Okinawa Naha City Travel Proposal: Enjoy the azure sea and sky while strolling through streets steeped in history
Speaking of Naha, what I want to share most is the city's multifaceted charm: urban architecture coexists with natural seascapes, historical sites blend with modern life, and you can enjoy a comprehensive tourism experience of eating, shopping, playing, and sightseeing all in one place. This time, I've specially planned a "culture + beach + historical sites" route in the city, combined with convenient transportation and a wide selection of practical hotels, ensuring a seamless journey. Tested and proven, the stone monuments and Okinawan architecture under a clear sky are absolutely stunning for photos. This land can always provide you with a relaxing and healing vacation!
📍Naha Must-Visit Attractions Recommendation
1. Naminoue Beach (波の上ビーチ)
At this city beach, the turquoise waters and soft sand instantly transport you to a summery mood. Whether you're taking a walk, playing in the water, or simply relaxing, it's perfect. If your timing aligns with the season (please note summer opening hours: April 1st - June 30th, 09:00-18:00; July 1st - August 31st, 09:00-19:00; September 1st - October 31st, 09:00-18:00), it's recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds and capture stunning sea and sky views. The beach area is clean, and the seaside monument against the backdrop of city buildings makes for a perfect photo opportunity!

3. Shuri Castle Park/Shuri Castle Rain or shine, Shuri Castle is like a grand stage showcasing Okinawa's history. The architectural details, the castle gate monuments, and the panoramic views of the city are all well worth a visit. Shuri Castle and the park are connected, so it's recommended to combine both attractions. The park has ample space for relaxation and is suitable for families and friends. 4. Kokusai Street + Naha City Hotel
A must-visit shopping street, Kokusai Street is packed with various restaurants, drugstores, specialty shops, and convenience stores. Staying at the Naha City Hotel - Kokusai Street offers an excellent location (1 Chome-4-5 Matsuo), just a one-minute walk from shopping, and a 7-Eleven downstairs. Self-check-in is very convenient, and there's a free self-service beverage/beer/ice bar in the lobby on the 10th floor. Coin-operated washing machines are also available for travelers. The hotel offers good value for money; the rooms are small but clean and tidy, with complete toiletries, making it ideal for first-time visitors to Naha who want to explore all the major attractions, saving travel time. The staff are friendly and helpful in resolving operational issues or unexpected situations.
Useful Tips
- It's recommended to visit Shuri Castle Park in the morning (better lighting, fewer tourists), then return to the city center for lunch.
- The beach at Naminoue has changing rooms and showers, so you don't have to worry about looking disheveled after your visit.
- The drugstores on Kokusai Street open late, but some restaurants may have queues, so it's recommended to plan ahead.
- The hotel's self-check-in and laundry facilities are time-saving and convenient, making it especially suitable for multi-day trips.
- Sunny weather makes for great city and sea views, so remember to bring sunscreen!
Transportation Guide: Naha Airport is very conveniently located to the city center; a taxi or monorail ride takes less than 20 minutes. Connecting various attractions is easy by bus, monorail, or on foot. Shuri Castle is just a short walk from Shuri Station on the monorail.
Food Recommendations: Kokusai Street is lined with countless Okinawan snack shops (such as Okinawan ramen, donuts, and ice cream). There are also convenience stores and local restaurants near the hotel. We recommend trying Okinawan sweet potato desserts and local seafood rice bowls.
