Fun day at Osaka Aquarium with marine life
Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the world’s largest aquarium with many marine species.
The aquarium is well-designed, making the walk experience great. Most people like the whale shark 🦈 exhibit as well as the penguin 🐧 exhibit.
It’s highly recommended to purchase tickets in advance as the ticket queue may be long during school holidays and you may need to wait for your turn to enter the aquarium.

How to get there : Take Osaka Metro Chuo line to Osakako Station. 5 mins walk.
Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is a must visit attraction in Osaka. It is one of the largest aquarium that houses the whale sharks in Japan. We spent around 3 hrs touring the place. Is really nice to just sit and watched the fishes. Probably the closest sight i can be without diving into the deep sea.
The whale sharks are house in the Pacific tank, a giant tank of 34 m across and 9 m deep. You do not have to be over excited when you first see the whale sharks cause the tank is 360 degree and spiral all the way down. You will get to view at different height, different angles.
Tips : Look out for the feeding time of the aquatic fishes.

One of the Best Aquarium in Asia - Osaka
#createwithtrip to Osaka must include a stop at Osaka Aquarium located at 1 Chome-1-10 Kaigandori, Minato Ward, Osaka, 552-0022, Japan.
When you first arrive, you will see a colorful building and probably a lot of school kids on their school trip.
Get your ticket at the lobby and follow the guide to go to the highest level and work your way down the building. At some of the landings between floors, you can see a good view of the Osaka Harbor.
Prepare to spend 2-3 hours here if you want to see everything. If your trip is short, you can probably pair this place with Universal Studios Japan.

For those who visit Kaiyukan, you should definitely visit the Tempozan Marketplace right next to the aquarium as well. There’s a mini zoo and a large old-Japan themed food court on the lowest floor. After enjoying lunch there, Kaiyukan is around 5 minutes walk away. It’s mesmerizing inside so prepare to spend more than two hours watching different species of fishes and simply relax in the aquarium.

What started as a 'hmm', went to 'oooooh', to 'wow', to 'WHOA!'. You can even pet stingrays if you want. This is biggest aquarium I've ever seen! Whale sharks swim right up to your face in the large tank and you can pet enormous stingrays in the touching pool. We really enjoyed the Aquarium. The walk round going down to different levels of the sea is great, and there's even some non - aquatic animals to begin with. The artic seals and Harbour seals stole the shoe for us!
The big tank in the middle is impressive, but still sad to see 2 whale sharks in there as for them it's nothing compared to the ocean. There is a really beautiful jellyfish area where you can see them glow in the dark, and the souveneirs are cute. The stars are the whale sharks and seals. I really recommend the touching pool to get your hands on a Ray or shark. The rays feel so soft like a jelly or tapioca! And the sharks are rough like sand! So unique to experience.

The Osaka Aquarium was one of the nicest aquariums I have been to. It is quite a large institution, with multiple floors that exhibit different parts of the Pacific Ocean. It's really quite the trip, beginning with Japanese wildlife and taking us to places like the California Coast that I live next to and the deep sea. There was a huge pool in the center that featured a massive whale shark, amongst other larger fish.

Osaka is the second biggest city in Japan and for sure there are a lot to do and see there, but if you are a sea life fan like me I think Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the places you should visit, the sea animals are well protected and there a lot of different type of se creatures to be seen. From Osaka it can be easily reach by subway. Also aquarium is home to Osaka’s one of the most famous landmark Ferris Wheel, a must visit place with reasonable entrance ticket price.

Known as the world's largest aquarium, the Aquarium replicates the specific parts of the Pacific Rim with its oversized fish tanks – from the “Japanese forest” of the beautiful Japanese forests that are filled with sunlight to the “Antarctic continent” covered by snow and ice. The biggest highlight is the giant whale shark in the centre tank. After entering the hall, take the elevator to the 8th floor, then walk down the ramp. Visiting the entire Aquarium will take about two and a half hours. My brother was hungry by the end of it, but eating in the area is not allowed. There is a restaurant floor where you can sit and eat something. I bought sandwiches, drinks and sea salted ice cream. There is an open exhibition area where you can touch the whale shark. The skin of the whale shark is not as slippery as I thought it would be.

Following Jaehyun from NCT at Kaiyukan Aquarium.
Let's follow the footsteps of the NCT127 boys at Kaiyukan Aquarium! Kaiyukan Aquarium is one of the must-visit attractions in Osaka, as it is the largest aquarium in Asia. It features a wide variety of aquatic animals and other species that are not found in Thailand, such as whale sharks and otters. It's definitely a great experience and worth the admission price. There are timed entry slots which you can inquire about at the front counter. The staff are very helpful. I was particularly impressed by the overhead dome where you can see otters swimming through - that's the spot where Jaehyun from NCT took a photo! After visiting the aquarium, you can also go on the Tempozan ferris wheel and take a cruise on the Santa Maria ship to view Osaka Bay, with USJ on the opposite shore. It's like hitting three spots in one visit, saving a lot of time. You can visit all three places in less than a day. The journey is also easy and straightforward, accessible by JR train from Osaka station with just a short walk. I visited in May when the weather wasn't too hot, around 25 degrees Celsius, but the sun was very strong. Don't forget to bring an umbrella or a hat.

