Nanluoguxiang Walking Street
#BeijingTravel #100TravelWays
⛩️Today we will take you to #BeijingTravel to the most popular walking street in Beijing. This place is called
English “Nanluoguxiang Walking Street”
Chinese “南锣鼓巷 (pronounced Nanluoguxiang)”
Thai “Nanluoguxiang Ancient Street”
⛩️This is another tourist attraction in Beijing that we like very much. We go there very often because it is full of delicious and cute things. It is a very charming ancient walking street. Along both sides of the street are shops and restaurants.
⛩️The atmosphere of the street is unique, shady, and the buildings are in an ancient Chinese style. There is a lot of food, such as durian pizza, Peking duck, both for eating in the shop and Peking duck rolls that you can carry and eat while walking. Chinese fried squid, stinky tofu, bubble tea, steamed buns, Chinese tea, clothes, accessories, souvenirs
🚝Very convenient to travel, Nanluoguxiang MRT station, exit E

8 Must-Visit Hutongs in Beijing During Autumn | City walk check-in
| City walk check-in. The longest hutong in Beijing, which retains many European-style buildings. The fusion of Chinese and European architecture makes it known as the most fashionable hutong in Beijing.
2 Beiluoguxiang
Beiluoguxiang is different from the bustling Nanluoguxiang; it is quiet yet filled with the atmosphere of daily life, beautiful from spring to winter.
Wudaoying Hutong
One of the most artistic hutongs in Beijing, with a literary atmosphere and the local life of old Beijing, ordinary yet with a fresh vibe.
Guozijian Street
It has both the Confucius and Wen Temples, as well as trendy new stores. The sunlight filtering through the branches onto the long red walls creates a mottled effect that carries the vicissitudes of time.
Shijia Hutong
A historical corridor spanning 700 years, behind each house number is a legendary history. This hutong is known as: one hutong, half of China, having housed countless social elites and celebrities.
⑥ Yangmeizhu Xiejie
A treasure hutong with an authentic old Beijing atmosphere, without an overly commercialized vibe. Occasionally, you might stumble upon some hidden gem stores, perfect for leisurely exploration.
Baitasi Dongjiadao Hutong
The most beautiful elements of Beijing's autumn are here: blue sky, red walls, white pagodas, and pigeons flying by from time to time. Worth a visit.
8 Xizongbu Hutong
On one side is the local life, on the other is the world's prosperity. The popular hutong for taking photos of the CBD trio is right here.

Beijing Hutongs
Step into the ancient heart of Beijing and discover the fascinating world of Hutongs. These traditional narrow alleys lined with courtyard houses offer a glimpse into the city's rich history and unique culture. Exploring Beijing's Hutongs is like taking a journey back in time, where you can immerse yourself in the traditional way of life and experience the charm of old Beijing.
Hutongs have a history that dates back centuries, originating during the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). They were initially built to accommodate the growing population and were designed in a grid-like pattern. Over time, Hutongs became the heart of Beijing's social and cultural life, bustling with markets, shops, and communal activities.
Some of the popular Hutongs in Beijing that are worth exploring include:
Nanluoguxiang: Located in the Dongcheng District, this Hutong is one of the most famous and vibrant in Beijing. Its lively atmosphere is filled with trendy shops, cafes, and traditional Chinese architecture. Take a leisurely stroll, browse through unique boutiques, and savor local street food.
Yandaixiejie: Situated near Houhai Lake, this Hutong is known for its picturesque setting and traditional architecture. It's a great place to find antique shops, tea houses, and art galleries. Enjoy a cup of tea, admire the beautiful scenery, and soak in the cultural ambiance.
Guozijian Street: Located near the Confucius Temple, this Hutong is steeped in history and is home to the Beijing Imperial Academy. Explore the ancient buildings, visit the temple, and learn about China's educational traditions.
Baochao Hutong: Nestled in the Xicheng District, this Hutong offers a quieter and more residential atmosphere. It's a great place to experience local life, visit traditional courtyard homes, and enjoy authentic Beijing cuisine at local eateries.
Liulichang Cultural Street: While not a typical Hutong, this street is known for its cultural significance and historic charm. It's a hub for calligraphy, painting, and antique shops. Explore the traditional Chinese arts and crafts, and perhaps find a unique souvenir to take home.

South Luogu Lane keeps pace with the times. Explore former celebrity residences and museums, as well as long-established Beijing-style shops, before treating yourself to a Beijing specialty dish, a cross-talk show in a small theater, or a drink with friends in a leisure bar.

