SAMSON RICHARDS
Shenzhen OCT East in the rain.
On a November afternoon, Shenzhen OCT East is immersed in the gentle caress of drizzle, presenting a unique tranquil scenery. Raindrops slide gently along the eaves of European-style buildings, creating a crisp melody with the puddles on the cobblestone road. The mist lingers in the mountains, draping a hazy veil over this paradise. With few tourists, it appears even more serene and tranquil. The trees in the rain appear greener, and the air is filled with the freshness of soil and flowers. Strolling through it feels like entering a secret garden far from the hustle and bustle, allowing the soul to rest peacefully.

Exploring every bit
Come to the Overseas Chinese Town in the eastern part of Shenzhen to escape the summer heat and cool off
Friends, the Overseas Chinese Town in the eastern part of Shenzhen is really so much fun, I didn't want to leave after playing. I feel that one day is not enough to explore everything because it's really huge. A weekend mini-vacation there would be just perfect.
🎡
📍 Guangdong Province, Shenzhen City, Yantian District, Meisha Street, Donghaian Community, Sanzhoutian·Eastern Overseas Chinese Town
🚗Transportation: It takes about two and a half hours to drive there from the Pearl River Delta, or you can take the subway🚇 Line 2, get off at Dameisha Station Exit B (1.5 kilometers away from the destination after exiting), and you can walk or take a taxi.
🎡
The Eastern Overseas Chinese Town is located in Yantian District, Shenzhen, close to Dameisha, mainly including two major attractions: the Grand Canyon and Tea Stream Valley. In addition, there are various small attractions.
·
The first day we went to play in the Grand Canyon, where there is so much to do. You can go see the Grand Canyon Waterfall, Hayfield Town, Roaring Mountain Flood Performance, play on the wooden roller coaster, take the Cloud Sea Cableway, walk in the clouds from the Forest Cable Car Line 1, and hike to the summit. In the evening, you can also go to nearby Dameisha to eat seafood and enjoy the night view.
·
The second day we went to check in at Tea Stream Valley. You must take the sightseeing train🚂 that I've been longing for in Tea Stream Valley. Slowly passing through the mountains and jungles, it feels like stepping into a Hayao Miyazaki manga. In Interlaken Town, you can feed pigeons🕊️ and also see colorful flowers💐. Tea Stream Valley is shaded by green trees, and it's very comfortable to walk there, making it very suitable for escaping the summer heat and cooling off.

The stunning Bougainvillea waterfall is just too beautiful! It's right in Shenzhen!
The Bougainvillea waterfall in Shenzhen Xianhu Botanical Garden is located in the parking area, where a five-story high flower wall pours down like nature's palette, blooming with tender romance. Unlike the common bright pink, the Bougainvilleas here are predominantly light pink, resembling a cherry blossom tunnel in spring, yet with an added touch of tropical passion and resilience. From October to April of the following year is the peak blooming season for Bougainvilleas, when they bloom vengefully, turning the parking lot into the most incredible dreamy garden.
🏞️ Must-visit attractions:
- Best time to take photos: The soft light before sunset allows you to capture the gentlest pink of the Bougainvilleas. Remember to plan your trip in advance to avoid missing the best light and shadow.
- Try different angles and compositions, such as shooting from below the flower waterfall or using reflections to add depth to your photos.
- Why not slow down and wander through the flowers, feeling the surprise and tranquility of an unexpected encounter.
🚗 Detailed address:
Shenzhen Xianhu Botanical Garden parking lot, accessible from Exit C3 of Line 8, no entrance ticket required for close-up viewing.
🛣️ Transportation tips:
- Subway: Take the subway to Line 8, get off at Exit C3, and walk to reach the destination.
- Bus: Several bus routes go directly to the vicinity of Xianhu Botanical Garden. After getting off, follow the signs and walk for a few minutes to arrive.
🍲 Food recommendations:
- On the way to Xianhu Botanical Garden, try the IMA Cap Western restaurant at the exit of Longhua subway station to add a refined taste to your journey.
- On the way back, don't miss the seafood stalls in Shenzhen. Fresh seafood paired with chilled beer is the perfect end to a day's journey.
🏞️ Nearby attractions recommendations:
- Wutong Mountain Scenic Area: Not far from the Bougainvillea waterfall is Shenzhen's highest peak, Wutong Mountain. Climb to the top for a different view of the city.
- East Overseas Chinese Town: Experience the perfect combination of eco-tourism and cultural entertainment. Whether it's the tranquility of Tea Stream Valley or the excitement of Knight Valley, both are exceptional choices for a visit.

🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Tea Stream Valley⛰: Inside, there is a town built to mimic Switzerland's Interlaken, filled with exotic charm, giving you the feeling of strolling in Switzerland🇨🇭, as if the distant mountains are the Alps🗻
The wetland garden is as dazzling as a rainbow🌈🌈🌈, with rows of pink🌸, deep red🌺, and yellow🌼 flowers, like ribbons stretching across the hillside⛰️, incredibly splendid~
(Thumbtack) Practical tips: Take the scenic area's small train🚞 to tour Tea Stream Valley, where the villas🏡 nestled in the mountains⛰️ are scattered in an orderly fashion, also forming a beautiful landscape🏜~
🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲
Knight Valley is a recreational paradise, with a water park🌊, roller coasters🎢, glass walkways, cable cars🚡... thrilling rides🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 that can make your adrenaline soar. What are you waiting for?
The Sea of Clouds Highland in Knight Valley is the best viewing platform to overlook the Overseas Chinese Town East, offering a 360-degree panoramic cloud corridor. It is the only cloud-top extreme spinning wheel in Asia, and the 360-degree rotation will make you scream besides screaming😱😱😱
📍Detailed address:
The Overseas Chinese Town East is located in Dameisha, Yantian District, Shenzhen. It is recommended to drive there🚗. If taking a bus🚌, you can get off at the Meisha Hospital🏥 station and then walk to the destination~
💰Average cost: Knight Valley and Tea Stream Valley have separate ticket sales. Knight Valley tickets are more expensive, with adult tickets🎫 around 180, while Tea Stream Valley is cheaper, with adult tickets🎫 around 115~
📌Practical tips: It is recommended to buy a joint ticket, which is more cost-effective, averaging about 235 per person. You can choose to stay overnight in Overseas Chinese Town🛏, spending one day each in Tea Stream Valley and Knight Valley. Staying in the Interlaken town is great👍🏻!

