It is my 3rd time here and I find it still amazing. You may be reminded how cruel our nation’s past was. And every time I visit, NEW PIECE or art room is presented! I love the updated art piece of our filipino artist. We also had fun naming all the presidents and giving our thoughts of every event in each story of the history. Manila National Museum of Fine Arts

Booked a Heritage tour on Klook and our tour guide (Bianca) brought us to many places. But this post will be delicate for National of Fine Arts since I was so amazed with that venue! Apart from wonderful art pieces, there are many spots for nice photo taking! We were also very lucky when we visited as the National Museum of Fine Arts museum was having some event with dancers, singers, and instrumentalists live at the venue. Every level has different stories behind them and the most interesting stories from our tour guide is about Juan Luna plus the history of Philippines. Picture two is one of the wall of Juan Luna's painting and picture three plus four is about the history of Philippines. Overall, I would recommend everyone to visit if they have the chance!

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS

Who would have thought we could have an extra day for this? Our flight got cancelled due to Storm Paeng and so we had the chance to rebook our flight to 6pm of the next day and had an extra half day to visit the National Museum of Fine Arts. I have always wanted to visit it though many times I have been to Manila, I never got a chance. They are open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. No entrance fee but if you go there with a group, a representative of the group has to show their ID and vaccination Card. The museum has 4 levels and we only got the chance to explore up to the second level.

If you love history and sketches of the first filipino artists, this is the place. There are also faces of the first presidents and the history of the ruins of various places here in manila. There are wood carvings, oil canvas, unfinished works, marble arts and there are featured works or sculpture like the very first foxes here in the Philippines. This is a 4-storey building and yet we did not covered all the floors and rooms so you can explore a lot more than these features photos. From here you can go to Intramuros, Fort Santiago and Luneta where you can enjoy walking and take pictures or unwind some time.

The last time I visited the National Museum was May 29 this year and that moment we queued for almost an hour to get in since they offered a free admission. Everything is magical inside from artworks, architecture, style and exhibit. It was my eye opener to explore more Filipino art and history. The National Museum is definitely a pilgrimage site for art lovers!

First of all, I come from a fine arts background and specialize in oil painting, so I absolutely give this museum a super invincible five-star review. I could wander around inside for a whole day, and I've even been there three times already. It's free of charge, but you do need to register with a passport photo. Many of the paintings inside are Cubist, and it feels like they are heavily influenced by Picasso. The sculptures are truly amazing, super aesthetic! The central exhibition hall on the third floor is also super suitable for taking photos, and it feels very luxurious and grand. The spiral staircase is also fantastic. The galleries here each have their own color, which is very photogenic, super Instagram-worthy! I won't post any more of my photos here, just a few . Moreover, right behind the National Museum is the National Museum of Humanity, which you can plan to visit in one day, touring both museums is great, but if you're not up for it physically, I suggest splitting the visits.

#2024wish Wonderful museum. The National museum definitely presents the best exhibits out of the other museums in the area. I particularly enjoyed the Guillermo Tolentino exhibit. His sculpturing is unmatched in Filipino art. The building itself feels a bit run-down on the interior side, but the quality of the exhibits makes up for that. The free entry also makes this a must-visit in Manila. i wish to travel more in 2024

#manilatrip Museum of Fine Arts is housed in the Old Legislative Building. The building was designed by Ralph Harrington Doane, Antonio Mañalac Toledo and Juan M. Arellano and built between 1918-1926. Initially it supposed to be National Library but eventually it became the Legislative Building. In February 1945 the Japanese forces used the building as their stronghold. The building’s north and south wings were heavily damaged during American bombardment. The building was rebuilt in 1949. In 2010 the building was declared as a National Historical Landmark. Today National Museum of Fine Arts is a home to 29 galleries and hallway exhibitions comprising of 19th century Filipino artists. Some of the art pieces belong to other institutions, organizations, and individuals (many paintings were lended by Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP). On the 4 Floor is interesting temporary exhibition called “The Long Journey” showcasing Magellan voyage around the world. The entrance is free of charge. Open every day (except Monday) from 9 am. Some of the art is great, some less so, but it is still a must visit place in Manila.
