Educational Creatures of the Night Show
#weekendgetaways
Singapore Night Safari is a unique and captivating wildlife attraction that offers visitors a chance to explore the wonders of the animal kingdom after dark. Guests embark on a tram ride through different geographical zones, each designed to replicate a specific habitat. These zones include the Himalayan Foothills, Southeast Asian Rainforest, and Indian Subcontinent, among others. The dimly lit pathways and carefully concealed lighting allow visitors to witness the animals in their element without disturbing their nocturnal activities.
One of the main highlights of the Night Safari experience is the "Creatures of the Night Show," which showcases the incredible talents of the animals that thrive under the cover of darkness. This mesmerizing performance takes place in a purpose-built amphitheater and showcases the incredible abilities of some of the park's residents. The show provides an opportunity to appreciate the unique talents of these nighttime animals. The show is not only entertaining but also educational, as it sheds light on the behaviors and adaptations that help these creatures thrive in the darkness.

Went in about 7pm on a Thursday night. It was just in time for tram ride. Perfect timing for the ride as it was right before sunset. After the ride we went for walking trails and managed to see many nocturnal creatures in their habitat. There was night show available for booking 2h before show time. Animals were well trained with good interaction with the trainers.

The world's first night zoo Singapore Night Safari
I visited the Night Safari. This zoo, the world's first to open at night, is a must-see when visiting Singapore.
Unlike other zoos, I couldn't take many pictures because it was at night, but it was so exciting.
At first, I went around by bus to see the animals, and later I walked around. It was my first time to visit a zoo after the sun went down, and there were many nocturnal animals, so it was so amazing.
In particular, there is a space where you can be with animals, and although it was scary and trembling, it was my first time, so it was so much fun.
I think this unique zoo is a travel destination unique to Singapore that is hard to experience anywhere else.

Don’t miss the night safari in Singapore
Only in Singapore is it possible to go to the Zoo at night! Please add the location to your to-go list! To cut down on the time spent waiting to enter the zoo, just buy the tickets on Klook! A nice reminder that Safari offers tourists a free shuttle bus, so they shouldn't be concerned about transportation at all.
Enjoy!

Have you visited zoo at night?
It was quite a good experience viewing the animals during the night at The Night Safari #singapore. May spend up to few hours for few activities like tram riding, trail walk, catch a show and enjoy a meal there.

Singapore Night Safari is home to around 900 animals and classified as the world's first nocturnal wildlife park. See these spectacular animals in a different light, after the sun goes down. Explore six geographical zones on a 40-minute guided tram ride that takes you from the Himalayan hills to the Southeast Asian jungles. Take a walking trail for a closer view of the animal's nightly rituals, including Sri Lankan leopards studying their spots, and fishing cats hunting their prey in the river.

A must Singapore-Do attraction!
As dusk falls, get ready as over 1,000 nocturnal animals start their nightly rituals. Come up close to them as they frolic, graze and hunt. With an exciting tram ride that takes you through 7 geographical regions and more, embark on a fascinating journey through the world's very first wildlife night park. The Tram will take you around most of the park within 45 mins and get you the comfort of familiarity of knowing the park and sections, then you can get back at the start destination and walk the trials you missed, but knowing where your going. Kids loved the Tigers and Hyena area. The whole purpose of the park at night is to feel natural for the guests ‘in the jungle’, and for the animals so if you don’t like dimmed lit streets (like moonlight) and walking cemented sometimes tight trials spotting animals on hills, then maybe consider staying and just doing the tram and shows. This park is owned by the renowned Mandai Group and Animal Conservation is the key here, that is the priority and you can see how well the animals are looked after and catered for.
Final Tip, plan ahead and do the Tram, walk before you do the creatures of the night show. Pre book your seats for the show (free included in ticket) at the start of coming in (QR Booking system). We booked for 9.30 show (goes for about 20mins) we then had dinner (as park opens 7pmish) and quick bite before heading back to hotel.
.
If your taking kids, don’t stress them out in the earlier part of the day. They will need their strength for the walking at night.#tripblazers #bucketlistreboot #mytripvlog #themepark