The most successful time to follow the trend in Beijing! !Beijing! .
In Beijing, this is the most successful time to follow the trend! !Beijing! ! Who doesn’t know about this retro hotel yet?
It’s really great to live in! !
✅Dual subway stations
✅Retro Republic of China style
✅Walk Qianmen Street
At this moment, my favorability towards Beijing hotels is up!
✅The location is very good, in the heart of Beijing. Next to it is the Bada Hutong, and it is only three to four hundred meters away from Qianmen Street. You can walk there and there are subway stations on both sides. Nanluoguxiang can be reached in four or five stops.
✅A mansion full of classical charm. The appearance is low-key and not ostentatious at all. The antique door is carved with a majestic persimmon. When you open the door, you are shocked by the retro decoration, as if you have traveled back in time. Every staff member will provide enthusiastic service and explain the history of the hotel.
The room is also in a unified Republican retro style. There are fresh perfume lilies on the table every day, Hermès toiletries, and wooden combs.

👍 Must-try food in Nanluoguxiang, Beijing!|||I went to Beijing with my friends and we agreed to eat roast duck.🦆
After some research, we finally chose Jingmo Beijing Restaurant.
We not only visited the culturally rich Nanluoguxiang, but also tasted authentic Beijing cuisine. It was a win-win.
Jasmine Roast Duck💥
The restaurant's signature dish, order it as soon as you enter the restaurant.
The jujube wood roasted duck is crispy and not greasy, with a golden red color that makes your mouth water.
The duck pancakes are kept warm on a jasmine tea bowl, and are served with cucumber shreds and various side dishes.
Crispy, fragrant, moist, and tender, with layers of flavor, and the jasmine fragrance cuts through the grease.
Beileye Roast Meat🥩
Made with Angus beef, the meat is full and juicy.
The meat juice is tightly locked in, and the large slices of beef are extremely fragrant and tender.
When you bite into it, the juice seeps out and flows into your mouth, bursting with flavor.
🐟 Sweet and Sour Crispy Fish
The fried fish has a crispy skin, and is topped with sweet and sour sauce.
The taste is sweet and sour, and the fish inside is soft and firm.
Very fresh, it really hit the spot.
🪵 The restaurant's original wood style decor is simple yet sophisticated.👍
The waiters are very enthusiastic and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.
Restaurant: Jingmo Beijing Restaurant - Jasmine Roast Duck (Nanluoguxiang First Store)
Address: 50 meters east of the north gate of Nanluoguxiang (No. 98 Gulou East Street)

Encountering Warm Memories in Beijing's Autumn
Amidst the busy business trip, take a moment for yourself to wander through Beijing's old hutongs. You'll discover the city's unique tenderness and stories. As the cool autumn breeze blows, the ancient city walls seem to whisper, telling those long-forgotten histories.
Beijing Hutongs: Finding the Heartbeat of the City
Beijing's hutongs are like the veins of the city, carrying countless stories and emotions. The familiar and comforting scents of douzhi and zhajiangmian waft through the grey bricks and tiles. You can choose any hutong, such as Nanluoguxiang or Yandai Xiejie, and take a leisurely stroll, appreciating the beauty forgotten by modern life.
The Forbidden City: Gazing at History
A trip to Beijing wouldn't be complete without visiting the Forbidden City. The weathered walls have witnessed the rise and fall of many dynasties. In autumn, the sunlight on the golden glazed tiles is particularly dazzling. Standing in front of the Hall of Supreme Harmony, you can almost hear the echoes of history and feel the solemnity of the imperial city. Remember to look up; under the blue sky and white clouds, the flying eaves and corners have a unique charm.
Prince Gong's Mansion: The Secret of the Feng Shui Treasure
Not far from the Forbidden City is Prince Gong's Mansion, the former residence of Heshen and a model of a Qing Dynasty mansion. In autumn, the mansion is covered in golden ginkgo leaves, creating a warm atmosphere. Every corner of the mansion has a story. Find a quiet place to sit and imagine the grandeur of the past.
Beihai Park: Leisurely Enjoyment
Finally, take a walk to Beihai Park, where the rippling lake water and the occasional leisurely ducks will calm your mind. Standing by the White Pagoda, looking into the distance, you can see the entire city of Beijing. At that moment, all your worries seem to be blown away. Feeding the koi by the lake and watching them scramble for food will also bring you endless joy.
During your business trip, Beijing's autumn gives you a reason to rest. Here, you can temporarily forget the pressures of work and simply enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the moment.

