragrance to the Quartet.

The Macau Fort is a place with a very historical story. Like the Ruins of St. Paul, the Macau Fort is one of the World Heritage Sites.
The turret is on the mountain, so if you want to arrive, you have to climb a mountain road. It used to be a very important military center of gravity. It was originally designed to protect the St. Paul's Church (St. Paul's Church), so we walked into the door of the fort. We can first see some sculptures of the Catholic Church. The
turret has experienced nearly 400 years of history, and there are many historic and historical buildings on the stage. There are still cannons reserved, and it is worth visiting.

Climb up the Macau Fort, the commanding heights of the city, you will feel the scenery under the eyes at a glance. The vision is unparalleled, and the colorful architecture of Macau is in sight. This is the best place to overlook the panoramic view of Macau
in these old buildings, there will be sex buildings built in the cracks. Not only can you see a lot of landmark Macao buildings, but you can also see the famous Macau Tower in the distance. The most striking of these buildings is the Grand Lisboa Hotel, which is like a feather that spreads around and is one of the 20 most iconic buildings in the world.

The Macau Fortress is part of the oldest surviving Western-style fort building complex in China. It used to be the centre of military defence facilities. It is now part of the historic city of Macau and is a famous tourist attraction. The large artillery platform of Macau is located on the side of the Dabanba archway. The artillery platform was built during the Ming Shenzong period in 1616. It was owned by the church and was built to protect the St. Paul's clerics. It was used to defend against pirates and then turned into a military facility area. There are giant steel guns around the fort. Although the ancient artillery has lost its military role, it has become an ancient cultural relic and historical witness of Macao. The large turret covers an area of about 10,000 square meters. It was originally the memorial platform of the Jesuit Church of St. Paul (the predecessor of the Ruins of St. Paul), which protected the Jesuit industry in Macao and was later converted into a large castle fort by the Australian and Portuguese governments. The construction of the Grand Fortress lasted 10 years and was completed in 1626.

Overlooking the whole of Macau.
🌟 The Macau Fortress, also known as the Monte Fort, is an important historical site in Macau.
🌈 The fort has a large open space, with lush green grass and towering ancient trees. The giant steel cannon has lost its military function, but it has become an ancient relic and a witness to history in Macau. Climb up to the fort and you can overlook the whole of Macau, with a distant view of the Pearl River Estuary and the Gongbei area.
❤ Just as a pigeon 🕊️ is resting on the steel cannon, it is also a good place to choose, peace is the most important thing!

Monte Fort: A witness to history.
Address: Praceta do Museu de Macau, Santo António, Macau. Located on a hillside on the Macau Peninsula, Monte Fort is surrounded by lush greenery. It was a coastal defense system in Macau in the 16th century. After centuries of trials and tribulations, Monte Fort has seen its fair share of glory and destruction. It was once home to the famous St. Paul's College, but a devastating fire destroyed almost all the buildings on the fort. War is cruel. The fort is an irregular quadrilateral, with four corners forming bastions. The walls are about 9 meters high and can accommodate more than 30 cannons, which can resist attacks from all directions. Today, Monte Fort has become a popular tourist destination. There is a large green space in front of it, where you can overlook the panoramic view of Macau.

Spring Outing Route: A Must-Visit to Macau's Monte Fort Garden.
Monte Fort was built in 1617, located on a small hill 52 meters above sea level in the central part of the Macau Peninsula, next to the Ruins of St. Paul's and above the Macau Museum. The fort features a large open space with lush green grass, towering ancient trees, and thriving growth; alongside it, massive steel cannons stand imposingly.
The best part is the panoramic view of the Macau Peninsula, where one can overlook the bustling hotels and entertainment performances, as well as the crowded streets and small shops. Around each embrasure, a giant bronze cannon is displayed. Today, these ancient cannons have long lost their defensive function and have become a historical landscape, also a popular spot for taking photos.

The Monte Fort - A Must-Visit World Heritage Site in Macau
The Monte Fort, commonly referred to by the locals as the 'Big Cannon Fort', was the core of Macau's defensive system, forming a broad network of artillery fire defense covering the east and west coasts. With a history spanning several hundred years, the Monte Fort is a famous tourist attraction in Macau. Visitors who go to the Ruins of St. Paul's must also visit the Monte Fort. The Monte Fort Park consists of a lawn adjacent to the Ruins of St. Paul's, the Fort Garden, walking trails surrounding the Fort Garden, the Fort Corridor, and the Macau Museum.
Apart from the Fort Garden and the Macau Museum, the Fort Park is open 24 hours.
Fort Garden opening hours: 7:00–19:00, free admission.
Below the Fort Garden is the Macau Museum, which was converted from the former site of the Meteorological Station in the 1990s. It displays the developmental history of Macau.
Macau Museum opening hours: 10:00 - 18:00 (last admission at 17:30)
Closed on Mondays.
Admission: Adults - MOP 15. Students with a valid student ID - MOP 8. Free admission on Tuesdays and the 15th of every month.
The Fort Garden offers a broad view where one can closely observe the Ruins of St. Paul's, gaze at the Guia Lighthouse in the distance, the uniquely designed Grand Lisboa Hotel, the Macau Tower, Wanzai Pier in Zhuhai, and the modern high-rises of the Portas do Cerco. After visiting the museum, enjoying the sunset in the scenic Fort Garden is also a delightful experience. The view of the setting sun is exceptionally beautiful and very photogenic. I have taken a few photos to share with fellow travelers.
For those who prefer not to climb stairs or slopes, you can take the elevator to the Fort Garden via the Macau Museum before 6 pm. Alternatively, you can take the lift in the Fort Corridor to the Fort Garden trail.