A Thrilling Night
Visited the Night Safari after many years, and the experience was still as memorable. Spotting animals in the dark added to the thrill and excitement of the night. Be sure to catch the Creatures of the Night show! Hop on the tram in the early evening to easily spot animals from the ride while the sun is still up.#MustVisit

WildNight with WildLife
One of the fun experiences in Singapore if you're travelling with a kid. We booked our tickets via Trip.com which was pretty simple and straightforward. However, a time slot reservation is needed via a separate website. If you would like to catch the creatures of the night show, you have to book via their main website at least 2 hours before the showtime (7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm). We booked the earliest entrance slot time at 7.15pm, but arrived before 7pm. There was already a long queue at the entrance when we arrived. Upon entry, I advise that you go straight for the tram ride to see the wild animals. Always a better idea to catch them while there is still a bit of light (will be more difficult to see in the dark). The tram ride takes around 30 minutes. After which, go straight for the animal show. If you queue early, you get to choose better seats and get to see the little animals up close! we sat right in front and centre, and had the best view in the house! After that, you can either choose to walk the various trails, or rejoin the queue for the tram for a 2nd round in case u miss any of the animals. we walked the Wallaby trail and half the East Lodge trail. For parents with young toddlers like us, best to bring your own stroller / rent one there for SGD8, but be careful not to bring too big a stroller or else it'll be quite tight in some places to maneuver it around! also, bring a raincoat, some insect repellent patches and water. Overall, it was a really fun experience and although we didnt get to see all of the animals (some were asleep/hiding like the asiatic lions and hippos - so dont go with too high hopes, animals are not always expected to put up a show for u!), we still got pretty up close with alot of cool animals! Love the experience, would definitely recommend it!

Nocturnal Wildlife at Night Safari
As the sun starts to set, the day is just beginning at Night Safari, the first nocturnal wildlife park in the world! 🌙 The park opens from 6.30pm to midnight daily and offers visitors a chance to see nocturnal animals that we don’t usually get to see elsewhere!
Take a guided tram tour around the zones to have a quick look and learn about some of these animals, in the comfort of sitting in a tram and observing them from afar. Have a leisurely post-dinner stroll along the 4 trails that are connected in one full circle around the park to these animals up close and read more about them.
The 4 trails can be comfortably completed in about 1-2 hours, but do save some time to catch the hourly Creatures of the Night show to be amazed by the skills and tricks of some of these night animals. Prior bookings are required due to limited seats and they open 2 hours before each show’s timeslot, so my advice is to immediately book a slot via the QR code at the entrance.

Taste of Malaysia
#moreinsg
Located just at the gates of the Night Safari, one of Singapore’s most iconic tourist attraction is ironically a foodcourt offering the foods of our neighbours, Malaysia with the name Taste of Malaysia. The two countries been so closely located, it’s hard to decide which food originated from which country, so the food choices at taste of Malaysia is definitely exactly what you would find in Singapore.
The quaint foodcourt offers Penang style char kway Tiao ( fried noodles), Chicken rice and satay among many other options, you can also settle for some New Zealand ice cream as dessert after,
Strange but true.

A short half hour after the opening of the night safari, the first nocturnal wildlife park in the world, the creature of the night show begins to entertains its guest who made their early arrival.
The 25 minutes show introduces the nocturnal predators and their display of prowess with their trainers such as the spotted hyenas, owls, otters and others.
There are four time slots to the show starting at 7.30pm and subsequently every hour until the last show at 10.30pm and the show happens only on fridays, Saturday, eve of public holidays and public holidays only, so be sure to book your seats as seats are limited.

Visit the Night Safari
Known as the first part nocturnal wildlife park in the world, the night safari is part of the Mandai wildlife reserve along with the Singapore Zoo, river wonders and Jurong Bird Park.
You can go through the entire park either on tram or you might try to go into the unknown that’s not touched by the trams by going on foot where you can spot more nocturnal animals like bats and cheetah to name a few.
What’s more? Each entry to the park has conservation included in the ticket, which includes the protection of endangered species and the education of youth to better understand how to protect our earth better, so you are making a difference just by visiting the night safari.

