A travel guide to Nagoya, Japan that you can't miss.
🌇Nagoya is located in the western part of Aichi Prefecture in central Honshu, Japan, and is the fourth largest city in Japan after Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka. With a population of about 2.3 million, this city is the center of the Chubu and Tokai regions, and is also the core city of the famous "Chukyo Industrial Zone" in Japan.
.
🏯The prototype of Nagoya can be traced back to the early 17th century. In 1610, Tokugawa Ieyasu ordered the construction of Nagoya Castle, which marked the beginning of the development of this castle town. After long-term development during the Edo period, Nagoya became the fourth largest city after Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto during the Meiji Restoration. In 1889, Nagoya officially implemented the city system and became a modern city.
.
⛩The rich cultural heritage is also a feature of Nagoya. It is the place where the Kusanagi Sword, one of the Three Sacred Treasures of Japan, is enshrined, and it has the magnificent Nagoya Castle, as well as many museums, art galleries, and the second largest Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Japan. The unique Nagoya dialect and the famous Nagoya cuisine also fully demonstrate the profound cultural charm of this city.

Magnificent site in center of Nagoya
The Osu Kannon temple is one of main temples in Osu Shopping areas. It is located at one end of osu shopping district.
Quite an interesting place. There were a lot of pigeons around the temple and I saw people feeding them for good luck.
Not a very big temple but you get to pray and offer incense at the top of the stairs. If you're looking for a smaller temple with a small crowd, this might be for you.

This lovely Kannon temple is located right near one of the entrances of the Osu Kannon shopping district where there are also lots of small restaurants and eateries all around so worth a visit because of it's location. The temple is quite grand with it's steps leading up to the main temple building and lots of banners hanging all around the entrance. In front there is the main gate building and a relatively small area with trees and statues and lots of pigeons.
We came to visit Nagoya’s famous buddhist temple. Aside from taking some picture, ended up to near shopping street like Dotonbori of Osaka and has lots of store and restaurants. It even has two Khomeyo stores. Over all it was hitting two birds with one stone.

Osu-kannon temple Nagoya
First time here at Nagoya Japan. First and foremost that you will notice when arriving at the Airport are the people, they are courteous , polite and very helpful . Thank you .
The Inn where I stay in was selected by my son , Kuretake Inn , it is a budget hotel since he is on a budget, and I was a last minute companion to their travel plans. The hotel was clean , the breakfast was good . The building is new and design very well, very functional. A True Value for your money type of accommodation.
And also, I notice when we arrive at the hotel is that since my son is not a member of TRIP, even though we have the same hotel accommodation and payment , my room is bigger since I am a TRIP member, thank you TRIP.

Full red blood moon eclipse!!
Wow this was an amazing experience!!
Visiting the Kannon temple in Nagoya a lot of people were staring at the sky and then I noticed how the moon started to become small and then red!!
The moment was magical since it was very quiet and most of the people were just staring at it enjoying it in the garden in front of the temple, I cannot describe how beautiful it was, kind of like a dream from an anime movie or something like that.
Besides the eclipse, I recommend to visit the temple, is near a big arcade for shopping, many coffee shops and good restaurants to eat 😋

Ōsu Kannon ⛩✨
Is one of my favorite places #nagoya. I frequently go there not just for shopping but also to relax. There are two sides of Osu Kannon. The quite side, which is the temple. And the crowded side, which the huge Shopping District.
Don't miss Osu when passing by Nagoya. Such a busy place! ✨