The beauty of Beijing's hutongs!
Autumn in the hutongs is truly romantic and beautiful.
Before the smog comes, take a stroll through the hutongs and you might find a beautiful coffee shop called Shangfang Jiewa! The roof next door is already covered with fallen leaves, and the romance is intoxicating!
🍁The "citywalk" route is as follows:
Start from Nanluoguxiang, pass through Qinlao Hutong, then come to Qianyuanensi Hutong, then pass through Shajing Hutong, walk into Heizhima Hutong, then go to Juer Hutong, then go to Beiluoguxiang, then stroll through Huayuan Hutong, and finally arrive at Baochai Hutong.

Nanluoguxiang.
Nanluoguxiang (Nanluogu Lane) is located in Dongcheng District, Beijing. It was built at the same time as Yuan Dadu and runs from north to south. It starts from Gulou East Street in the north and ends at Ping'an Street in the south. It is 787 meters long and 8 meters wide. During the Ming Dynasty, it was part of Zhaohui Jinggongfang and was called Luogu Alley. In the 15th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1750), it was part of the Manchu Bordered Yellow Banner and was called Nanluoguxiang. During the Cultural Revolution, it was once renamed Huihuang Street, and later restored to its original name, Nanluoguxiang. There are 16 hutongs on both sides of Nanluoguxiang, neatly arranged in a fishbone shape. Overlooking the entire block is like a centipede, hence it is also called Centipede Street.

Famous ancient hutong in Beijing
#100waysoftravel
Nanluoguxiang is one of the historic hutongs (narrow streets) in Beijing, representing both local life and modern Chinese culture.
It has an important place in Beijing's vibrant nightlife scene. In the evening, the streets come alive with colorful lights, while various bars and cafes become a meeting point for young people and leisure.
Live music venues and themed bars offer a fun atmosphere with both local and international music.
Especially the bars located in the narrow streets of hutongs are popular with those who want to have a pleasant night with their friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
Not: You should definitely try churros and bamboo water

Visit Beijing! The Manxin Hotel Beijing Nanluoguxiang is the best choice.
❤️ Beijing Nanluoguxiang, an ancient street with a hundred years of cultural heritage, has now become a popular place for young people to check in. If you want to spend a chic weekend, then come to Nanluoguxiang Manxin Mansion.
❤️ Nanluoguxiang Manxin Mansion, as a bright pearl in Nanluoguxiang, is close to the alley entrance and only a 5-minute walk from Metro Line 5.
2 The entire lobby is antique Chinese style. It is said that the hotel also has old objects moved from other places.
The rooms are also great, with complete supporting facilities, smart rooms, and a book bar and bar on the first floor.
❤️ Here, you can drink warm ginger tea and taste strong latte. If you want a comfortable meal, the handmade pasta and handmade pizza here are also highly recommended.
❤️ Chinese and Western meals, multiple choices, authentic Beijing flavor, gourmet food. It is 1 kilometer away from the popular food street Guijie
Why not come and experience the real old Beijing courtyard in the alley! After eating and drinking, shuttle through the alleys, take a walk to find the taste of Beijing

Early autumn in Nanluoguxiang
I have always liked Nanluoguxiang. Although it is often criticized for being overly commercialized, I still like it because I don't inherently dislike commercialization; I just don't like monotonous commercial models. However, I feel that the shops on Nanluoguxiang are gradually changing, and the design of the stores, especially the window aesthetics, is constantly improving.
The main street is a bustling commercial pedestrian street with all kinds of shops, including Western and Chinese restaurants, various drinks, snacks, souvenir shops, and clothing stores. Many shops have their own unique characteristics. The longest-standing shop on this street is probably Zamo Restaurant. I visited it more than ten years ago and thought the small courtyard was well utilized, with creative dishes that incorporated various cuisines. The overall taste was pretty good. The restaurant is still standing strong today, though I haven't tasted the food recently. I might try it again when I have time. Another favorite of mine is Beiping Coffee, a garden-style café that left a good impression on me. The old Sanyuan Meiyuan and Wenyu Cheese seem to still be around, and many new stores have opened, including Tangfang Coffee, which I also like.
The main street is bustling, while the small alleys are very quiet. The cool and pleasant weather of early autumn is perfect for strolling through the alleys, watching the sunlight filter through the trees, seeing the small flowers and grasses growing from the corners of the roofs, spotting the quiet cats lying in the corners, and observing the elderly or children slowly wandering through the alleys. On one side, there is the bustling commercial atmosphere, and on the other, the peaceful and stable life. There are also the former residences of famous people scattered in various corners. Every time I visit, I have different experiences and always find a corner I like.