Dining at Night Safari
The ulu ulu safari restaurant used to be at the entrance plaza of Night Safari currently became a themed foodcourt of “A taste of Malaysia” which is very interesting considering that the Night Safari is a Singapore tourist attraction. The place offers 300 seating and it is not air condition, it acts more like an expensive food court now. Prices are also more expensive than the Singapore Zoo. Instead of ordering from a counter, you go to the individual stores just like a food court, my friends and I went to dine in after our visit to the night safari. It was rather late, at almost 10, so I guess we should count our blessing that we still have food options. Though many were running out. But I will be honest, the experience at Singapore Zoo’s Ah Meng restaurant was much better. There is also a New Zealand natural for you to eat ice cream to cool you down.

Creature of the night 🦉
I joined in the Creature of the Night Show at the Night Safari which we have to book it online via a QR code that is available only upon entry into the Night Safari. When I was here last year we had to physically queue for a spot so I missed the show.
It is a 25 minutes animal show where the super cute nocturnal animals come out to play and showcase their skills together with their trainers like a Eurasian Eagle owl's jaw-dropping 270 degrees neck twist.
Or how stealthy it flies when and the athleticism of the fennec fox when it jumps, the sensitive smelling senses of the spotted hyenas, as well as the performance of many other animals

Must See: Creature of the Night show
I will always recommend Night Safari to my overseas friends because it is a night time zoo. Plus it is also the world’s first zoo for nocturnal animals, it is definitely a must visit.
The ticket has the guided tram ride included to tour around night safari. But I recommend you to do the trekking on foot. There are proper pathways for trekking and also plenty of directional signboards. So there is no need to worry about getting lost. It does get pretty dark and I always will have my maglite or my phone torchlights for navigation.
One time, I also went trekking at Night Safari during the Ghost Festival month. Ok, nothing abnormal but kinda fun to trek in the dark.
Their daily night show ‘Creatures of the Night’ is a must watch too. There is this segment whereby a giant snake is hidden under the audience bench, which it had removed from the show. Now they will just ask for a volunteer on stage and bring the snake onto his/her shoulder. It is pretty entertaining.

Unique Experience at the Zoo!
For first-timers, it is a definitrly must-visit attraction in Singapore. Ensure enjoy the tram ride and cooling night hike through the rainforest!!
There's also a free fire show at 645pm at the entrance.
You wont be able to see some of the animals like the tapir, flamingos, deer, buffaloes etc if u dont take the tram. The place is abit dark but on a cool night, the snimals are quite active so have fun spotting where they are! Tram ride plus trail will take u about 3.5hrs. There's a creature of the night show which requires early booking be sure to book early! It was definitely something unique and I'll be back
Also do note that the bat and flying fox enclosures are closed due to covid.

Night Safari
📍80 Mandai Lake Rd, Singapore 729826
Night Safari is Singapore’s iconic tourist attraction and also the world’s first safari park designed for nocturnal animals. Feeling excited to take a look at it.🐒
I entered on 7:10pm. Took the tram once entered the safari. 🚃 The tram will take the tourists around the whole safari, passing some main viewpoint with English commentary. But you can’t be lucky enough to see all the animals as some of them have rested. The tram takes no more than one hour.
You would get off the tram around the entry, then you could walk around the 4 trails they have, which you can closely look at some of the animals. 🐈You could start from fishing cat trail and keep going and end with wallaby trail, where you could easily go back to the entry/exit. The map and indicators are very clear, and the route design is also very reasonable, so you won’t get lost and don’t need to go back often.
I like the lion and flamingo, 🦩and an Indian rhino, which is huge but friendly, and can be very very close to see. 🦏But it’s really hard to take some good picture if you don’t have an amazing phone or camera. 📷

Night Safari is a good combination with visiting the Zoo.
You can see 2 different Shows:
1. a Fire Show
2. the creatures of the night
I recommend you to take the tram around the park first to get an overview and then walk the trails.
You get really close to bats🦇, lions 🦁, wallabies, tigers 🐅 or different small animals.
This experience is really nice if you have kids.