Check in at the FM802 Rock Music Festival, Osaka
Date: 2023/12/27-12/29
Location: INTEX OSAKA
The FM802 Music Festival is back, the paradise for rockers is making its return, and after a year it's time to rock again! The lineup this time is also spectacular, I wonder how many friends will come to Osaka. If you come to Osaka, you must visit Universal Studios, the Kaiyukan Aquarium, and Shinsaibashi are all must-visit places!
1. Universal Studios Japan
Located in Osaka City, Universal Studios Japan ("USJ") is one of the five Universal Studios theme parks in the world and a classic and joyful world in the hearts of many tourists. It has a design similar to Universal Studios Orlando, featuring popular areas such as 'Jurassic Park,' 'Hollywood,' 'Waterworld,' and also has the world's first Nintendo theme park, offering an immersive experience into the world of Super Mario, with over 60 fun-filled attractions that will keep you playing and exploring all day long!
2. Osaka Kaiyukan Aquarium
The Kaiyukan is one of Japan's most spectacular aquariums, recreating natural environments and showcasing the lively and adorable postures of various creatures living around the Pacific Rim. The aquarium has more than 15 large tanks, each representing different regions of the Pacific Rim. Visitors can enjoy a journey around the Pacific, from the land inhabited by birds and beasts, diving into the ocean where schools of fish roam, to the mysterious deep-sea world.
3. Shinsaibashi
Shinsaibashi is Osaka's major commercial shopping district, centered around the Shinsaibashi-suji shopping street, extending from Nagahori-dori to the north and Dotonbori to the south, with many boutiques, specialty stores, restaurants, and large shopping centers. In addition to shopping, tasting authentic Osaka cuisine is also a great pleasure, including various Japanese dishes as well as flavors from other Asian regions and countries around the world such as Europe and America.

The largest indoor aquarium in the world, Osaka is a must-visit
☀️ In the scorching summer heat, of course, it's best to find indoor places to have fun! The aquarium is a great place for both education and entertainment~
🇯🇵 I visited Osaka 10 years ago, and the most memorable place was the aquarium.
💃 I didn't think I would visit the aquarium again this time, but when I found out that the zoo was closed on Monday, I decided to go to the aquarium instead~
🚇 Transportation:
Getting off at the Universal Port Station is super convenient, just a few steps away from Tempozan.
I wouldn't recommend driving as the parking fee is a bit expensive.
🎫 Tickets:
Adult tickets are 2700 each, and there are also package deals available, including options like the Captain Line and the Santa Maria. We bought the one that includes the Santa Maria, which was 3700 per person.
✨ How to play:
Claimed to be the largest aquarium in the world, I'm not sure if it is, but it feels like it's about the same as the rest of Asia.
The area with the most people at the start is where you should quickly browse, and then take your time to enjoy the less crowded areas.
The whale shark zone is really crowded! But the whale sharks are so cute!!!
I didn't get to see the otters much this time, which was a bit disappointing.
The aquarium is very clean, and there are also restaurants and souvenir shops.
⚠️Tips:
There's a lot to do at Tempozan, including a Ferris wheel, shopping mall, Santa Maria, etc. You won't be bored spending a whole day here!
💙 In conclusion, the aquarium is a great place to escape the heat and truly enjoy the charm of marine life!

Absolutely loved this aquarium
The ticket price was a little high which was unexpected but it's totally worth it to go atleast once.
Better to buy tickets in advance, they allow you in based on time of ticket in 15 minute windows (although you can stay as long as you like once in it seems)
Do start early if you're going on a weekend as the place gets really crowded and people are usually stuck onto one tank for a long time. Coming from the tropical regions of the world, seeing penguins was the best part of this place.
The Great Barrier Reef section was closed for upgrading works when we were there but it was still an overall fantastic experience. The 2 whale sharks were definitely the highlight. Such beautiful, magnificent creatures. The aquarium itself is impressive with display split by regions. The dolphins were a particular highlight.

Osaka aquarium
If you haven’t been then it is a must go. It has more than fishes! Kids will definitely enjoy and it is a nice relaxing walk through the aquarium unless you are going on a busy day. If you are going on weekends, it’s good to go online and get your tickets first as there time entry selection. They try to let people go in batches so it is not overly crowded so that a good thing. There’s a small cafe inside, nothing fancy but there’s a view panel sitting so you can watch the ocean as you enjoy a quick bite.

Absolutely loved this aquarium. I found it incredibly well done with great exhibits and variety. The Great Barrier Reef section was closed for upgrading works when we were there but it was still an overall fantastic experience. The 2 whale sharks were definitely the highlight. Such beautiful, magnificent creatures. Pro tip: buy your entrance tickets online and get the table of feeding times on the website before you come here and plan your visit accordingly. They don’t display all the feeding times in one place anywhere; rather, the feeding time is displayed on each individual exhibit, so it makes it quite challenging to see overall feeding times in one place to plan your route. You can easily spend half a day here.

Osaka Aquarium in Japan
You must buy tickets in advance
and enter within the specified time.
The main arrangement inside the museum is to first take a long elevator, and then gradually tour downwards.
It mainly shows from the surface of the sea to the bottom of the sea.
Different fish species are present at different layers.
Overall, this aquarium is worth visiting.
The visiting time is 3h to 4h.
At the end, there will be a souvenir shop, personally, I think the keychains are quite OK, you can buy one.

Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. Though it may not be a humongous aquarium, it is still a very pleasant place to visit if you are heading to Osaka. The walk-through is this aquarium is smooth, bringing you from one area to another, and the lighting and soft music gives the place such a serene atmosphere. Personally, I especially loved the jelly fish zone. 😊