Macau Day Trip Guide | Prepare in advance for a smooth journey
❗Important Tip: Be sure to prepare a power bank! Be sure to prepare a power bank! Be sure to prepare a power bank!!!
🥰Pre-trip Preparation
1️⃣Fill out the 'Customs Passenger Fingertip Service' health declaration, valid for 24 hours.
2️⃣Activate international roaming.
3️⃣Prepare cash, which can be exchanged for Hong Kong dollars or Macanese pataca at the port. I exchanged 200 pataca for taking the bus (there are also bus staff who can make change for you), no need to exchange if not taking the bus. WeChat and Alipay are accepted at most merchants, it is recommended to use Alipay for automatic currency conversion.
4️⃣Carry your ID card and Hong Kong and Macau pass; only the Hong Kong and Macau pass is needed for crossing the border, while the ID card is needed for currency exchange.
🥰My Mode of Travel
【Self-driving】Depart from Zhuhai Hengqin at 7:30 in the morning, navigate directly to the Hengqin Port parking lot (parking fee is about 50 yuan). The process of entering and exiting Hengqin Port is very smooth. After clearing customs, go up the escalator on the left hand side, and queue at the end to take the shuttle bus.
🚌Shuttle Bus Route: Passes through The Parisian, The Venetian, and The Londoner hotels, with the destination station chosen based on your needs. These three attractions are very close to each other, with multiple shopping malls for leisure and shopping. I chose The Venetian as my main destination. Note: The first shuttle bus starts at 9:30 am, if you need to arrive early, consider taking a taxi (it is recommended to pay in Macanese pataca, as paying in RMB will not get you a favorable exchange rate)
🥰Sightseeing Route: Hengqin ➡️ The Venetian ➡️ Rua do Cunha ➡️ Ruins of St. Paul's ➡️ Monte Fort ➡️ New Yaohan ➡️ Nam Van Lake. Nam Van Lake is a tranquil place, sitting and enjoying the breeze is very pleasant.
🥰Food Recommendations: On Rua do Cunha, there's Lao Day beef offal, Tai Lei Loi Kei pork chop bun, Mok Yi Kei durian ice cream, Cheung Chau glutinous rice dumplings (optional, as they are filling and may reduce the experience of tasting other foods), Ma Jiao Tea Stall, and Secolo cafe. If you need to buy souvenirs, I recommend Koi Kei's egg rolls, they are very delicious!
🥰Return Route: The shuttle bus may not be timely, and you need to return to The Venetian station to wait for it, so it's better to take the 25B bus back (6 Macanese pataca), which is convenient and fast.
Precautions⚠️
You can fully explore all the attractions on the route in one day, with time to spare. Note that phone battery is very important, so please be sure to carry a power bank, as some areas do not have power bank rental services, and friends who take photos should pay attention.

Monte Fort
Monte Fort, also known as Fortaleza do Monte, Central Fort, or Fortaleza de São Paulo, is located beside the Ruins of St. Paul's and is one of the major historical attractions in Macau, China.
Monte Fort was built in 1616 during the reign of Emperor Shenzong of Ming, originally owned by the church to protect the clergy inside St. Paul's Church from pirates, and later converted into a military facility area.
Atop the fort, there is a vast expanse of open space with lush green grass; towering ancient trees thrive; and gigantic steel cannons stand imposingly. There are also many historical relics and architectural structures on the fort, such as the ancient tower, which was one of the sites of the Jesuit society. The Southern European-style bungalow built in the center of the open space serves as the office for the meteorological bureau.

The spot to get the best view of Macau
I highly recommend visiting Parque de Fortaleza do Monte (Fortaleza do Monte Park) in Macau for a fascinating journey through history and scenic beauty. Located atop Monte Hill, this historic park is home to Fortaleza do Monte, a 17th-century fortress built by the Portuguese to defend against naval attacks. Today, the park offers visitors a tranquil escape from the bustling city below, with lush greenery, winding paths, and panoramic views of Macau's skyline. Explore the fortress walls, cannons, and military barracks, and take in the serene atmosphere while learning about Macau's colonial past. Whether you're interested in history, enjoy outdoor strolls, or simply want to admire breathtaking vistas, Parque de Fortaleza do Monte is a must-visit destination in Macau.

