Seoul Citywalk | A must-visit comic street in Myeongdong
I used to know that Myeongdong in Seoul is a must-visit shopping paradise when you come to Korea🛍
Who knew there was also a super cute comic street hidden
The houses on the whole street are painted with colorful comic patterns
Cute things can be seen everywhere, it's too suitable for taking pictures📸
The key point is‼
There are far fewer tourists than the main street across the road
The degree of commercialization is relatively light, more like a cultural and creative space
You can also feel the charm of the old and new blend in the Korean residential area
The buildings are staggered in height, and it is easy to take a picture of Namsan Seoul Tower in the same frame
No need to go there specially, but don't miss it when you go to Myeongdong⚠
🚇: Exit 3 of Myeongdong Subway Station, turn left, walk up the slope after seeing 711

Seoul far so good!
#seoultrip
It is really comfort to me for booking the hotel via Trip accordance with the confirmation request. This trip has some challenges with hotel staff who may not prefer to service.
Anyhow the trip it is not for private agenda that make me not feeling much effect.
The place that I stayed it’s so close to subway and Korean street food market, it was so huge and super variety of food but the taste depends on your luck when you choose the shop 😂😂😂. #foodie
PS. Rain and weather during this season may not be convenient for me and other to do side seeing and relaxing in it but it was enough for me this time.
Remark: Hotel with it facilities that would be considered, not only the location!

Here we go!
A walk around Seoul's shopping district
Myeongdong is back; your one stop shop for Korean goodies and a tourists paradise. During COVID it was very empty but nowadays it's back and running with most shops reopened.
If you need to get souvenirs from Korea, head here. Clothing, cosmetics and snacks are the most popular! Also head here for great currency exchange rates where cash is useful for topping up your transport card and paying for things at traditional markets.
Also, you'll be in luck for a feast of different restaurants and street food snacks. They're less Korean but still fun to try out if you're there! A definite must visit if you're in Seoul!

#seoultrip
Myeong Dong is the toruisty hub of Seoul, at day it's full of shoppers, coffee shops and handcrafts.
By night it's bustling with street food, lit up by neon billboards and it has a great buzz.
Myeong Dong is where we booked our hotel and we were thankful we did. It's central to the city and made walking to the different attractions very easy.
At night when we were looking for restaurants, we had so many options at the foot of the hotel too.
The cathedral is at one end and Seoul Station the other, making it a great place to start your day if city touring.
If reccomend heading to the district at night unless you are looking to go shopping 🛍️

Hidden fancy cocktail place- Cobbler
This is hidden fancy cocktail place in Myeong Dong, we read the reviews and it says that is not easy to find this place because it’s hidden. I get what it means when I was looking for this place.
This cocktail place is hidden in Level 4 with no sigh board, when we first arrived this place, we thought we entered the wrong place because the whole floor is so dark! Until we heard a faint cocktail shaking sound behind the wall, so we started to look for the place and quite certain that this is the right place.
The design of this bar is so nice and unique, we really love the ambiance and service. They offer many interesting cocktails which looks really pretty! However, we think the alcohol content are too little for us, no “kick”, we feel more like drinking a nice juice or flavour drink.
But gotta say that this is a really nice place to chill, they serve sweet potatoes chips for the snacks and also chocolate. It’s free flow as well. Not sure if I would recommend this place, up for you to decide 😉

Cheap food in Myeong Dong
We discovered this cheap place in Myeong Dong, can you believe this meal is only less than SGD 20?? We ordered a bowl of bibimbab and fish cake with tepokki, it taste so authentic and my husband love it! He said this is one of his too 3 food in Korea!
The bibimbab looks simple, but it taste fantastic! It come with a free seaweed soup and free flow kimchi and radish. The tepokki is very nice too, it’s so soft and chewy, not too sweet and not too spicy, just nice! Initially we were afraid that this place will be crowded, but surprisingly this place is full of locals, not so busy when we came.
I will say must come here and get when you’re in this area.

Themed cafe - Urban Plant
This cafe is located in Myeongdong. The decor are fake plants with a great place for taking pictures. They have six different rooms for you to go explore. The last room you can take selfies and it will print out the picture for you at no cost. Tables and benches are a combination of regular and made from pallets.
This cafe serves your typical coffee beverages and have a selection of pretzels to choose from. #foodie #cafe #korea #myeongdong #seoul #seoulcafe #seoultravel #themecafes #Pretzel #Pretzelbread #coffee #coffeeshop #dateideas

CATS SQUISHING IN CAT PLAYGROUND CAFE MYEONGDONG
If you are a cat lover, please, please do visit this awesome cat cafe, Cat Playground in Myeongdong.
I couldnt tag the location it wasnt there. But the cat signages were around, you wont be missing it.
It was on the second floor and quite a number of people were already lining up in front of the cat cafe.
Waiting took 15 mins or so and woohoo once we were inside we saw adorable cats around.
Most of them were curling up and sleeping comfortably in their cosy pods. Few were wandering around.
It was really fun watching these furry animals. They knew they are the cutest creature ever and will annoy you by just walking away everytime you tried calling them.
So the trick is, get the catstick food and they will surely come and jump on you.

