I came to the real underground city at -135 meters underground.
-135 meters, if calculated according to the standard height of one floor of 2.8 meters, I probably came to the position of nearly 50 floors underground. What shocked me was that there was a small square here, and there might be a real underground city here.
The Wieliczka Salt Mine in Krakow, Poland, has been open to tourists for hundreds of years. Chopin and Copernicus have been here. The deepest mining area is more than 300 meters underground, but it is not open to the public. There are rooms, chapels, underground lakes, etc. in the mining area. Some carvings were even born in the Middle Ages. The largest square was built by three miners for a full 67 years. The chapel also has a salt carving mural "The Last Supper".
There are two ways to visit the salt mine. One is ordinary sightseeing, which requires a guided tour. The salt mine entrance is grouped according to language. There are English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, etc., but no Chinese. I followed the English team. At the door, about 20 people will be led by the tour guide. To go to the salt mine, you need to walk up the stairs, that is, go down about forty or fifty floors all the way. There is an elevator when you leave, but of course, walking down is also a very wonderful experience. You will gradually feel the temperature getting colder.
The other is to make an appointment to participate in the miner experience route. The appointment location and ordinary sightseeing are at the same ticket office. Just explain when buying the ticket. The entrance is in another direction. It takes about 10 minutes to walk out from the ordinary sightseeing entrance. The miner experience route needs to wear standard miner clothes and cannot bring large personal items.

Krakow, the old capital of Poland.
As the second largest city and former capital of Poland:
1. The city has very convenient public transportation. Trams and motor vehicles are completely separated, with trams running every few minutes, quickly and punctually.
2. The city is very safe, and you don't have to worry about security issues like you would in Italy or Spain.
3. The famous Wieliczka Salt Mine is located a dozen kilometers from the city and attracts 5 million tourists every year. The mine is 327 meters deep and 287 kilometers long, with nine layers. It was mined from the 13th century until 1996, a total of 700 years. The mine has rooms, churches, banquet halls, and underground lakes, like an underground city. Due to the complex terrain, visitors must be led by a guide and can only visit the three layers at depths of 64 meters, 90 meters, and 130 meters. The attraction offers explanations in seven languages. There are many people in line for English and Italian explanations, but unfortunately there are no Chinese explanations.
4. The most famous attraction is Krakow Central Square, which escaped the war and has completely preserved its medieval style.
5. The entire city is full of churches, each with its own characteristics. There are more than 20 churches in the city center, and Krakow has more than 300 churches in total. The locals are very devout.
6. Jagiellonian University, one of the oldest in the world, is located here. Copernicus and Madame Curie both studied here. The university has very beautiful buildings, especially the university's own church, which is worth visiting.
7. The Auschwitz concentration camp in the suburbs and Schindler's factory in the former Jewish quarter of the city have now been converted into museums and are highly recommended.

Autumn in Poland, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance.
People say, "Poland is the East of the West, the West of the East, the North of Eastern Europe, and the South of Northern Europe." Poland has had a tumultuous history, having been destroyed and rebuilt three times, but it still has a wealth of tourist resources. Poland is located at the intersection of Eastern and Western Europe. The Polish people are Slavs, but they believe in Catholicism. The unique geographical location and cultural heritage give Polish cities their own unique style.
🛬Historic European city of Warsaw
Warsaw is the largest city in Poland and a historic European city. The famous Warsaw Convention was signed here. Warsaw has witnessed everything Poland has experienced: during World War II, Warsaw was devastated and the population plummeted, almost completely destroyed. After the war, the Poles built a Warsaw Old Town on the ruins that was exactly the same as before the war. Walking on the streets of Warsaw today, it is hard to imagine that this place was almost razed to the ground seventy years ago.
⛺The ancient city of Krakow
The beautiful city of Krakow in Poland is a model of the capital of medieval Europe. The old city here has not been damaged by war and has completely preserved the style of the old city. Take a carriage tour of Krakow, accompanied by the crisp sound of horseshoes stepping on the slate road, walking through Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings, there is a kind of romance of time going backwards.

Wieliczka and Bochnia Royal Salt Mines (Wieliczka and Bochnia Salt Mine)
Wieliczka and Bochnia Royal Salt Mines (Wieliczka and Bochnia Salt Mine)
Wieliczka is a national treasure of Poland with historical, cultural, and religious significance. It is also an important cultural heritage site of UNESCO. The mine was developed in the 13th century and has nine layers, with a depth of 325 meters and a passage length of 250 kilometers. According to legend, the Hungarian Princess Kinga, who married the Grand Duke of Krakow, threw a gold ring to trigger the mining of salt (Figure 3); Emperor Casimir's loan policy for mining led to rapid development (Figure 4); the salt sculptures in the hall of the mine (The Last Supper), Pope John Paul II, etc. are lifelike (Figures 5-7); the underground salt lake is like a sky lake (Figure 8); Copernicus was the first batch of visitors to the salt mine (Figure 9).

The old capital of Poland, carriage tours, return to the medieval city of Krakow
Krakow is the largest industrial city in southern Poland, located upstream of the Vistula River. It has been the capital of Poland for 300 years in history. The old city has many palaces, castles and churches. After being occupied by the German army during World War II, the Jews in the city were sent to Auschwitz, and all the teachers of Jagiellonian University were killed. The city area served as the base for the Nazi invasion of Poland, so the entire city area is well preserved, unlike WARSAW and WROCLAW which were heavily bombed.
Krakow's central square is said to be the largest medieval square in Europe. After seeing a lot of churches and castles, there is visual aesthetic fatigue. ZOFIA taught me to recognize churches of different religions. The style of Catholic churches is gorgeous and majestic, mostly Gothic or Baroque, with statues of the Virgin inside. The top of the Orthodox Church looks like an onion head, and the Protestant church is relatively simple and simple.
We rented a carriage for 200PLN. When we were tired, we sat on the beautiful carriage and moved slowly. The sound of horse hooves, coupled with the old buildings of the old city, felt like time was flowing backwards.
On the way back to GLIWICE, I visited ZOFIA's parents' house. The old man was 70 years old, very kind, and was doing farm work in the backyard. There was about an acre of land behind the house, planted with various vegetables and fruit trees, similar to China's, cucumbers, broad beans, eggplants, sunflowers, rice beans, tomatoes. As I visited his farm, he kept picking things for me to eat, grapes, plums, raspberries, strawberries. He didn't speak a word of English, but he wanted to say something to me. He spoke for a long time and I didn't understand a word. ZOFIA suggested taking a photo together. The old man immediately took off his dirty coat, clenched his fists, and punched twice with a ha, ha. ZOFIA translated that his father said I looked like JACKY CHAN. I said you all look at all Chinese people the same, just like many Chinese people look at Europeans the same. He also said it's a pity that I came too short this time, otherwise I could have a barbecue in his backyard. I said I wish you a long and healthy life, I will definitely come again in the future.