Exploring the night zoo, the animals are smashing at night
An animal show called "The Elf of the Night" is the ace of the Singapore Night Zoo. The
show begins with a black, sloppy, docile and honest animal. Its less light body crawled on the shoulders of the animal trainer, and it was dark and even difficult to distinguish between the five senses. Its task is to complete a small game to guess where the food is, in conjunction with the on-site invited children. At the same time, the whimsical owls that always appear in some funny videos flew past the theater and fell honestly on the staff's arms. Later, it appeared to be called a leopard cat. The "selling point" can be vacated to reach about 5 times its own height. Sure enough, the breeder threw a large piece of meat high, only to see the leopard cat jump agilely, slamming, the meat fell into its mouth. The speed is too fast, and I can't clearly capture the most exciting moments. Next, it was the turn of the big python that was 5 meters deep. Perhaps it was too nervous and excited. The lady just fell into a big head as soon as she entered the scene, and she came back to the world in front of everyone. Then it was the turn of Mr. Raccoon and two cute little mice to perform. Their task is to put garbage such as bottles into the trash can. Don't look at the chubby face of the classmates. The embarrassing look is so cute. The night action show lasts for about 35 minutes. It is recommended to sit in the front row, so you will have the opportunity to get in touch with the little animals.

Is the Singapore Night Safari Worth It?
The Singapore Zoo has four parks, and the Night Safari is undoubtedly the most famous. However, many visitors leave disappointed, feeling like they are wandering in the dark wilderness with nothing to see and strange noises coming from the bushes. But with the right approach, it can be quite enjoyable!
♥️ Entry The Night Safari is the only park that requires a reservation for entry. We booked the 7:45 PM slot, and by the time we entered, there was already a long line for the tram. It's best to book the earliest slot to avoid long waits.
♥️ Touring Due to the long tram lines, we opted for the walking route, passing through the Pangolin Trail, Leopard Trail, East Lodge Trail, and Wallaby Trail. On the Leopard Trail, you can take a small detour to the Lion Lookout, though we didn't see any lions as they were likely resting.
Continuing on the Leopard Trail, there's a fork leading to the Indian Rhino, where you can book a feeding session. The path is dimly lit but not too dark to see. Discovering animals hidden in the dark can be quite thrilling, like exploring the wilderness with unknown dangers lurking around. The walk takes about two hours, and if you have time, it's recommended to return to the tram station for a ride to see more animals.
Some exhibits might not have visible animals, but that's understandable. Even in daytime zoos, animals like lions, tigers, and pandas sometimes stay indoors, so we can't expect all animals to be active here. Respecting their natural behavior is key! Lastly, remember to protect yourself from mosquitoes and bugs. I got bitten on my leg, which was itchy and painful for days.

Singapore Night Safari Guide Part 2
Part 2 focuses on the Night Safari's walking trails. The park features four main trails and an additional Pangolin Trail. The Fishing Cat Trail, marked in yellow on the map, showcases Southeast Asian animals like fishing cats, giant anteaters, Brazilian porcupines, and Indian gharials. The Leopard Trail, marked in red, highlights big cats such as clouded leopards and Asian lions, and offers a unique experience with Malayan flying foxes. The East Lodge Trail, marked in orange, features African and Amazonian animals like spotted hyenas and white tigers. The Tasmanian Devil Trail, marked in bright pink, displays Australian and New Zealand marsupials like Tasmanian devils and kiwis.
Visitors can enter the trails from either side of Station 1. The trails form a 3km loop, taking 1-2 hours to complete depending on your pace. Each trail takes about 15-20 minutes to explore, with the Leopard Trail being the longest at around 30 minutes. Staff are stationed along the trails, and exhibits are illuminated with moonlight mode lighting. Safety measures include low-voltage electric fences and glass windows.
Tip: During peak seasons, if the tram queue is long, consider watching a show or walking the trails first. The restaurant is open until 10:30 PM, and the shop until midnight. Public transport is convenient, but the subway closes early, so plan to leave by 10:30 PM to catch a shuttle or bus. The park's shuttle service runs until midnight. Smoking is prohibited throughout the park.
Enjoy your visit to the world's first night safari! For Chinese trail guides or other inquiries, feel free to message Sarah. Have a great trip and enjoy the park!
Note: Photos are shared by fellow travelers. For a glimpse of the animals on each trail, refer to the guide.

