A quick 2-day, 1-night trip to Yangyang! We booked our hotel on the same day, so gogo! The weather was nice, so we took a walk, starting with Naksansa Temple and strolling along the beach. ❤️ Nakseon Beach was so quiet and wonderful. The kids played in the sand and even had a swing there, haha. Healing while listening to the sound of the water 🌊 For dinner, we went to the market and had the famous Gamjaongsim (potato ongshim) and Abai Sundae (sundae). It was delicious!! The hotel we booked on the spur of the moment had great heating, so it was nice to be warm(?) We had a good night's sleep. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ For breakfast, we had Chodang Sundubu (soft tofu stew) in Sokcho. ☺️ We stopped by Sokcho Market, had some hotteok (sweet pancakes), and bought some sweet and sour chicken to take home. 🏠 Even a quick, unplanned trip is fun. ❤️❤️

A popular beach during the summer, this 4-kilometer stretch of white sand is located in the eastern part of South Korea, in Gangwon Province (Gangwon-do, 강원도), between the two cities of Sokcho and Yangyang. The five-hour train journey from Busan to Gangneung on the ITX began. As soon as I got off at Gangneung Station, I visited Haedong Makguksu nearby. I just searched the map around the area and went there because the reviews were good. The broth tasted like buckwheat noodles, and it was delicious even though it was my first time eating it. (Exceeded my expectations) Then, I went to Bohemian Coffee, which I really wanted to go to, and had a drip coffee. If you order iced coffee, they give you a separate cup of ice, but the warm coffee had such a great aroma and taste that I ended up not using the ice. Since the business hours were short, I had to leave right away, so I couldn't drink two cups, so I bought several drip bags. (I'm saving them for home.) After that, I drove without thinking much and got off at Jumunjin Beach for a while and walked. I didn't know it was a filming location for Goblin, but I found out when I saw the sign. There were still quite a few tourists who came to take pictures. I couldn't help but take a picture and head to Yangyang. I finished the day by eating raw fish at Yangyang Beach and looking at the night sea. The next day is the day I was looking forward to going to Naksansa Temple. For breakfast, I had a hearty breakfast at a buckwheat village called Pungja Ttogangjip and set off. (It was delicious.) Naksansa Temple... I had high expectations, but it was even better than I expected. The weather also played a part. You can feel the blue of the sea and the green of the mountains together. Even if you are not a religious person, each temple building is unique and cool, and the location and background of the buildings are just like a picture. The temple is so big that it took me more than 2 hours to walk around and come out. The photo of the statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva in the sea is still my lock screen. It feels like my worries are being washed away. Oh, and I saw an eagle owl. I was lucky. For dinner, I had chicken and beer near Yangyang Market and took a walk along Namdaecheon Stream. I thought it was a quiet and nice city to live in. For those who like to walk, I recommend a cool night walk along Namdaecheon Stream. My plan was only to have Bohemian coffee and Naksansa Temple, but since it is a nice city just for driving, I think that not planning is the best for leisurely enjoying a 1-night and 2-day trip. The water is clean, but sometimes you can find a trash bottle in the water and a decent amount of plastic trash in the sand. Good to walk. There're many places to eat and hotels to stay. There is Naksan temple, too. Nice place to visit, but very high waves. Less crowded than Busan. Swimming is not allowed in many places for safety reasons.
