The National Museum of China: A Million Artifacts Showcasing the Splendid History of Chinese Civilization
The National Museum of China boasts an extensive collection that spans from ancient times to the modern era, with nearly a million artifacts and artworks. Among these are numerous national first-class cultural relics, such as Neolithic pottery, bronze ware from the Shang and Zhou dynasties, Han and Tang dynasty pottery figurines, famous paintings and calligraphy from various dynasties, exquisite porcelain and handicrafts, as well as significant historical artifacts from modern times. These items not only hold immense artistic value but also document the splendid history of Chinese civilization, showcasing the wisdom and creativity of ancient Chinese people. In addition to permanent exhibitions, the National Museum regularly hosts various special and temporary exhibitions in collaboration with museums and cultural institutions both domestically and internationally. For example, past exhibitions like the 'Ancient Egyptian Civilization Exhibition,' 'Roman Art Treasures Exhibition,' and 'Da Vinci and Renaissance Art Exhibition' have all been met with enthusiastic responses from the public. The National Museum is not only a hall for displaying and collecting artifacts but also an important base for academic research and education. The museum has multiple research departments that engage in artifact preservation, historical and cultural research, and archaeological excavations. It also conducts various educational activities to disseminate historical and cultural knowledge to the public, thereby enhancing societal cultural literacy.

People of ancient China walk around the museum
Ancient Chinese style is now very popular among Chinese youth. If you want to see many people, then come to the National Museum of China (Beijing). Visitors very carefully select clothes, shoes, hairstyles and even accessories in this style. This is the trend of recent years in China.

National Museum of China
If you want to know a little bit of history of China, this place is the best place to go. You can spend around 2-3 hours going around the museum and learn how China came to be from the people to the way of living and how China interacted with the world. Located near Tiananmen Square.
note: This is NOT National Art Museum. This is different.

National Museum of China: A fantastic journey of ancient charm and cultural treasures!
Address: No. 16 East Chang'an Street, Dongcheng District, Beijing, east of Tiananmen Square. With a total construction area of nearly 200,000 square meters and a collection of more than 1 million items, it is the largest museum in the world in terms of single building area. After visiting the National Museum, the most genuine feeling is that the exhibition hall is really big, and there are so many exhibits. Here you can see many national treasures that you have seen in history textbooks. The museum is divided into five floors, with a total of 48 exhibition halls. The exhibition halls are very large, and there are many exhibits, including rare national treasures. It takes at least one day to visit the entire museum, which is not only a brain storm to gain knowledge, but also a test of physical strength.

The National Museum of China
The National Museum of China is a place I highly recommend, especially for those who love cultural relics. It's truly a treasure trove. I particularly enjoy the bronze and porcelain exhibits. Getting up close to these artworks really makes you marvel at the wisdom and craftsmanship of the ancients, with each piece telling its own story.
However, be sure to book in advance before visiting, as the museum is very popular and tends to be fully booked during holidays. It's advisable to allocate ample time for your visit, as the exhibition halls are quite large and it may take several hours to go through them. If you also appreciate traditional culture and history, you won't be disappointed here!

Don't miss the special exhibition at the National Museum of China in November.
On this trip to Beijing, the first stop was the National Museum of China. The "Phoenix Kingdom" exhibition is a special exhibition from Hubei, and the exhibits are amazing.
The sword in the first picture is the grandson of the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, known as the best sword in the world. It is said to be the most perfect Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, unearthed, and it is very beautiful. The inscription on the sword is clearly visible, and I love it.
The third picture is the base of the Zenghouyi drum, known as the pinnacle of bronze smelting technology. It is said that its shape cannot be reproduced even with modern technology, and its exquisite craftsmanship is breathtaking.
The special exhibition is in the North Hall 4 of the National Museum of China. I recommend you go there first, as there are fewer people and it is great for taking photos.

