It opens between ‪2-3pm‬ for tourists and it was closed when we passed. The white and gold mosque stands out specially when we arrived sunset time. It’s simple - mainly using the colours of white and gold - and is super spacious! Very friendly and they allowed us to go inside to take pictures. Our dream destination is to go to Hong Kong for my family trip as Hong Kong is paradise for food lovers, offering a wide variety of culinary delights. My family will enjoy it very much.

Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is a landmark building of Brunei and a symbol of the capital city, Bandar Seri Begawan. The roof is adorned with 3.5 million gold leaves, and the immaculate architecture combined with the gold-plated main dome is very attractive. The artificial lake in front of the mosque perfectly captures its beautiful reflection. The barge named Mahligai is modeled after the royal vessel of the 16th-century Sultan of Brunei. Inside the mosque, the interior is relatively simple. Visitors can see Italian-imported marble columns, handwoven carpets from Belgium and Saudi Arabia, and a massive chandelier weighing 3 tons from the United Kingdom. Entry is free, men are required to wear long pants, and women must wear long robes with head coverings (free hooded robes are available at the entrance). Opening hours: (Outdoor) Daily 8:00-20:30; (Indoor) Saturday to Wednesday: 8:30-12:00, 13:30-15:00, 16:30-17:30; closed on Thursdays, open only from 16:30-17:30 on Fridays. Was established on 26 September 1958, it is one of the oldest mosques in the country. The architecture is very unique as it was influenced by Mughal architecture. The dome is covered with gold. Even the floors and columns were built of marble from Italy. Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque is an Islamic mosque in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. The mosque sits on a 5-acre site and almost surrounded by a man-made lagoon. In the middle of the lagoon sits the Mahligai, an artificial barge in which the design is meant to resemble a ship. It is often considered as one of the most beautiful mosques in the Asia Pacific. It is a place of worship for the Muslim community, a major historical site, and a famous tourist attraction of Brunei. The 24-hour layover gave us opportunities to explore and visit popular places in the capital. After a short sleep, we continued our a little adventure in Bandar Seri Begawan. We just walked going to places and it was weird because we just saw very few people walking so we thought it wasn't common there or just maybe mostly people have cars. Built in 1958, the Oama Ali Mosque is located near the Yayasan Shopping Center. It is a symbol of the city of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It is magnificent and rich in materials and is one of the most beautiful mosques in Southeast Asia. This iconic building can be seen on the way to the city from the airport. The materials used are very elegant, all marble is imported from Italy, granite is from China, stained glass and chandeliers are from the UK, and carpets are imported from Belgium and Saudi Arabia. The whole building is tall and solemn, its huge round gold dome and hollow milky white minaret, majestic and heroic, for thousands of people to worship, is a well-deserved Islamic cultural center.
