Our summer time in Riga, Latvia Riga is the capital city of Latvia and has one of the best medieval architecture in the world. The entire city has approximately 700.000 people, it's quiet and best for holiday getaway. The old buildings located in old town have unique charme makes you take off your camera and snap them. Latvians are kind people and very welcoming. Not many people know about this little beautiful country. But this is Latvia. The capital city, Riga, offers an exceptional classical cotemporary architectural design. You can efficiently tour the area by taking trams and buses. #Nativity of Christ Orthodox Cathedral The largest Orthodox church in Riga, built in the 19th century when it was under the control of the Russian Empire. It is located in a corner of Esplanade Park. The golden onion roof stands out even from afar. During the Soviet era, it was used as a planetarium. #Cat House There used to be a guild in Riga created by Germans. Since only Germans were allowed to join, angry Latvians erected a sculpture of a cat with its tail facing the guild hall on the roof of their house as a sign of protest. After that, Latvians were allowed to join, so the cat now faces the guild hall. ⚠️You'll miss it if you don't look up! #St.Peter'sChurch The church's Baroque bell tower was built in 1690. It was once the tallest wooden church bell tower in the world. It's a great place to see the whole city. You can't get inside the church without buying a ticket to get to the observation deck (you can go up by elevator). #House of the Blackheads A new attraction that was destroyed in World War II and rebuilt in 1999. It is said to be a house for single male traders on the Baltic coast.