I rarely use the word "shocking" to describe an exhibition.
I rarely use the word "shocking" to describe an exhibition (with guide)
I was amazed by the National Museum of China again! It was my first time visiting Zhu Bingren's art exhibition, and everything was golden. Please allow me to use the word "shocking" to describe this guide. Please book in advance.
:Speaking of the protagonist of this exhibition, Zhu Bingren, he is a master of arts and crafts! In 2006, a fire at the Tianning Pagoda in Changzhou opened Zhu Bingren's artistic eyes. He is also skilled in poetry, calligraphy, painting, seal carving, and copper, and is the founder of Chinese copper murals and the pioneer of copper melting art.
:This exhibition features more than 100 representative works by Zhu Bingren, including copper architectural artworks, copper melting artworks, calligraphy and painting, and copper seals. It is a grand exhibition of copper art that perfectly combines traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics, making people marvel at the ingenuity and the accumulation of time.
√ Corner Tower of the Forbidden City: The model of the corner tower and Yongjin Bridge weighs 3.7 tons. You can take a photo of the Golden Water Bridge and the corner tower from the front door, or you can go to the Golden Water Bridge and use the little lion as the foreground to take a photo with a bokeh effect.
√ Leifeng Pagoda: The glittering Leifeng Pagoda brings the beautiful scenery of West Lake to life. You can take a photo from the front, or stand on the south side of the corner tower and use the corner tower as the foreground and Leifeng Pagoda as the background to take a photo of both.
√ Dao Ke Dao: The golden rice waves are shining. The work is relatively large, and the camera cannot capture it all. Just take a photo from the front.
√ A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains: The mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas are vivid. You can place the camera on the glass from the right corner to take a reflection photo.
√ Burning Sunflowers: Western imagery is integrated with Chinese aesthetics. It is taller than expected. Take a panoramic photo from the front.
√ A Thousand Waves of Snow: The waves crash against the shore, rolling up a thousand piles of snow, with a magnificent momentum. It is suitable for taking a vertical photo from the left front, and a horizontal panoramic photo from the front.

It was amazing! The National Museum of China has a great exhibition on ancient Greece.
Different tones produce the most beautiful harmony
Heraclitus (c. 535–475 BC)
The countless changes and iterations of artistic materials and forms constitute a rich visual vocabulary of art. The aesthetic forms born in different eras and cultural environments of ancient Greek civilization form a fascinating picture, which not only contains countless different versions of "beauty," but also shows the efforts made by humans to create harmonious beauty in opposition. Even in the most ordinary everyday objects, we can clearly see the constant changes in human artistic pursuits. This proves that "beauty" is a universal human need, and humans will never stop expressing "beauty" in the most imaginative ways.

Reverse tour of the National Museum.
Very satisfied with today's route, no time wasted. Exit D of Tiananmen East, pass security, enter at 9:00 to get a phoenix crown fridge magnet, get a number, then visit from the 4th floor to the basement in order, and finally leave two hours for Ancient China, almost unlocking all the National Museum's private collections. The second-floor cafe has a queue.

Ancient China Exhibition | The Light of Civilization in the Long Scroll of History.
The "Ancient China Exhibition" is a treasure of the National Museum of China, like a living historical scroll, slowly unfolding before every visitor. It is carefully laid out with the dynastic changes as clues, presenting the mystery of ancient times, the solemnity of the Xia, Shang, and Western Zhou dynasties, the disputes of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, the grandeur of the Qin and Han dynasties, the changes of the Three Kingdoms, the Two Jin Dynasties, and the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the prosperity of the Sui, Tang, and Five Dynasties, the diversity of the Liao, Song, Xia, Jin, and Yuan dynasties, and the splendor of the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Walking into this hall of history, every precious artifact seems to be a silent narrator, whether rusty or dazzling, all silently telling the vicissitudes of that era. From exquisite bronzes to warm jade, from the majestic terracotta warriors to delicate porcelain, each exhibit carries a wealth of historical information, making people stop and gaze, savoring it carefully.
Here, you can not only appreciate the outstanding achievements of ancient China in politics, economy, and culture, but also deeply feel the unique charm of the Chinese nation in social life and foreign exchanges. Those ancient characters, patterns, and buildings all demonstrate the profoundness of Chinese civilization, making people sincerely admire the wisdom and creativity of the Chinese nation.
The "Ancient China Exhibition" is not only a review of history but also an inspiration for the future. It makes us realize more deeply that the reason why Chinese civilization can continue uninterrupted is that people of all ethnic groups have jointly created the historical process of a multi-ethnic country and jointly written the glorious chapter of the Chinese nation. This precious cultural heritage belongs not only to us but also to all mankind, and is our common spiritual wealth.

What kind of National Museum have you seen? | Ancient China under the "empty lens" continues.
The "Ancient China Exhibition" is a permanent exhibition at the National Museum of China. It is organized around the theme of dynastic changes and is divided into eight sections: the Prehistoric Period, the Xia, Shang, and Western Zhou Dynasties, the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods, the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Three Kingdoms, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties, the Sui, Tang, and Five Dynasties, the Liao, Song, Western Xia, Jin, and Yuan Dynasties, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
What is long remembered will surely echo back!
I made another reservation for the National Museum, and this time I focused on the exhibitions of the Three Kingdoms, Jin, and Northern and Southern Dynasties, the Sui, Tang, and Five Dynasties, the Liao, Song, Western Xia, Jin, and Yuan Dynasties, and the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The Tang Sancai is indeed exquisite, and the phoenix crown of Empress Xiaoduan is stunning in the Ming and Qing Dynasties!