Explore Singapore's Night Safari with This Handy Guide
Who turned the Night Safari into a hiking trail? Our one-hour trail turned into a three-hour adventure, and we left the park at 11 PM. If you love walking and in-depth exploration, keep reading. Arrive at the park around 6:30 PM to catch a beautiful sunset. The tram and four walking trails open at 7 PM. We lined up for the tram at 6:45 PM, and even on a Wednesday, it was quite crowded. Check the map to know which animals to look for, as some, like the tapir, can only be seen from the tram. The tram operates until 11:30 PM, so if you miss any animals, you can take another ride. We rode it twice and finally saw the tapir up close! Remember to be a respectful visitor by not using flash photography and not disturbing the animals.
There are four trails, each clearly marked. The first is the Pangolin Trail, featuring native Southeast Asian animals. Look for the amusing armadillos and the fascinating Slow Loris and Mousedeer. There's also a giant anteater hidden in the dark. The second trail is the Leopard Trail, where you can see porcupines and various civets. We witnessed a rhino feeding, which was impressive, and saw hyenas not visible from the tram. Some open houses, like the bat enclosure, offer a thrilling experience.
The third and fourth trails are shorter, featuring African animals on the East Lodge Trail and the Tasmanian Devil Trail. Here, you'll find unique creatures that resemble a mix of deer, kangaroo, and large rodents. Large animals like tigers and elephants are also here, along with the adorable Tasmanian devils.
We missed the animal interaction show due to our thorough exploration, but if you're interested, plan accordingly. Overall, it was an enjoyable animal exploration journey with minimal disturbance to the animals. While some animals are in glass enclosures, they have ample space. Hopefully, we can find better ways to explore nature and treat animals kindly. #SingaporeTravel #NightSafariGuide #NightSafariAdventure

Night Safari's Pangolin Trail and Asian Elephant Habitat
Singapore's iconic Night Safari, the world's first of its kind, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with two new attractions—the revamped Pangolin Trail and the brand-new Asian Elephant Habitat.
The revamped Pangolin Trail is the Night Safari's first fully enclosed walking trail, featuring 15 exhibits, including six never-before-seen displays and four mixed-species habitats. In total, there are 11 stunning Southeast Asian species, including the Malayan pangolin, slow loris, flying squirrel, barn owl, buffy fish owl, lesser mouse-deer, small-toothed palm civet, common palm civet, leopard cat, binturong, and small-clawed otter.
Along the trail, there is an interactive ranger station assisted by experts to introduce visitors to the Malayan pangolin. You can also find ways to support the Mandai Wildlife Group's dedicated conservation efforts to save this species.
on't miss the special feeding sessions held every night at 8:45 PM until January 1, 2025, for a close encounter with the pangolins. Additionally, the Night Safari's legendary Asian elephant, Chawang, has found a new home in the brand-new elephant habitat, which spans over 4,300 square meters.
Visitors can admire this majestic giant from a viewing deck, marking the first time visitors can see an Asian elephant walking in the Night Safari.

Explore Singapore's Night Safari
The Night Safari in Singapore is designed to minimize disturbance to nocturnal animals, so the lighting is quite dim. It's best to enter the park early and start with a walking tour when it opens at 7:00 PM. Walking allows for a more flexible and engaging experience compared to the tram tour, which offers limited views and is less controllable in terms of speed and angle.
For the walking route, it's recommended to start at the Tasmanian Devil Trail and exit via the Fishing Cat Trail, moving counterclockwise to avoid the crowds. This way, you can enjoy a more peaceful observation experience, especially in the early sections of the route.
Key species to look out for include the Kiwi bird, Tasmanian Devil, Aardvark, Asiatic Lion, Binturong (known for its popcorn-scented secretions), Clouded Leopard, Gharial, Malayan Pangolin, and Fishing Cat. Some of these species are rarely seen in mainland zoos or are critically endangered with only a few hundred individuals left in the wild.
After the walking tour, the lines for the tram should be shorter, making it a good time to take a ride and spot animals like the Malayan Tapir, Indian Rhino, and Banteng, which are harder to see on foot.
As for animal shows, while the Night Safari offers performances, they are not particularly unique. If you have ample time, you might enjoy them, but serious animal enthusiasts might prefer to spend more time observing the animals.
Visiting a zoo is a serious activity, and having a knowledgeable guide can enhance the experience significantly. Otherwise, it might just be a casual visit. All photos were taken by me and include the Aardvark, Clouded Leopard, Fishing Cat, Kiwi bird, Tasmanian Devil, and Mouse Deer.