Shuttle through a thousand years, unlock the secret map of Beijing's hutongs
In the heart of Beijing, where ancient and modern intertwine, lie scrolls untouched by the dust of time—hutongs. They are the veins of this city, whispers of history, and the essence of life. Today, let's embark on a journey through the hutongs, walking on the cobblestone paths, listening to the stories behind every brick and tile.
🌟【Morning Light Awakens the Hutongs】
The first ray of morning sunlight pierces through the mist, gently brushing over the eaves of the hutongs, awakening old Beijing from its slumber. Strolling from the starting point of Nanluoguxiang, flanked by grey walls and black tiles, wooden doors slightly ajar, occasionally hearing the crisp chirping of birds and the distant figure of an old man practicing Tai Chi, everything appears so serene and harmonious. This is not just a journey, but a cleansing of the soul.
👣【Endless Steps on Cobblestone Paths】
The cobblestone paths underfoot, worn smooth and textured by countless years, make every step feel like a beat in the rhythm of history. It seems you can still hear the calls of old-time vendors and the laughter of children. Walking through this unnamed hutong, every turn might reveal a hidden shop, be it handicrafts or authentic snacks, there's always something to touch your heart.
🏮【Timeless Serenity in Courtyards】
Entering a courtyard feels like traveling back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. High thresholds, intricately carved window lattices, a few old locust trees planted in the yard, with a stone table and bamboo chairs underneath, perfect for a summer afternoon's respite. Here, time seems to slow down, making you unconsciously slow your breath, savoring the slow life of old Beijing.
🍜【Feast for the Taste Buds, Authentic Snacks】
Speaking of hutongs, how can one not mention the mouth-watering authentic snacks? Douzhi with fried rings, Zhajiangmian with cucumber strips, and steaming lamb skewers, each is an ultimate temptation for the taste buds. Find a small eatery deep in the hutongs, order a few signature dishes, and share this simple yet profound delicacy with the neighbors, an indispensable part of the hutong journey.
📸【Capture Moments, Record Beauty】
Don't forget to bring your camera or phone to capture these fleeting beautiful moments. Whether it's the silhouette of the hutongs under the sunset, the wet cobblestone paths after the rain, or the innocent smiles of children, all are memories worth cherishing. Hutongs are not just a geographical coordinate but a cultural heritage and a way of life.
🌈【Conclusion】
In Beijing's hutongs, you can always find your own piece of tranquility and emotion. Here lies not only the sediment of history but also the warmth of life. Next time you travel, slow down, walk into these ancient alleys, and let your soul take a spontaneous journey!

I hope this article inspires your interest in traveling through Beijing's hutongs, making each visit an unforgettable journey.

In Nanluoguxiang, seeking fragrance, an exclusive scent awaits you
👀 Recognize a woman by her scent, this time there's a novel experience in Nanluoguxiang!
Stepping into that exquisitely and elegantly decorated perfume shop feels like entering a mysterious world of fragrances.
The process of blending perfume is quick and fun, requiring only three steps to create a unique scent of your own.
According to my preferences, I chose red berries for the top note, camellia for the middle note, and guaiac wood for the base note.
With the professional guidance of the staff, I blended a scent that belongs only to me: youthful liveliness and enthusiasm; elegance and gentleness, yet still steady and serene.
I have to say, this scent has completely captivated me. This summer's fragrance will rely on it!
Moreover, there are beautiful photo spots at the store entrance, not to be missed. Any random shot will turn out great!
Come and blend a scent that belongs to you.

Follow a Beijing local through Nanluoguxiang
📍Detailed address: Located in Dongcheng District, Beijing, running north to south from Gulou East Street to Ping'an Street, it is 787 meters long and 8 meters wide.
🌟Highlight features: In March 2022, Nanluoguxiang was announced by the Beijing Municipal People's Government as part of the first batch of the Traditional Place Name Protection List for the Core Functional Area of the Capital (streets and lanes category).
During the Ming Dynasty, it was part of the Zhaohui Jinggong Fang, known as Luogu Alley. In the 15th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1750), it belonged to the Xianghuang Banner and was called Nanluoguxiang. During the 'Cultural Revolution', it was once renamed to Huihuang Street, but later restored to its original name.
⏳Visiting time: 1—2 hours
🗓Itinerary: The whole journey is on foot. I went there around 9:30 in the morning when most shops were just starting to open. It's mostly local Beijingers strolling and shopping through here, away from the usual hustle and bustle, returning to the character of the special district.