An oasis in the city, with fresh air and a beautiful environment. Take a ride on the miniature train, make a round around the scenic area, and enjoy the natural scenery along the way.

The clouds over Eastern Overseas Chinese Town are the most beautiful!
If I were to recall the scenery of the entire Eastern Overseas Chinese Town, what left the deepest impression on me would definitely be the clouds here. Eastern Overseas Chinese Town is divided into attractions on the mountain and at the foot of the mountain. At the foot of the mountain, everyone can enjoy various amusement facilities to their heart's content. Of course, if it's the weekend, you might still need to queue up, but I prefer to take the cable car up to the mountain.
Although there are relatively fewer amusement facilities on the mountain, and the activities are more singular, I prefer to stand on the mountain and look at the distant scenery. There, you can see the sea of Yantian, the distant clouds, and countless beauties.
On the mountain of Eastern Overseas Chinese Town, we can take the rotating cloud ladder to higher places, or we can take a leisurely walk along the trail. However, I must remind everyone that some paths are relatively narrow, and if there are many visitors, safety should be a priority, especially in the hot summer. Heat prevention is crucial because the higher you go, the closer you are to the sun, and the ultraviolet rays by the seaside are exceptionally strong.

A great weekend destination in Shenzhen, come relax for a moment at the Overseas Chinese Town East (OCT East)
🥹 Work has been too busy lately, and I haven't had the chance to go out and play, and I don't want to travel too far‼️ Away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, OCT East is a great choice, and it's quite convenient in Shenzhen too😘 Take advantage of the weekend and make plans with friends to come to OCT East, it's quite a surprise for the first visit~ It's relaxing to stroll around and enjoy the beautiful sights🥰
🌊 Shenzhen's weather is still quite hot, so sisters coming to OCT East must remember to bring: sunscreen🧴, mosquito repellent, sun hats, mineral water, etc.😘 Be prepared for any needs🧜♂️
🌊: Knight Valley Waterfall
🥳 Visually, it's quite stunning‼️ Although the drop isn't huge, it's great for taking photos when the weather is nice~ When I arrived, I even encountered a group of primary school students visiting, so cute and well-behaved🥹
🏯: Hayfield Town
🥳 It's called a small town, but describing it as a princess's castle wouldn't be an overstatement. Inside the town, there are restaurants, tea shops, etc.~ The value for money is quite good, and it's nice to take a break and recharge when you're tired~ It's said that there are occasional performances, but unfortunately, I didn't encounter any. However, taking photos inside is really amazing‼️ You must bring your sisters to take beautiful pictures🥰
🌊: Rapids Adventure
🥳 Remember to bring your own raincoat and shoe covers, although you can buy them in the scenic area, 10 yuan each and the quality is quite good. You don't have to worry about getting wet while playing, and the feeling of weightlessness comes as you rush down from high up‼️ And the splashes are quite big~ I played two rounds in a row, really happy🥹
🎢: Wooden Roller Coaster
🥳 The all-wood roller coaster is quite fast, but the slope isn't very steep, it's quite thrilling. I only played with my sisters 3 times💃
🚠|Jungle Cable Car Line 1
🥳 Riding this cable car, you can experience being surrounded by the jungle. It's a relatively large cabin that goes straight up to the mountain top, the scenery along the way is beautiful and quite cool😘 You can also take the cable car back down the same way🥰
🥳 The whole day's experience was quite nice~ Good to walk around, fun to play, close to nature, and relaxing for a moment is quite pleasant haha💃

Oriental Overseas Chinese Town
Fairy-tale forest train, the Oriental Overseas Chinese Town train guide to check in the Oriental Overseas Chinese Town forest train does not require the purchase of an entrance ticket to the Oriental Overseas Chinese Town, and tickets can be bought separately. Scan the code on-site to purchase tickets, 30r on weekdays and 50r on weekends, free for children under 1.2m in height. A round on the train takes about 50 minutes, and one ticket allows for multiple rides. It's not only popular with children but also with adults!
The train operates from 10:00 to 17:00. Sitting on the left side at the back of the train offers a more beautiful view. Around four in the afternoon, there are fewer people, allowing you to switch sides to enjoy the scenery on both sides. Along the way, you can overlook the entire European-style town, the lake, and mountain scenery, and see the Dahuaxing Temple and Meisha Tip in the distance. You will also pass through several tunnels. It's not hot in the summer on the train, as the breeze is quite refreshing. The temperature here is a few degrees cooler than in the city center, making it a great place to take children out in the summer.
The train ride lasts about 50 minutes, starting from the Interlaken station, stopping for a few minutes at the Big Bend station, and then returning to the Interlaken station. If you're going to the Oriental Overseas Chinese Town Grand Canyon, you can get off at the Big Bend without exiting the station, and one ticket allows for multiple rides.

There will be a lot of people queuing up, it's time to bet on patience
When I went there, the roller coaster was closed, but I waited in line for an hour to play the wooden roller coaster, a different experience.