Exploring Singapore's Night Safari
I had a great time! It's perfect for those with good night vision, a love for exploration, and no compulsive tendencies.
Ticket Info: Due to thunderstorms in Singapore that lasted into the afternoon, our original plans were scrapped, and we decided to move up our itinerary. We bought tickets on Fei Zhu at around 4 PM for 210, which was cheaper than the official website and Klook.
Transportation: Take the MRT to Khatib station on the NS line, where you can transfer to the Mandai Khatib Shuttle to the zoo, getting off at the second stop. The return trip is the same, costing 2.5 SGD each way.
Itinerary: We arrived at the zoo around 6 PM, took some photos at the entrance, and spent a long time in the souvenir shop. By 6:50, we went to line up for the tram, which already had a long queue, taking about 20 minutes to board. It's better to arrive early to catch the first tram.
While queuing, you can book the animal show at 7:30 or 8:30 PM through the official app or scan the QR code before lining up. The tram ride lasts about half an hour, and at 7 PM, it's not completely dark yet, offering better visibility and coinciding with the animals' feeding time, so you can see active animals at almost every stop. After the tram, bypass the previous queue area and walk the Pangolin Trail, choosing the right path at the fork.
At the second fork, head towards the Fishing Cat Trail to catch the 8:30 PM show. After the show, continue along the trail to minimize backtracking. It's unrealistic to finish the tram ride and trail before the 8:30 PM show, but if you catch the 7:30 PM show, you might manage it if you're at the front of the tram queue. By around 10 PM, most animals start resting, so it's best to finish the trail by 10:30 PM.
We caught the Mandai Khatib Shuttle around 10:35 PM and still had the MRT for the return trip. Experience: The park's lighting is similar to moonlight on snow, attracting animals to move within the light range with food. What you see depends partly on luck, but the animals behave naturally, with little stereotypical behavior observed. The darkness makes barriers less visible, giving a wild feel, with hyenas close enough to touch and porcupine quills within reach, making you worry about lions pouncing.
You also realize that sounds and smells help detect animals earlier. If you're alone on the trail, it can be thrilling, more enjoyable than a haunted house for me. A small tip: wear less revealing clothing due to mosquitoes, and the temperature is slightly cooler than in the city

Spend a Weekend at the Zoo in Singapore!
Arrive at the River Safari by 4:30 PM and explore the park twice, enjoying the 'Once Upon a River' show and the Amazon River Quest.
My favorite animals were the otters and capybaras, they are so adorable! Note that by 7:00 PM, most restaurants in the River Safari stop serving food. At 8:15 PM, enter the Night Safari. We explored all trails except the Tasmanian Devil's path. On the Pangolin Trail, you can see a large pangolin and armadillos, completing the walk in under an hour. The night animal show is highly recommended, remember to book two hours in advance on the Mandai app.
You'll see raccoons, porcupines, hyenas, foxes, etc. We took the tram ride, which mostly features large animals like elephants, rhinos, tigers, deer, and buffalo. Since it was past 10 PM, the queue was less than 10 minutes. Finally, we walked the Leopard Trail, which has a bat house filled with bats, quite scary! By the time we left, it was around 11:40 PM, but the later it gets, the more active the animals are! We saw lively pangolins and otters eager to end their day.
Lastly, at the gift shop, we found Miffy and Singapore Zoo collaboration fridge magnets (four designs), keychains, and plush toys.