Christmas Light Viewing Around Myeongdong
#2023travelwish
Seasons Greetings and Lights Up, the Christmas season has arrived and many malls and shops has lit up the lights with different decorations. In Myeongdong, several malls such as Shinsegae and Lotte Mall has decorated their malls with diferent lights and ornaments. Visitors locals and foreign alike flocked in and celebrate this festival with joy and rejoice feelings. The trail is around 2km and typically visitors will start from Cheonggyechon to Myeongdong, then to the City Hall.
My wish for year 2023 is to visit Orchard Road in Singapore to view the 2.5km stretch of Christmas lights decorations.

🇰🇷 Myeongdong history
I will definitely rate Myeongdong as the top tourist district in Seoul. Everyone will be here and there is a lot of crowd here. You can get all your kpop and Korean fever here too. It used to be bustling before the pandemic. When I revisited in September, it was still crowded but without the Chinese tourists. Even when shopping in Myeongdong, speaking in mandarin is totally ok too. The street food carts are still around and you can get cheaper hotel rates now, compared to before. You can also get super competitive money exchange rates here too. Outside this subway exit 7, I chanced upon the history and cultural display. It was very beneficial for me because I have never understood Myeongdong in this way.

My favourite place in Seoul
#celebratewithtrip
Myeongdong is the hot spot of Seoul for tourists. It is a vibrant area of Seoul which is filled with hotels, skin care shops, restaurants and cafes. It my favourite area to stay and use as a base to discover the rest of Seoul. In the late afternoon, the food stalls start to open and just perfect for an late afternoon snack.
NOTE: Since it reopen to tourist after the covid Myeongdong Night Market is not what it used to be anymore. There are way less vendors and visitors. It’s still nice to walk around but doesn’t have the same vibe as back in 2018
The outdoor street market starts at 4 pm on Monday to Friday, during the weekend and on Korean holidays the market starts around 2 pm .Usually the street food market finishes around 11 pm, but this again depends on the vendors. Some might close earlier or later.
Well I do hope it will be back like before , but till it do worth a visit

The two main streets meet in the center of the block with one beginning from Myeong-dong Subway Station (Seoul Subway Line No. 4) and the other from Lotte Department Store at Euljiro. Many brand name shops and department stores line the streets and alleys. If you're interested in K-pop, here's the ultimate spot where you can find all kinds of K-pop related goods.

Historical Cathedral in Seoul
#fallingforfall
Located in a central part of Seoul, Myeong-dong Cathedral is a major tourist attraction. The construction of this cathedral, which draws attention with its architecture, was completed in 1898.
In this place, where tourist guidance is offered in English, you can come and learn its history in detail and look the architecture in detail.
Getting here is very easy, just 5 minutes from the subway station, just off the famous myeong-dong street. So after visiting the cathedral, the area to eat is quite a lot. You can also eat the famous Korean street food in this region.

Dookki lunch buffet
#fallingforfall
What to eat in Korea on cold autumn weather? Dookki - all you can eat Toppoki buffet (90 minutes)
Dookki is a value for money Toppoki buffet chain store, with a few different rice cakes, fish cakes skewers, some fried items and more. Dookki means 2 meals in Korean (first meal = Toppoki; 2nd meal = fried rice)
We tried the Dookki outlet at Myeongdong which is on the second floor. It's quite a big but busy & noisy outlet with just a few seats available. We went to fill up our bowl and plate at the self-serve counter with various food and drinks. After finishing the meal, we proceed to get some rice and other ingredients to make our own fried rice. There's also ice cream available.
All in all, it's just 9900 won for the buffet. Great value for money meal.

Monet Inside at Lotte Avenuel
I’ve loved Monet’s art pieces for a long while. It’s only natural that I immediately put it on my schedule when I read that there’s an immersive exhibition of the famous impressionist during my stay at Seoul.
This exhibition is at Ground Seesaw, 9F Lotte Avenuel Tower, Myeongdong, Seoul. You would enter a big room with two zones covered by screen walls, with projection of the the content onto the screens. The entire session consists of a 35-minute long video with narration of his life and works at different stages, followed by a 15-minute highlight video where you can feel free to take pictures.
I didn’t take pictures with the artworks displayed but I enjoyed it and also bought some souvenirs back home with me!