2024 Beijing Weekend Exhibition at the National Museum of China - Purple Jade Heart.
The National Museum of China has a recent exhibition in the South 6 and South 7 exhibition halls called "Purple Jade Heart - Chinese Jian Kiln Jian Zhan Culture Exhibition," which showcases the historical evolution of Jian Kiln Jian Zhan.
To be honest, although Jian Zhan is one of my favorite types of tea ware, I don't know much about Jian Kiln Jian Zhan. It turns out that Jian Kiln is in Nanping, Fujian, and Jian Zhan can be roughly divided into three categories: hare's fur, oil spot, and partridge spot. I learned something new!
The last three photos are part of the 14th National Art Exhibition. This exhibition is very large, with the main part at the National Art Museum of China (see another post), and a part at the National Museum of China, mainly practical arts.

Step into the National Museum of China and experience the splendor of history.
The National Museum of China is like a cultural palace that carries the profound history of the Chinese nation. Here, the traces of time are carefully preserved, and the threads of civilization are clearly visible.
Each exhibit seems to tell a story of the past, from ancient bronzes to exquisite ceramics, from mysterious oracle bone inscriptions to magnificent paintings and calligraphy. They are witnesses of history and inheritors of culture.
Strolling through the spacious exhibition halls, it feels like traveling through time and space, conversing with ancient people. Feeling the wisdom and creativity of our ancestors, one cannot help but feel admiration for the long history of the Chinese nation.
The National Museum of China is a gateway to the past and a key to the future. It reminds us to remember history, draw strength, and keep moving forward. Come here and embark on your own journey of history and culture!

Huishi Tiangong | National Museum of China Hebei Quyang Stone Carving Art Exhibition.
Every time I set off for Quyang, Hebei, my heart is filled with anticipation and longing. The words "Hometown of Chinese Stone Carving" shine brightly at the highway exit, like a warm call, leading me into this palace of art.
This time, when I stepped into the National Museum of China and carefully admired the Hebei Quyang Stone Carving Art Exhibition, I was even more shocked. Those finely carved stone sculptures with smooth lines seemed to contain life in every stone, telling stories of a thousand years.
Each stone sculpture embodies the craftsmen's hard work and wisdom. They are not just cold stones, but artworks that carry history and culture. The exquisite carving skills, whether in the delicate lines or realistic images, are breathtaking.
As I strolled through the exhibition hall, I felt as if I had traveled through time and space, having a conversation across millennia with those ancient craftsmen. They used their blood and sweat to carve ordinary stones into eternal artworks, leaving endless admiration and praise for future generations.
This exhibition not only allowed me to appreciate the unique charm of Hebei Quyang stone carvings but also made me deeply feel the profoundness of Chinese culture. Those stone sculptures, like silent history books, record our past and inspire our future.
When I left the National Museum of China, my heart was filled with emotion and pride. I was moved by the craftsmen's persistent pursuit of art and proud that we have such a brilliant cultural treasure. I believe that in the future, Hebei Quyang stone carvings will continue to shine on the world art stage, becoming a beautiful business card of Chinese culture.

I'm back at the National Museum again | Mirror of a Thousand Autumns - Ancient Chinese Bronze Mirror Culture.
The patterns on the ancient bronze mirrors are so exquisite that I stopped to admire them. National Museum of China | Experience the shock of history.
The National Museum of China, this cultural palace is shocking. In the "Ancient China" exhibition hall, precious cultural relics from ancient times to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, such as bronze wares and terracotta warriors and horses, were seen. The "Road to Revival" exhibition hall presents the struggle history of China since modern times. There are also various exhibitions such as ancient costumes and calligraphy and painting. Although the time of one day is short, I feel the profound cultural heritage and the greatness of the national spirit. The National Museum will be my cultural source forever.

‘A must visit to better understand China’
I visited the national museum to better understand China through history. The place is immense and offers many exhibitions. I specifically enjoyed the history exhibitions.
Be mindful to book your tickets in advance. I got lucky there was still availability for the same day!
One thing that struck me was that the staff was walking around with signs for crowd control such as ‘dont scream’ ‘don’t play rough’.

【National Museum】Treasures of ancient civilizations, not to be missed!
✨ Stepping into the National Museum is like entering a time tunnel that takes me back to the ancient and mysterious Chinese civilization. Each exhibit carries the weight of history, allowing me to feel the wisdom and diligence of the ancients. 💖
👀 In the museum, I saw exquisite bronzes, gorgeous silks, and precious paintings and calligraphy, all of which are treasures of the Chinese nation that left me in awe. 🙌
📚 Besides the exhibits, the architecture of the museum is also worth seeing. Its design blends modern and traditional elements, being both grand and elegant. Here, I can appreciate not only the beauty of the cultural relics but also the charm of the architecture. 💖
👍 The staff at the National Museum are also very enthusiastic and professional, and their explanations gave me a deeper understanding of the exhibits. If you are interested in history and culture, you definitely should not miss the National Museum of China! 🙌
