One of the most iconic landmarks that you should not miss in Lucerne is the Musegg Wall built in the 14th century. It is about 15 minutes walk from Lucerne train station. As the wall is located on a hill so be prepared to climb stairs and slopes. There are 9 watchtowers along the 870-m long city wall, 4 of which are open to public (free admission) during non-winter months.
We were not able to walk on the city wall as we visited during winter so we explored the area inside the city wall. A local that we met suggested that we walked along the outer wall to have a great view of the city. We were indeed greeted with panoramic views of Lucerne city with a backdrop of Lake Lucerne and Swiss Alps as we explored the area outside the wall. Make sure to climb the watch towers if you visit during summer as I'm sure the views from the watch towers will be even more spectacular!

Lucerne is the origin of Switzerland. It was built more than 1,000 years ago. In 1332, Lucerne formed an alliance with Uri, Schwyz and Lower Walden around the lake, becoming the first four states of the Swiss Confederation. For a long time, it was the administrative center of Switzerland.
The Musse City Wall is a great place for Lucerne to ascend to the top. It is also one of the best preserved and longest defensive walls in Switzerland, built in 1386.
The city wall is built on a hillside. The length is not long. There are several watch towers and bell towers on the wall to climb. Among them, the height of the Zyt clock tower is the most there is also Lucernes oldest time clock, overlooking Lucerne after the dome, and the ancient city and the distant lakes and mountains are all in sight.

Personally, the best location to enjoy the scenery of Lake Lucerne is the Museg City Wall, especially for photographers, the beautiful Lake Lucerne, the beautiful city of Lucerne, the beautiful snow-capped mountains, the beautiful swan, the feeling It is like a landscape painting that is perfect enough to be described in words.
Slowly along the opposite direction of Lake Lucerne, the altitude is getting higher and the scenery is getting better. Climbing up the walls of Museg, the scenery is so amazing that you can't speak, and you want to come to heaven! The difficulty factor of
walking is not big enough for everyone, so don't miss it if time permits. The
Musseg wall is one of the best preserved and longest defensive walls in Switzerland. The city wall is more than 900 meters away, and there are 9 different watch towers on the city wall. Standing on a high point overlooking the whole of Lucerne, the landscape is completely different from standing on the lake. It is recommended not to miss it.
Some watch towers can climb up, the scenery will be better, but because the stairs or steps are extremely steep, you must pay attention to safety.
There is a very beautiful green under the wall. Many locals like to lie on the green grass and lie in the sun. It feels very enjoyable.

Climb up the walls of Musseg, overlooking the whole of Lucerne, overlooking the lake and the distant mountains. The distant mountains, the quiet lake, the green trees, the steeple of the church... suddenly sounded together, and it lasted for a long time.
This wall is interesting like a Roman period building. One of the towers is a bell tower. If you go to the whole clock, you can see that the structure of the mechanical clock is unobstructed.