Walking in Macau for 9 hours, I'll tell you all the pitfalls and thunder points
【First Chatter】
I went to Macau for a day, and many friends asked me about my feelings: The most impressive feeling that day was the crowding and loneliness.
The crowding is a description of the city, feeling that there are 10 people standing in one square meter; loneliness is because there are multiple languages being spoken around you, but none of them you understand, in Macau I felt like I was alone.
【On the Road: Customs Return】
🛻 Customs & Return
Enter from Zhuhai Gongbei Port (6 am-1 am), follow the instructions all the way, now you don't need to declare your health status, report separately if there are exceptions. The whole process is to swipe the pass, fingerprint, exit the customs and get the voucher, fingerprint, fast customs clearance.
❗️Lesson from the past: If you have Hong Kong and Macau endorsement information, you can handle the new endorsement by yourself at the endorsement machine, it takes 1 minute. If you have never had any Hong Kong and Macau endorsements (a white card), you must follow the time for handling a new card.
❗️Return: Gongbei Port is called Guanzha in Macau, don't search for the wrong destination when you search.
❗️Shopping, generally you will not be stopped when you return unless you have a lot of things.
【On the Road-Macau Crazy Walk for 9 Hours】
Gongbei Exit-(Take the New Lisboa Fortune Car)-New Lisboa-(Walk)-Legislative Council-(Walk)-Ruins of St. Paul-(Walk)-Fort/Macau Museum-(Walk)-Crazy Church Slope-(Walk)-Dongwangyang New Street-(Walk)-Old Lisboa-(Bus 6 Yuan)-Londoner-(Walk)-Venetian-(Bus/Taxi/Fortune Car)-Old Lisboa-(Bus/Taxi/Fortune Car)-Guanzha
10:00-19:00, 9 hours, the output limit
If it weren't for the Venetian who kept walking and felt there was no end, I should be able to visit more places
【Food & Souvenirs】
Macau is expensive, so I didn't eat anything particularly good, but there are some small shops I recommend to everyone (I've eaten)
1⃣️ Jinmei Food
2⃣️ Jinli Food Shop
3⃣️ Paramount
4⃣️ Xingxiangyuan
Souvenirs, the most common and most chosen is "Juji Souvenir", and I chose to buy "Andrew Egg Tart" for egg tarts.
【Extra Attention】
1, Expenses: Most shops can Alipay & WeChat, real-time exchange rate, cash can be exchanged for 1000 Macau dollars, Hong Kong dollars can also be, but the exchange rate is different.
2, SIM card: You can buy it at customs or in advance, turn on the phone after customs, and you can receive the Macau signal.
3, Macau taxi: Taxi stand queue or hail (but I didn't see anyone hailing, almost all were queuing) or Macau call app, taxi is a bit expensive, traffic is not easy to move, often over a hundred, and only cash is accepted.
4, Bus: All 6 yuan, prepare the money in advance, no change

You should always visit Macau at least once
You should always visit Macau at least once
When traveling in Macau, you don't need to take a bus/taxi, the best way is to walk! Walk and watch, feel the classic history and romantic feelings there!
Macau reveals European shadows everywhere, but it also has a unique Chinese style. Just looking at the style of Macau, it's worth flying over to feel it.

400-year-old Macau Fortress
Ascending along the east side of Senado Square, you will reach the Macau Fortress. Built in the 17th century to prevent Dutch naval harassment.
The emblem on the gun barrel is said to represent Bailey Pegg, a British cannon foundry. But at that time, Macau had a famous cannon foundry called Bocca Tigris. Why use British ones? Looking at the "1860" engraved on the barrel, if it is the year, it may have been purchased from Britain as a replacement in the 19th century. It is said that the Bocca Tigris foundry weakened and closed shortly after Bocca Tigris died.
Didn't go into the museum on the fortress, maybe the answer is inside❓

Along the small road next to the St. Paul's archway, you can reach a place called Fortress Hill. Macao people are used to calling it a large fort. It is a world cultural heritage alongside the old buildings such as the Ruins of St. Paul's.
Fortress Hill was originally called St. Paul's Fort, originally owned by the church, mainly used to prevent pirates, protect the priests in St. Paul's Church, and later evolved into a military zone. There are many cannons on the Fortress Hill, and they have made important contributions in protecting Macao from foreign enemies.
The wall of the Fortress Hill that is now seen is already very mottled, with a sense of vicissitudes of history.
Walking from the foothills along the stone steps, you will pass through a small gate and then enter a place similar to a stone castle, which is actually a repository of Fortress Hill, which is said to be enough for two years.
There are a lot of tourists to the Ruins of St. Paul's, but there are not many people on the Fortress Hill. Compared to the ground, the scenery seen here is even more magnificent.
You can see the whole picture of the old city of Macau from various angles on the Fortress Hill. You can also see some of Zhuhai's scenery. There are a number of muzzles on the wall of Fortress Hill. There are several cannons arranged. These cannons are not military equipment, but are presented as historical relics. They are now the darlings of tourists. There is also a square garden on the top of the Fortress Hill. Next to the square is the Macao Museum, where you can learn about the history of Macao.
