We had a Meal at A Premium Grocery Store, KL🇲🇾
#winhkflight
📍The Food Merchant @ Pavilion Bukit Jalil
Lot 1.29.00, Level 1 Pavilion Bukit Jalil, 2, Persiaran Jalil 8, Bandar Bukit Jalil, 57000 Kuala Lumpur
Had a quick tea break at the premium grocery store located in Pavilion Bukit Jalil mall, The Food Merchant. The grocery store is unlike the usuals, The Food Merchant is a meticulously and highly curated stop to shop for international brands, premium fresh food products and world class dine in selections. It was indeed impressive to have a vast variation of items from both local and overseas manufactures! Besides, there are a few food stores with tables and chairs for patrons to have a meal, a drink or two. Best part during our visit is that there was a mini live performance at the dining area, how cool is that in a grocery store! Food was decent, was a great experience!
I wish to travel to Hong Kong for the food!

Tsutaya Books 📚 Bukit Jalil 🇲🇾 At Pavilion
#kualalumpur
Great place to explore. Books from all categories are available for all ages. The atmosphere is spacious, cool and beautiful with a café at home and you may be surprised by the artist's corner that has changed from time to time. Last time I found the local treaers who were displayed here, this time by another local callographer. You may get a chance to buy a beautiful craft by local artists. Excellent!!
It is a charming oasis of literary bliss. The surrounding and comfortable environment creates a welcome haven for book lovers. The store’s interior is nothing less than stunning, with its elegant aesthetics and thoughtful layout.
I love the design and interior of this bookstore! Lots of books to choose from. Seats are provided for those interested in reading in the bookstore. There is also a nice spacious café and souvenir section inside the Tsutaya books. Their staff are helpful and polite. I asked them to help me find books by a Chinese author and show me where the books are. This is a bookstore worth visiting. It will definitely reappear in the future.
Every corner invites exploration, inviting visitors to get lost amid shelves full of literary treasures. Warm lighting and comfortable seating areas add to the overall charm, making it an ideal place to immerse yourself in the world of books. However, many of the products here are a bit expensive.

A hidden gem coffee spot in a bookstore
What’s a better way to enjoy a good cup of coffee? To have it in a bookstore enjoying a good reading time. This hidden coffee place is located in a famous Japanese bookstore, serving one of the best coffee and Matcha that we tasted in our foodie journey. And not many people know about it. so it’s time to uncover the secret within publicly.
It’s quite a minimalistic coffee spot that gives a cool vibe that you know it serves good drinks, and many people enjoyed it after buying a book inside to sip away their drinks while reading.
They serve a variety of coffee and tea, but we are more of a Matcha type of person. so we got a hot Matcha Latte and Iced Hojicha. The Matcha is very rich and slightly bitter, it’s just perfect and almost can taste “Japan” in it. The Hojicha is very light and smooth, not too heavy and can taste a good roast from it, definitely one of our favourites in tea spots.

Many stores around here, from economic local brand to international branded stores. This place is not as huge as bukit bintang, but longer and create more spacious feeling. While there is "bowls" in bukit bintang, here is golden rooster as their trademark.

PAVILION BUKIT JALIL
New shopping mall in Bukit Jalil. Really huge mall that is very spacious that feels very modern and not claustrophobic . Not so crowded as we came on a weekday.
A lot of variety choices of fashion, events, foods and beverages and many more outlets .
Definitely a place to visit to soak in the festive atmosphere.
Parking wise, need to take note of your entry point and nearby shops so that you won’t get lost looking for your car, which usually happens in a large mall.

RM12 Porridge in Pavilion Bukit Jalil!
Ever wonder where to get Dim Sum & Porridge during dinner hour especially in a mall?
Let’s check out Dai Cha Dim in Pavilion Bukit Jalil!
We had this drooling and super hearty Century Egg with pork slice porridge ( RM 12) the portion is good for 2 pax!
On top of that we ordered a quarter portion of roast duck, tender and juicy ( RM 26)
And then a stir fried kailan ( RM24) which we thought quite costly for this dish.
Overall, a good place for breakfast/ lunch & dinner!
Recommended dish: Porridge!

Porky goodness at Hakata Tonshu Ramen
One gets extremely spoilt for choice of food at Pavillion Bukit Jalil. A quick walk at level 1 and there're just so many options to choose from.
Hakata Tonshu Ramen's typical Japanese streetside restaurant decor was the first thing that caught my eye. Their banner stand highlighting the porky options were what drew me in. That and the fact that there were more people in here than most other similar sized restaurants.
It's typical of most touchless restaurants that we scan a QR code to order. It was a pity that most of their options were unavailable, so we went for the Chashu Don and Chashu Tsukemen.
Right off the bat, I didn't like that they served a dollop of chilli paste on top on the Chashu. We didn't want the spice as the kids were also eating, so it was a hassle removing it.
Otherwise, the Chashu Don was actually quite tasty. Chashu Tsukemen with Shio soup was also quite good. The noodles itself were tasteless without the soup. Shio soup broth was very porky and delicious. Probably should've tried the Chashu Ramen instead but my husband wanted to try something different.
Both dishes were a hit with the kids so that's also another plus point.
Didn't quite like their selection of music, expected J-pop or Japanese rap songs but ah well, just a minor thing.
Would go back to try their other dishes, provided its available. Was a pity that most of the items on their menu was unavailable when we visited.
Address - Lot 1.14, Level 1, Pavillion Bukit Jalil,
Ambiance/Facilities - 4/5
Highlights - Chashu Don, Chashu Ramen, Buta Don
Avg. Price per Person - RM18-RM30
Rating - 4/5

Van Gogh Alive Malaysia
We bought the early bird tickets at RM 48 for 2 hours of experience at the exhibition, and it was a great experience!
Tips:
1. Go on weekdays as during the weekend it was too packed. You don't get the chance to be inclusive for each section as the staff rushing everyone to finish the session asap.
2. Eat beforehand so that you have the energy throughout the exhibition!
3. Be sure to wear outfits with warm tones like beige or white so that the projected art will be reflected on your outfits, making a new style 😉

Taco time! 🌮
📍 Burger & Taco, Pavilion Bukit Jalil
Check out this restaurant that is specialised in tacos and burgers! They have an option of soft/crunchy tortillas to choose from! It’s full of chicken meat and sauces. We also tried their chicken burger (HULA HOOP) and their quesadillas. The burger is big in size, buns are a bit dry but the chicken is juicy. Do give a shot to their fries, well seasoned with salt and crunchy texture.
Overall rating: 8/10 🍽️

Cups of Joy: Exploring the Coffee Festival on My Malaysia Trip
#malaysiatrip
During my recent trip to Malaysia, I had the chance to visit the Ping Min Market in Pavilion Bukit Jalil, which had an exciting coffee festival theme! This event brought together coffee brands from all around the world, making it a paradise for coffee lovers like me.
One of the first things that caught my eye was the beautiful coffee cup art display right at the entrance. It was really creative, showcasing different styles and designs, adding a unique touch to the festival vibe.
There was also a live band performing, creating a lively atmosphere that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Sipping coffee while listening to music—it doesn't get better than that!
To top it all off, the festival earned a spot in the Malaysia Book of Records as the largest coffee festival! It was great to be part of such a huge event. If you're a fan of coffee, this festival is definitely something to look out for.
